This season has been the best one ever for Austin's character Julian, a giving a him serious storylines with moments that tap that quirky goof goodness that makes him Julian. Think there was a little bit of off camera campaigning from Austin playing a character that is more the accessory to Sophia's BrookeDavis(TM)?
Kind of art imitatating life from Bridge Burning June to Done and Over Dec?
It will be interesting to see what Julian we see in tonight's episode and how he plays off of BrookeDavis(TM) since Sophia is directing. Look for differences in how Austin handled Julian and Julian and BrookeDavis(TM) when he directed Ep 7.
Tonight on the Crazy Tree'Anyone Who Had A Heart'
Julian pitches the Lucas's book The Ravens, but from the BrookeDavis perspective. Which is essentially The Crazy Tree, for Lifetime Television. BikiniQuinn and FeatsofClay get ready for Logan to come for his first visit, which probably means no bikinis for BikiniQuinn and Feats talking about Wolverine. Wonder how light Logan's hair will be this week? Anyone taking a bet on if it willPlatnium Billy Idol hair for the series finale? I's not Burining Man, and The Real House of Tree Hill is not buring down the house but burning a boat, going back to Crazy Tree Season One's roots, or could it be a sneaky Viking Funeral for All Dads go to Heaven Dan?
Jake looks broad across his shoulders in that black tee. I think it is because he has gotten leaner through his waist, hips and legs. And Soul Cycle can do that.

ReplyDeleteSometimes when you try to avoid being recognize make you make yourself even more obvious.
A few years ago, they used my conference space at work to host someone from a very very wealth and well known family. Meeting him I wouldn't have known it at all. He spent the three days he was there in a jogging suits and sneakers. But his wife was so worried that she would be recognized, she wore a Hermes scarf tied around her head and giant Jackie O sunglasses inside, in a space with no windows.
And everyone did look at her because she looked so out of place compared to everyone else in the building.
Ironically no one had any idea who she was.

I think Jake will go to the Advocate event on Thursday evening too, me. Particularly, once I recognized David Modigliani walking beside him on Monday. I believe he considers the Hall of Fame Induction a major honor.
ReplyDeleteCounter-intuitive, but the theory in this article makes a lot of sense and helps to explain why Brokeback Mountain is treasured and esteemed by so many people. It reminds the audience how precious love is and how important it is to hold onto to love once you find it.

ReplyDeleteI'm surprise seeing Jake smoking. I had thought he had stopped a long time ago. I mean I don't have a problem with it. I'm a smoker myself. He actually looks adorably goofy in some of those photos especially with his cap pulled back against his head. I also couldn't help noticing the way Jake was holding that cigarette is often the way people holds it when smoking a joint. Interesting. LOL.

ReplyDeleteRay Donovan was still filming this week. It has a 15 day shoot (source: THR) and they started filming around March 12, so it probably ended or is about to end this week. I don’t know how many scenes Austin’s role has but there are some tweets of actors who were still on set March 27 (tweets: 1 , 2 )

Jake Gyllenhaal and his beard took a trip to a gas station in LA yesterday. After going in to pay, Jake caught sight of his reflection in a car window and just couldn't take his eyes off of himself.
In his defense, he is looking quite burly these days. And muscular. And... dangerous.

ReplyDeleteI was responding directly to the point above. I have no idea what you're talking about. And, yes there were sightings of Jake in Berlin a couple of times suggesting that he might have been smoking. The bottom line is who cares? If Jake wants to SoulCycle 24 hours a day and then smoke and eat organic food, it wouldn't be the first time that someone's behavior proved to be contradictory or antagonistic.

Yep, WME is working overtime to repackage Jake. What they are forgetting, however, is that a good actor doesn't need to change their image. He shows up on set and does what the part requires. To have to change you public persona to get roles tells me that either Jake is having a tough time convincing studios to hire him, or he's purposely trying to change his image for his own purposes. Could be a little of both. Having watched the charade of Reeke for a couple of years, there's no doubt Jake is both a trickster and a dissembler.
It almost seems like he's playacting at being an actor.
