Austin's in the first story entitled Charlotte. Charlotte, takes place the night man first walks on the moon in July 1969, "when a young Pearl is more concerned about why her family is not letting her see her mother, Charlotte (Ginnifer Goodwin), who lies in her bedroom dying from breast cancer."

Rethink Breast Cancer: Your Man Reminder
A new approach to encourage women to do monthly self-exams.
(and guys, men need to check too)
Men have a 1 in 1000 chance of getting breast cancer. This year in the US:
About 2,140 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed among men and about 450 men will die from breast cancer.
And don't think Austin is the only one getting the message out.
Jake has been doing his part with his subtle take on breast self-exams over the years in his photoshoots.
And to Seaweed and all those OMG friends in Canada.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Forgot to the put the time and station for Austin's show when I first posted.

Brokeback Reunion: Jake Gyllenhaal Supports Michelle Williams at her Marilyn Premiere!
ReplyDeleteMichelle Williams and Jake Gyllenhaal were costars in Brokeback Mountain years ago, and it appears they're still good friends.
Last night, Jake was on hand to support Michelle when her latest movie My Week With Marilyn premiered during the New York Film Festival.
Although Gyllenhaal skipped the carpet during the afterparty at the Hudson, he hung tight with Michelle inside the soiree.
But it was another guy who was her actual date for her big night!
"Michelle arrived hand-in-hand with her director boyfriend Cary Fukunaga," a source tells me. "The two stayed close to each other throughout the night, parting when he went to the bar to get them cocktails."
...And we gotta say, we'd have been hanging with him, too. He looks great. Check out his specs and scruff that Jake's been rocking lately.
I'm not normally a big TV watcher but all of a sudden, there's too much to choose from on TV tonight! There's Munsters & Addams Family on Boomerang. The ever classic Seinfeld on TBS. And NOW, I have discovered there's a stupendous lineup of Mr. Belvedere, Mary Tyler Moore, The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart on Famnet!!! I love Newhart! And I haven't seen Mr. Belvedere for ages! But tonight is DWTS and I have to see Cher in the audience.
ReplyDeleteI just can't watch cancer movies right now yet. I root for Austin in his role but hopefully it's not meant to be a slight whatsoever so sorry, but I just cannot take it yet.
And I did enjoy your post today, Special. LOL at Austin's ear and LOL at Jake with his plethura of self-chest rubbing/fondling poses.
ReplyDeleteThe boy did love to stick his hand inside his shirts and pull his shirt down. All the better to showcase a glimpse of that magnificent chest hair, of course!! Woohoo to that!!
It would be interesting to count how many pictures there are out there where Jake's got his hand down his shirt, lol.
Yeah, couldn't bring myself to watch the movie either, watching comedies on HBO instead.
ReplyDeleteI recorded Austin's show but have not watched it yet. I am actually still watching some of the things I taped while in Paris and London, that's how far behind I am. A good 15 hrs worth still to go. But I will make time to watch Austin, probably this weekend. Have to travel again on business next week. Not sure things will ever get back to normal.
ReplyDeleteI watched the whole part titled Charlotte, that Austin was in, and watched how the family was trying to protect little Pearl, who was one little headstrong tough cookie. Pearl grows up the Dr. connects all the stories together, including her own diagnosis which brings the story the full circle.
ReplyDeleteI had to flip during parts of it, it just hit too close to home, losing my mom to breast cancer.
They did keep it pretty real with the all the emotion and frustration,
the highs and lows, heartaches and joy and found a way have the humor that still occurs (and is very much needed)despite it all.
I thought it was well done.
Crazy day editing. I finished my cut. I hope you all enjoy it when it airs.

Such a busy day I forgot that @FiveTheMovie had it's premiere. How was it? Isn't @ginnygoodwin great? And @mrskutcher is a great director!

Jake Gyllenhaal Jogs, Then Goes To Temple With His Family
ReplyDeleteJake Gyllenhaal Supports His BFF Michelle Williams At Her Film Premiere
Hopefully maybe there'll be a YouTube version with just Austin's part in it.
ReplyDeleteBut the guy is so full of it, isn't he? He was so busy. Sounds like he was being greatly distracted to me, lol.
I think it is wonderful that Austin did this part in the movie. It had to be a topic close to his heart and at the same time, wonderful exposure. And working with Demi Moore and Annie Potts? That's awesome.

ReplyDeleteDear Ted:
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the cancer sticks, and continue to be strong! What I wanna know is, do the beards of A-list closeted stars always know they are beards? If they have children is it planned just as much as their relationship?

Dear Beard Jr.:
Oh it's planned, all right. Right down to which outlet with snatch the first pics of their new bundle of joy!
Bitch Back
That check your breast video was a hoot, especially the part after when the actors shake their booty. Even the doc was hot under all those clothes. Very effective, I think.

It's National Coming Out Day; maybe all the "straight" guys I've met in Disney will finally come out! Jake Gyllenhaal, baby, you too.
