He’s been photographed with longtime boyfriend Benjamin Maisani in plain sight and has laughed at himself when called closeted in front of colleagues, but still hasn’t publicly spilled the beans on the cover of People—or posed in his skivvies for Next.
If anonymous sources are to be believed, though, Andy is prepping his unicorn-horn unveiling for his daytime show, Anderson, during the big February sweeps, when networks make even more desperate grabs at ratings.
Amber Heard is bashing Hollywood stars who are not open about their sexuality. In Women’s Health magazine, “Rum Diary” star Heard, who stepped out with girlfriend Tasya van Ree at a recent GLAAD event, says, “You can’t respect yourself if you’re afraid to be who you are. It requires bravery to do something no one else around you is doing. But the risk was outweighed by the possibility of playing into this horribly detrimental lie that some in Hollywood perpetuate.”

ReplyDeleteDaytime talk show “Anderson” is having their first Christmas party [tonight], 15 December [ed's note: Is this tipster British/Euro? Who else would write the date like that?], at the Russian Tea Room. Anderson Cooper is bringing Benjamin Maisani. And introducing him as his “boyfriend” to the staff. The staff is prepping Anderson’s “coming out” show for the next sweeps. Check the ratings. They’re getting desperate.
Moylan placed a call to the Russian Tea Room and, yes, they are hosting Anderson’s party. The fact that Cooper’s bringing Ben isn’t super-surprising: they kind of live together in a firehouse (and probably have hot power-gay sex in it).
That he will introduce him as his boyfy is notable, but the CNN anchor probably has been doing so with close friends for a while now. Step in the right direction, at least. And the show’s already been renewed for a second season, so they’re not that desperate for ratings.
Perhaps he heard Amber Beard’s call to stars to come out yesterday and just couldn’t ignore it?
Anyway, any CNN insiders want to take us along as a plus-one so we can do some on-the-scene reporting? Or, just, you know, do the reporting yourself and tip us off.

Sorry, sorry!! I've been trying to work on my story tonight and Jake & Austin going on the down low are providing some opportunity to do just that. I'm hoping the Gyllenichols Fam are en route overseas via a stop in NYC with no shenanigans since I'm counting on some "quiet time" from now until mid-late Feb. when Jake will be done with that judging deal in Germany. And, Andy Serkis was in a film called, Extraordinary Rendition and just like Jake he also played an interrogator. Both films premiered in 2007 but this film went straight to DVD and never had a commercial release date.
