Back to Work

Jake was seen hiz first day of shooting Enemy with familiar look just a little more "school" than "cool".

Some think it's because Jake doesn't really want to give up his current style.

It might be if he is an executive producer on this movie too, he might be trying to cut down on production costs....that's one of the hats of a producer.

Or maybe he's just trying to score free stuff from production and take it when he's done. Fall of the Tan Trousers!

And he just stole what he could actually wear from Austin's closet on the big screen.

Because why is it that those knit ties that Austin loves so much keep popping up on Jake?

And now a braided leather belt?

Don't go for the braces(suspenders) bud they tend to shorten the torso.

All right Jake we need to you to look harried and distracted:

[Everyone's out at 3, then there's pick up, make sure the honey wheat cupcakes with kale crunch with them . Naps, naps, naps. There's Rhyme & Reason, and then Art in the park. And who flushed Lego Dastan down the toilet ?]

Jake that's great but save for when I call action.

Huh... wha?

It's great but I don't want you to lose that look before we shoot. It's perfect.

[Dinner...who's doing dinner..Oh no... no no no no....he can not feed them burritos again]

Jake --- now that's too far. Dial it back. It's ok, Adam's not that distraught yet.

  2. hi:) hope you`re all doing well:) it`s been a long time, as usual. i come here from time to time to just read your comments to see how you`re doing though:) i found work again last week after twelve years at home with my kids. it`s in a big store with foods and groceries and all that stuff. don`t know what you call it in english;) but it`s so much to learn and so stressful. i love the work, but i feel so stupid because i`ve never worked in anything like this before. try to learn everything at once, but my brain isn`t big enough i think, so i have to stop putting too much pressure on myself;) i get to work 80% this week, so i`m very happy:) just never satiesfied with myself. so much to learn! never easy is it?;)

  3. I don't know how many saw this... but there one of the X-men is getting married to his boyfriend.

Wedding bells are ringing for the X-Men, and Marvel Comics is getting topical with its newest superhero marriage.

In Astonishing X-Men issue 50, out Wednesday, the openly gay mutant hero Northstar proposes to his longtime boyfriend, Kyle, with a same-sex wedding featuring a super guest list to follow next month — as well as sure controversy in some quarters.

"Whenever you tell a story that touches upon an issue people are passionate about, you open yourself up to controversy and some very heated comments, both supportive and critical," says Marvel's editor in chief Axel Alonso. "But as long as we continue to tell good stories, with nuanced characters from different walks of life, we feel that we're making our comics accessible to the widest possible audience."

President Obama recently came out in support of gay marriage, but Marvel's views evolved a while back. Alonso says he and his team began having conversations about such a story line shortly after New York legalized same-sex weddings last June. "Most of our characters reside in New York, and our stories always work best when we reconcile them against the real world, so it raised some questions."

Marvel has focused on bringing a more realistic flavor to its characters and books, such as introducing Miles Morales, the half-black, half-Hispanic Spider-Man, last year.

Writer Marjorie Liu has embraced that mind-set, too, in her Astonishing X-Men stories. In addition to Northstar's proposal to his boyfriend — which doesn't go quite as planned — she also pens a scene where Northstar talks to his fellow X-Men about his love life while on a mission.

"These are men and women with lives outside the X-Men. You can't be on the job all the time, right?" Liu says. "Why not take an evening and walk through the city, eat ramen at Ippudo, see a movie or hang out at a bookstore?

"They are mutants, yes — definitely superheroes — but also people who live in the world alongside everyone else."

In fact, Northstar makes his intentions known to Kyle alongside many of their fellow New Yorkers in Bryant Park, which was "the perfect place for an impromptu proposal — feet on the ground, with distractions all around," Liu says. "I especially liked the idea of these very private people — well, private enough for a mutant celebrity — having such a public, life-changing discussion."

Marjorie Liu, the writer of this issue,
said, “This is a love story and not a political statement,” Liu said. “Gay marriage is legal in New York state, and some of the X-Men who live there just happen to be gay. If they want to get married – well, why not? Not everyone will agree or be happy about it (in our book, and in real life), but that doesn't mean we shouldn't tackle those stories with passion and empathy for both sides.”

Conor Kilpatrick of iFanboy.com believes the issue is a perfect fit for Marvel: “The X-Men have been, from the beginning, an allegory for civil rights, so it makes sense that in a time when gay rights is such a front-burner issue in American society that Marvel Comics would face it head-on with their X-Men characters.”

Marvel Comics first rose to prominence and popularity in the 1960s by more accurately and relevantly reflecting the issues of the day in its stories compared to its competition, DC Comics, so it's no surprise that in 2012 Marvel is taking on the issue of gay marriage.

    Congrats Northstar and Kyle!

  4. Hi NG!

Great to see you again, glad you stopped by. It's tough just changing jobs so what you are doing - WOW!! You Go!! And give yourself a break, it takes everyone time to learn a new job or skill. We all start out doing it far from perfect, that's a whole part of the process.

And hey you've done an even harder job, raising kids.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hi NG!! Great to see you!! Hey, do not sweat it. I think we want to always be learning - say no to stagnation!! At my work, we are always using some new software or changing the way we do something and sometimes it's pretty scary.

But it's good for us, ng. It's good for us to go out of our comfort zone and we are never too old to learn. I had a 90+ year old Sunday School teacher who learned how to use email.

Just take notes and do your best. That's all any of us can do. And just think of the new friends you'll make, new people you'll meet. In that kind of store, you may meet somebody new every single day. That's pretty fun.

  6. Uh, Special, I just don't know about that song. David Bowie sang so many great songs, i.e. Golden Years, Modern Love, Heroes, Rebel Rebel, Blue Jean. But....Looking for Water.

    :(

lol. Sorry! I know, I know. It had to be about water.

Hey, I didn't know who Jim Parsons was until I Googled him and I thought, 'Hey, I know that guy!'. That show always comes on TBS after Seinfeld. I don't watch it but I figured that guy just had to be gay in real life.

Very interesting all the comments on People.com. Most people could care less anymore.

The Old Guard in HW, WME this means the likes of you, needs to get with it. Things are changing fast, like Destiny said.

They're changing fast and Austin & Jake are starting to look like dinosaurs.

  7. thanks sk:) i didn`t know anything about that kind of work, and everyone was stressed because it was before may 17th, norways national day and a bread strike at once, so there was no one that had time to learn me. i have never felt so insecure in my whole life, and never so calm..my new collegause are all wonderful. they said i was so calm. i said i had to be, but that it took all my control. if i had stressed, my head would explode, and i could learn nothing. inside though, i am struggeling still, but it`s hard to get work and i think i really like this work when i feel secure, even though it takes me three hours each working day by travel. so i guess i will stay, as long as they want me thoug:)

  8. And a Big Congratulations!! to Adam Lambert, who supplanted another fave of mine, Carrie Underwood, from the top of Billboard.

Adam became the first openly gay artist to debut at #1 on the top of the Billboard charts.

I was watching an interview with Adam last night on taped video after his performance on Idol and he just blows me away with his comfort and ease. He's got the whole package - he has fantastic looks, he has charisma, he has an incredible voice, he has great speaking skills. He is a natural in interviews. I wish I liked his bf a little better, lol. Aw well, can't have everything. They've been together for awhile so it must be going very well.

Great song on his new CD called "Naked Love". WOW. Love it. Played it a ton of times already.

PG - see what you think of the new one by Fitz and Tantrum's.

  13. Gay’ penguin couple delighted over opportunity to be parents

MADRID — A same-sex aquatic bird couple in Spain has been allowed to adopt an egg to nurture.

Inca and Rayas, a pair of Gentoo penguins at Madrid’s Faunia Park Zoo, have suffered from repeated heartache for a long time according to zookeeper Yolanda Martin. The pair had carefully built and lovingly looked after six nests, but sadly, those nests remained empty.

Martin noted that Inca and Rayas had longingly watched the other penguin couples welcome their little chicks into the world, and finally, after zookeepers took pity on them, the presumed gay birds now appear delighted to finally have been given the chance to enjoy “parenthood.”

According to Martin, Inca has taken on the “female” role of incubating the donated egg (that is due to hatch in June), and sits loyally on his child to be, while even turning down the chance to get his feathers wet with a refreshing swim.

Meanwhile, his “husband” Rayas keeps a watchful eye on their nest and chases off any potential predators or gawkers.

“We wanted them to have something to stay together for — so we got an egg. Otherwise they might have become depressed,” said Martin.

  14. Hi NG, always good to hear from you.

    Great news about Adam.

I love The Big Bang Theory, really funny. Parsons is another one who has been in a glass closet, seen out and about with his boyfriend, including at the Emmy's.

I really liked the David Bowie song you had up, but then I'm a die hard Bowie fan. I wonder what's going on with him. I never hear anything about him anymore, and it doesn't seem like he's seen at events around town with his wife. I hope his health is okay.

  15. Okay, I couldn't resist reposting this comment from the DL thread on Parson's coming out because it really cracked me up:

actually Sean Hayes only came out two years ago when he did Promises, Promises. Do you have to come out to appear on Bway?

  16. Great news about Jim Parsons, though how anyone could have ever thought him straight is beyond me. But his acknowledging it and recognizing his partner is terrific. He appears on Craig Ferguson pretty regularly so I hope to see him there again soon. Very talented man. I can just see him as Harvey. Maybe I'll have time for more than one show when I come to see jake if Harvey is still playing.

And so cute for the penguins,. I just finished watching Modern Family where Cam and MItchell are heartbroken to have another potential adoption fall through, so the Penguin story is timely.

  17. Awesome so many folks are coming out. Must be in the air. I expect Jake to come out when the cow finally jumps over the damn moon:-)

Off to a Drs. appt. Not feeling great.

  18. Congrats to Jillian

"Jillian Michaels has a couple new additions to the family. The former “Biggest Loser” trainer just adopted Lukensia, a 2-year-old girl from Haiti, while her partner, Heidi Rhoades, just gave birth to a little boy named Phoenix. “We’re swimming in babies over here,” Michaels told People. Becoming a parent has been a longtime dream for Michaels, who said she’s quite busy these days. “I don’t even answer email. I don’t have time to care about anything else,” she said. “I want to be really present and enjoy all the nuances of their growth and development. I don’t want to rush any of it.” - Boston Herald.

Closeted actors do get married and have kids in Hollywood you know. So who can say about this Ryan character. We already know he's a liar based on that tweet to Austin.

You don't get around much do you? LOL! Austin is as gay as glitter and sequins. There was no reason for that Ryan character to send that uninformative tweet, except for the subliminal message. The press doesn't follow Austin around so he's using twitter as a beading device just like he did with Sophia Bush.
