Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for Denis Villeneuve’s indie thriller Enemy. It's been since OMG talked about Austin's project Stroker.

 A little summary from IMDB.
 
Phil Stroker wakes up in a world of cubicles and florescent lights. His co-workers shout at him for being too slow. He can no longer connect to his wife in a meaningful way. No one treats him with any respect. One day after work, Phil walks into the water and swims home. For the first time in his life, he finds something that he is good at. Out Spotlight

Today's Out Spotlight was an innovative and influential American artist whose work laid the foundation for the Pop Art movement.Today's Out Spotlight is Robert Rauschenberg.

Born Milton Ernst Rauschenberg in Port Arthur, Texas on October 22, 1925, Rauschenberg grew up in a blue-collar fundamentalist Christian family. After a tour of duty in the Navy, he attended the Kansas City Art Institute and the Académie Julian in Paris. He changed his name to Robert, which he believed was more befitting a painter.

In 1948, Rauschenberg began studying at Black Mountain College in North Carolina. In 1950, he married painter Susan Weil. The couple had a son and divorced in 1953.

At Black Mountain, Rauschenberg studied under Joseph Albers, learning to appreciate objets trouvés—found objects—which later would become hallmarks of his work. He studied and collaborated with other emerging artists, including Cy Twombly, Merce Cunningham, John Cage and Jasper Johns. Rauschenberg had a romantic and professional relationship with Johns for eight years.

Rauschenberg moved to New York, where in 1958, he had his first solo exhibition. The exhibit reflected the artist’s transition from abstract painting to what he termed “combines”—the finding and formation of combinations in three-dimensional collage. One of his most famous combines was “Monogram” (1959), which consisted of a stuffed goat, a police barrier, the heel of a shoe and paint.

As the Pop Art era emerged in the 1960’s, Rauschenberg experimented with silkscreen printing and appropriating photographs from the news of the day. For the remainder of his career, Rauschenberg explored new methods of creating his art. Jasper Johns said, “No American artist invented more than Mr. Rauschenberg.”

In 1964, Rauschenberg was the first American artist to win the Grand Prize at the Venice Biennale.

In 1984, Rauschenberg established ROCI, the Rauschenberg Overseas Culture Interchange at the United Nations—a seven-year project in which Rauschenberg left a piece of art in, and influenced the cultures of, ten countries.

Rauschenberg won a Grammy Award in 1984 for his design of the Talking Heads’ “Speaking in Tongues” album cover. Four years later, the Guggenheim Museum presented its largest exhibition ever with 400 works by Rauschenberg, showcasing his prolific talent and profound impact on 20th century art.

Back to Prayers for Bobby

 In Prayers for Bobby Austin plays the brother a young man who kills himself when he can't cope with his mother's (and family's) intolerance to his homosexuality.  Mary Griffith becomes a gay rights advocate after his death, and the story brings a strong positive message of support for the gay community.  Even though it was just 5 years ago, and so much had already changed, many actors might've passed on it. Especially if there was gossip about their own sexuality and relationships.

But not Austin.

Austin isn't one to shy away from roles that other actors might be reluctant to take.  Early in his career, he  found himself naked in Six Feet Under in a threesome with another guy, and it was a role that got him noticed for other roles.  In John from Cincinnati he played what some thought could be Jesus Christ or an alien.  In Informers  Austin played a bisexual player who slept with everyone, his friend, his friend's mom, his friend's girlfriend, his friend's girlfriend AND his friend at the same time, and end up with AIDS.  And in Ray Donovan his plays a closeted A-list action star with a penchant for transexuals.

 In Hollywood, it's usually taking real life and putting on screen,  perhaps this time doing the opposite and taking the risks from the screen to real life.

There an interesting comment made on Just Jared today about Everest

Everest began production in Nepal, not Italy. They have a 2 weeks filming permission.
Currently they’re shooting scenes (involving Brolin) for Rob Hall’s expedition. Next week they’ll shoot scenes for Scott Fisher’s (Jake’s character) expedition. Then they’ll go to Northern Italy and UK.

The story is about two expeditions getting caught by the storm as they ascended.  It could be they were shoot  parts of the movie in teams for the beginning of the climb. Does that mean that Jake is swapping East Coast chills for high altitude thrills and on his way to Nepal?

He will need a few days to the altitude.  Even just walking around can wind you, and while movie goers like scenes that have actors panting for breath about scaling big things that means something totally different in this case.

Somewhere in Utah, ok Park City, after numerous sighting, some one captured the Squatch in one of his favorite environments. (Anything to do with film)

It is not known if he was lured with  movie popcorn or "just a hey can I get a picture", but he stopped and stared at the camera.

Out Spotlight

Today's Out Spotlight is a writer and comedian from South London. Today's Out Spotlight is Jen Brister.

Jen (Jennifer) Brister,was born in February 1975, in South London.
Brister studied theatre at Middlesex University, where she took a course in stand-up comedy in the mid 90s, which was the only course of its kind at the time in the UK. Other famous graduates include chats show host Alan Carr, Renton Skinner and Clare Warde. Brister's first gig was a showcase for course and held at the Kings Head in Crouch End.

Since then, she has performed in London venues that include Comedy Camp, Banana Cabaret Comedy Store, The Kings Head and ED Comedy as well as hosting her own nights that include Hysterics at Shaun & Joe and CatFlap Comedy at the Player Bar, Soho.

Also a comedy writer, she has and performed alongside Doug Faulkner & Clare Warde, as part of the comedy sketch group, The Loose Connection. They appeared regularly at the Hen & Chickens Theatre, Etcetera Theatre, Sketch Club and The Enterprise in the mid-2000s.

Despite people in the business advising her not to come out publicly for what might happen to her burgeoning career when she started out, she knew that she had to because that is who she is, and her life is the source of her comedy.

"My comedy is almost entirely autobiographical so it didn't make sense to lie about or evade the subject of my sexuality. I have rarely encountered any real homophobia whilst on stage, I'm not saying it has never happened but it's so rare that it's never worried me. Comedy is as meritocratic as it gets. If you're funny the audience will laugh, if you're not they won't. No one cares if you're gay or straight, just be funny."

In 2006 Brister appeared at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with her show "Me, My Mother and I."  She told Time Out in March of that year that the show was about "'It's really an exploration of my relationship with my mum. It's an analysis, as well, of where I am at this point in my life. I'm 31. I'm single. I don't own a house. Or a car. I don't have kids. Or any solid financial security. At 31, my mother had three children and a fourth on the way. She was married and she had a mortgage."

From 2007 to 2008, she worked for BBC 6 Music as a stand in presenter and in 2008 took a show to Edinburgh Scotland called Reception with her comedy partner at the time Clare Warde.

In 2009 she returned to the Edinburgh Fringe again  doing a stand up show as well as appearing in a play called "The One and The Many" by Trevor Lock.

In 2011 she performed her new stand up show, ‘Jen Brister is British(ish)’ at the Adelaide & Melbourne Comedy Festivals before taking it to the Edinburgh Festival to a raft of great reviews.

Back to the festival circuit she brought another new show called ‘Now &  Then’ to the Adelaide Fringe Festival and then back to Edinburgh Festival in 2012.

"The fact is I'm happy to be gay. If there was a pill that could make me straight, I wouldn't take it."
