For the squeamish, those who don't want to be spoiled, or who just don't want Jake to lose those great assets he showed off in LaOD read no further.

Looks like Jake got do something he's never had a chance before in a movie, extensive special effects make up. He's put his body through some pretty amazing things to get into his roles, and has been squibbed before (squibs are the blood packets that explode to look like gunshots, explosions) but losing limbs to a train in a battle of man vs. ticking time bomb, is a first.

This is a Sci-Fi Action movie, action with a capital A. And that's what the audience is going to get.

While Duncan is the man who is creating the vision for SC, the man who is creating Jake is Montreal native and Oscar nominee Adrien Morot.

No doubt Jake had to spend some time in the chair being molded so the master could sculpt his mutilated masterpiece. Somewhere in a Montreal workshop there are casts to make a life size Jake, well half a Jake, and in need of a hand out.

Jake was out yesterday at the Four Season in LA. While some are reporting it was a social call, it looks like it was more of a press thing getting ready for Source Code's opening.

Peacock and Pedals

As an actor Austin tells stories through his actions.

As a writer Austin tells stories through his words.

As a director Austin tells tells stories through his images.

And to be successful, all multifaceted, layered and complex.


Like why did Austin pick a peacock? Because they like peace and harmony? Is he saying during the mating season he makes that very loud high pitched cry like a peacock? That he was chosen by his mate for the size, color, and quality of his outrageous feather?

Is he thinking of Greco-Roman mythology when the goddess Hera /Juno is symbolized by the peacock. "The eyes upon the peacock's tail comes from Argus whose hundred eyes were placed upon the peacock's feathers by the goddess in memory of his role as the guard of Io, a lover of Zeus that Hera had punished. The eyes are said to symbolize the vault of heaven and the "eyes" of the stars." Hmmmmm who's eyes could those be?

Or maybe a Hindu connection, where the peacock is associated with Lakshmi who is a deity representing benevolence, patience, kindness, compassion and good luck.

Or maybe how the peacock is associated with Kwan-yin in Asian spirituality. Kwan-yin (or Quan Yin) is also an emblem of love, compassionate watchfulness, good-will, nurturing, and kind-heartedness.

In Persia, the peacock is seen as a guardian to royalty, and is often seen in engravings upon the thrones of royalty. Hmmmm Persian Royalty .... like a Prince?... a Prince of Persia?

Maybe he just likes NBC's Thursday night comedies, or just proud as a peacock about something or someone(s) else and it's the only way to say it at the moment?

And then later last night Austin put up this tweet and this picture:

Austin on a bike, so what.

Blow it up and look again. How do you take a picture of yourself from the left side of the bike with your foot still in the clips on the right pedal.

Austin's tall but.... who knew he is more flexible than Gumby to pull off that move of bending basically back and to the left with both hands off the bike, taking a picture, keeping the balance of the bike AND still having his right foot in the pedal. Damn boy what kind of working out are you doing? Some Bikram yoga? Tracy Anderson workouts? Pilates? Prince of Persia workouts? Jake just rubbing off on you?

And for that matter - how is here no shadow of him on the cement?

Ohhhh yeah that's based on reality for sure. And because it's not AllaboutBrooke, The Crazy Tree girls throw a baby shower for The Real Housewife of Tree Hill, while the guys bond over Jamie tries out for baseball, and Mouth helps Millie get ready for her first day at a new job. (Maybe he will get her one of the nifty lunch boxes like Harrison Ford did for Melanie Griffith in Working Girl)

Out Spotlight

Today's Out Spotlight is a theater, film and television actress best known for her role as president of the United States. A Broadway veteran, she is considered one of America’s foremost stage actresses. She has received two Tony Awards. She is a also an advocate fore gay rights. Today's Out Spotlight is actress and advocate Cherry Jones.

Cherry Jones was born November 21, 1956 in Paris, Tennessee. She grew up in the small town with her mother a high school teacher and her father owning a flower shop. “I came from a very loving family where I knew I had their unconditional love no matter what,”

With her sights set on acting, she headed north enrolling at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, where in 1978, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In 1980, she became a founding member of the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she played a wide range of roles.

In the mid-1980’s, she left the ART and moved to New York and performing in the Broadway productions including “Angels in America,” “The Night of the Iguana”,“A Moon for the Misbegotten, and Timberlake Wertenbaker's "Our Country's Good", for which she earned her first Tony nomination.In 1995, she received a Tony Award for her role in “The Heiress” and made headlines by being the first award winner to publicly thank her then lover, architect Mary O'Connor.

In 1998, Jones narrated a documentary film about the history of the gay rights movement, “Out of the Past.”

She has narrated the audiobook adaptations of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House series including, Little House in the Big Woods, Little House on the Prairie, Farmer Boy, On the Banks of Plum Creek, By the Shores of Silver Lake, The Long Winter and Little Town on the Prairie.

In recent years, Jones has ventured into feature films appearing in “The Horse Whisperer”, “Cradle Will Rock”, “Erin Brockovich” and “The Perfect Storm”, Oceans Twelve and The Village.

In 2001, Jones costarred with Brooke Shields in the Lifetime Television movie “What Makes a Family,” based on the true story of a lesbian couple and a custody battle. “I’m more proud of that than anything I’ve ever done. There’s so much social worth to that film,”

An outspoken advocate of gay rights, she received GLAAD’s Vito Russo Media Award for her contribution toward eliminating homophobia in 2004.

In 2005, she was honored with a second Tony Award for her portrayal of Sister Aloysius in “Doubt.” When she accepted her Best Actress Tony, she thanked "Laura Wingfield", the Glass Menagerie character being played in the Broadway revival by Jones's girlfriend actress Sarah Paulson. The pair had attended the awards together and kissed right after Jones won, thus making it clear that Paulson was not closeted about the relationship.

In 2007, Paulson and Jones declared their love for each other in an interview with VelvetPark at Women's Event 10 for the LGBT Center of New York. Paulson and Jones ended their relationship in 2009 and remain friends.

She may be best-known for her role as President Allison Taylor on the Fox series 24. In 2009, Jones received an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a drama series for her role on “24."

Yesterday Austin made two interesting tweets.

Why so interesting?

Usually Austin's non sequiturs usually are telling a lot more than they appear. Like this one for instance. We knew when Austin was in LA because he tweeted that he was editing and gave a picture. But then when exactly where he was after Day 2 of editing was a bit of a guessing game. It seemed to some that he came back to Wilmy on Monday, but not one peep from Austin Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday what he was doing or where he was. Then yesterday, he's talking about North Carolina and shows a pic.

Why then and not sooner? Well it was late Wednesday night that pictures of Jake out in LA appeared. Could it have Austin waited until after it was known that Jake was in LA, to place himself in NC, not to make sure that they were on opposite but tell those looking carefully - that he was in LA longer than most people thought.


Ahhh ... no... again Miss ... what was your name again? I prefer something a little more athletic and longer... with toned thighs ... from cycling... do you even own a bike?

The other tweet? Is it a case of TMI?

Austin tweeted this last night. But when you go back to his twitter page this morning it's not there. The only way you can find it now is through twitter search. Why the disappearance ? Did he give away too much of the plot? And seriously why would you hit a bad guy underwater? Is part of the elaborate BrookeDavis(TM) gets a baby storyline? Could the bad guys be babynapping? Will BrookeDavis(TM) cry for umpteenth time, but this time for something important?

Or is OTH going Top Secret?


And who said Jake doesn't have some Austin Fridays? ; ) He will coming up next month at SXSW. Wait that's a different kind of Austin Friday.
