Remember Remember The 5th Of November - AUS10
The Fifth of November
Remember, remember!
The fifth of November,
The Gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
Guy Fawkes and his companions
Did the scheme contrive,
To blow the King and Parliament
All up alive.
Threescore barrels, laid below,
To prove old England's overthrow.
But, by God's providence, him they catch,
With a dark lantern, lighting a match!
A stick and a stake
For King James's sake!
If you won't give me one,
I'll take two,
The better for me,
And the worse for you.
A rope, a rope, to hang the Pope,
A penn'orth of cheese to choke him,
A pint of beer to wash it down,
And a jolly good fire to burn him.
Holloa, boys! holloa, boys! make the bells ring!
Holloa, boys! holloa boys! God save the King!
Hip, hip, hooor-r-r-ray!
But did he learn that from college or watching friend Natalie Portman (come on if she's friends with Jake, Austin's friends with here) in V is for Vendetta?
Why does OMG think with that cinephile it would be more of a Vendetta.
But just in case England's rubbed off on the fella. BYOF
Fireworks people fireworks.
We are all seeing the same thing, people who have seen the film and has been impressed by the powerful of Jake's performance and by his undeniable talent, you are the one who can not do it, and for reasons that have nothing to do with the movie
ReplyDeleteHuh? What is it with this sledgehammer over the head pushing the ridiculous idea that Jake is the greatest actor who ever lived? He ain't. In fact, his performances have so many ticks, quirks and affectations that his acting of late actually lacks the sincerity and naturalness he once had on screen. It is so obvious that much of the articles and tweets posted about his roles these days are PR generated. Why? Because they pretty much say the same thing over and over and over and over again. And, the sentence always ends with some reference to the Oscars. Regular people do not care about that kind of stuff. But, if you read his twitter feed that's all they are on about.

Sounds like those tweets are PR driven for sure. I serioulsy doubt that most movie goers give a rats you know what about who gets an oscar. The critics score is good but I've read that the audience scores from those leaving the theater were not as high. B rather than A. I still have not seen the movie so cant judge until then, but we can all spot PR verbiage when we see it. Nothing wrong with it. If nothing else, his staff is helping him to land new roles on the tails of the success of his current film. A given for their job description.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to see how Interstellar does this weekend. I've seen all of Nolan's films and liked them a lot, so far. This one looks very ambitious and I'm not so sure about Matthew McC. He was great in his recent TV Detective role, but it fit his personality. I'm not sure I can buy him as a space explorer.
But my point is that personal lives do come along with the occupation of professional actor. That's just the way it is - and public exposure/scrutiny comes with that territory.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't have too. You're right, it's your perogative. If a fan gets too emotionally involved in an actors personal life, be prepared to be disappointed. That's one's perogative also.
It always happens.
What's interesting is the fans who became fans because of BBM who championed Jake as Oscar worthy with praise then began to follow him. Now some seem to rolled their eyes in disgust everytime Jake has a movie release or heavens forbid, a publicity or PR thing that all and every working actors, studios does. All of them.
Now if one follows him/or the actor for some kind of personal vandetta because they feel wronged by said actors personal actionsor inactions, then, why the interest in the actor. Why follow the person? To see them fall on their face?
Well, I wasn't interested in Nightcrawler but went with a friend to see it. I give the movie a 7 out of 10 and Jake gets a 9 and a half.
Great performance!
