The stars, both single, were seated next to each other at a table of eight at the Lafayette Street eatery Saturday night. A spy said, “They were in a group but were very cozy with their chairs pulled in closely together.” They were also spotted one night in June at LA’s Chateau Marmont, but at the time her rep said they were “just friends.” Their reps didn’t get back to us last night.
If it actually happened wouldn't you want to use the word "were" the past tense of be - which means: To take place, occur?
And "chairs pulled in closely together"? If you were in a group of people eating together don't the chairs get close together around the table?
Watch out on Thursday people if your chairs are too close at the table you could find yourself being mentioned getting cozy with your Uncle Bob.
And funny thing about the Chateau Marmont mention, that story was about a similar thing: Sitting close to each other. Of course the tables at the Chateau Marmont private patio are very close together.
