Austin's gone to the 80's for Lifetime but this time he goes back a little further, to 1969.
The hair's a little longer this time but cause is just as important.
Austin is taking part in the groundbreaking original movie “Five” for Lifetime Television.
"Five" is the "anthology of five short films exploring the impact of breast cancer on people’s lives."
"Five" shows the shared experience each short film’s title character endures from the moment of diagnosis, weaving their stories together with both drama and humor "to focus on the effect breast cancer and its different stages of diagnosis have on relationships and the way women perceive themselves" while they search for strength, comfort, medical breakthroughs and for a cure.
Austin is a part of an all-star ensemble cast that includes Patricia Clarkson, Rosario Dawson, Lyndsy Fonseca, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Holloway, Taylor Kinney, Jenifer Lewis, Jennifer Morrison, Kathy Najimy, Bob Newhart, Annie Potts, Tracee Ellis Ross, Tony Shalhoub, Jeffrey Tambor and Jeanne Tripplehorn.
Austin plays one of the children of Annie Potts who is diagnosed with breast cancer in 1969. The story will show how different it was to be diagnosed then, both medically and socially and the effect it had on not only Annie's character but her family.
Each short film is directed by a different director, which are Jennifer Aniston, Alicia Keys, Demi Moore, Patty Jenkins and Penelope Spheeris.
The head of Lifetime, Nancy Dubuc said “This may be the most important film we’ve ever done."
Intense, powerful, inspiring, it is being called a can't miss.
But don't think it is all serious, "Five" looks for the humor as well.
Executive producer Marta Kauffman (Friends) talked about what happened with someone is given such as a diagnosis of breast cancer. "When we're in the most extreme circumstances, we tend to do one of two things: We either completely freak out, or go to humor. And when you raise the stakes enough, the results can be funny. It can be funny when a woman who's been diagnosed with breast cancer still has to deal with her mother."
"We were always given the freedom to make it as funny as we wanted to."
Kaufman added, "The idea was to do something that uses breast cancer as a backdrop, it's not about breast cancer; we've already seen that."
FIVE premieres Oct 10th on Lifetime.

Interesting project.
What an interesting project for Austin. He certainly kept that under the radar. I've lost 2 friends to breast cancer over the years so will definitely be watching.
As for Reeke, I think the reason Ted was mad was that a deal is a deal. He may not have liked it, or what the bearding was doing to Jake, but she left him high and dry and that was not cool. I'd love to know what led to that though. Surely there is more to it than Toth. I'm also pretty sure Jake was not chosen for Avatar. I remember seeing his face when asked about it after Avatar came out. The look spoke volumes.
All day sightseeing again. Must add that the iPad is a great travel companion. Plus it never changed to local time like my iPhone so I know what time it is at home.

Jake looks good in the new pictures, but they bring up a couple questions.
When have you seen Jake out recently in a dress shirt with shorts?
Could it be that he wanted to show something off?
Notice how he has his bare hand up to show no ring. That said he made sure he was wearing an open shirt collar instead of his go to t-shirt. Why? Maybe to show off that mark he got on his neck.
He couldn't wear his ring, but he was going to make sure that it was known he was someone's man.
From what I can gather is that Austin's story in FIVE is that he is Jeanne Tripplehorn's big brother in 1969, when their mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
I think for all the doofy stuff Austin's had to do in OTH,he balances it out.
He has made very concerted thoughtful choices to the other projects he involves himself in doing. Ones with a message.

Oh, Jake wanted to show off something, alright. These days, he rarely wears a dress shirt splayed opened like that at the collar. He looks good though. Maybe a slight smirk on his face along the way.
That Barstow, CA address Jake was seen at on September 1 (2843 Lendwood Rd) is definitely the correct spot they were noshing at on the way to Las Vegas to film because there is also a Chevron sign reflected in the window and, not surprisingly, there is a Chevron Food Mart & Gas Station there as well. Jake and his people made sure to flood the Internet with all kinds of photo opportunities this past week, no doubt to distract from that wedding band he was wearing, but it's clear the film crew were heading east toward Vegas.
By the way, Los Angeles is about 100 miles from Barstow. And, Barstow to Las Vegas is about 152 miles. Barstow would be the perfect midway point to stop and have a snack.
As far as I-15 goes, it's hard to make any serious time lately because of the construction and traffic on Friday and Sundays. That's why it is understandable that they all took off on Thursday, September 1 and came back on Saturday to avoid the traffic congestion that comes with the weekend gamblers. Sunday became Rashida day so we know Jake is back in Los Angeles by then.

You guys might be right about them filming something at the gas station. This is purely speculation (going by the time stamps embedded in the pics) but if the times are correct, then the cast spent almost 3 hours at the gas station that day. Seems like an unusual amount of time to be there if you're just stopping to eat / get snacks, right? The pics were actually taken at 2 different times . The first half (eating Subway sandwich) were taken around 1:30 PM and the second half (Jake with his arm around Anna) were taken around 4:30 PM. Both on September 1st. :) So yeah, I can't say for sure since I don't know, but maybe the did film something inside or around the gas station that day on their way to Las Vegas. It's possible! :)

So Anna and Jake were sharing a true tender moment over subs. Why didn't the mags just say they were filming from the start. And, weren't there other stories saying these pictures were from Labor Day. Too many lies swirling around this to not think something is up.

Also, in the September 19th (2011) People Magazine issue, after all this pushing of Jake with women, under the Heart Monitor section on page 38 there is this

I find it interesting too that there were no tweets about filming. If they were there for 3 hours, not one single tweet about a movie filming at a random Chevron/Subway or mall? Barstow is a community of 21,000. Wouldn't you think a filming event would be an attention getter in a small city?
And if there was filming, where are the cameras? Any crew? No make-up? No mics? Were they using a camera video cam to shoot?
And if they were filming a scene elsewhere, why are there no pictures of the actual filming, only of the lunch break?
Popsugar is the site that said that the pics were from Labor day and since they didn't see the traditional film set-up (Ayres probably filming with a video from a car or Kendricks using her iphone for that POV look, just speculation) the paps thought that it was a date. The other sites are too lazy and dumb to figure out that 9/5 was a holiday and most likely no filming was done on that day.
Jake is aware of the paps if you look at the pics and makes no attempt to hide his prop ring, Anna is wearing one too.
Her confused look just means she was in character, they were actually filming at that point.
Stephanie from IHJ works at a photo agency and saw the pics with the timestamp emmbetted, there were 2 sets of pics shot 1:30 AND 4:30 . Don't think they were milling about eating snacks.

If the first half was spent eating and 3 hours later come the pictures of Jake with his arm around Anna, then why does Jake have another plastic bag of food in his left hand? Is that sandwich for the road? If the mileage between Barstow and Las Vegas is about 152 miles as quoted by M&M, Jake anticipated being hungry again for another sandwich in 3 hours? If the sandwich wasn't for him, then who was it for that is not pictured? Someone who was riding along and sat in the car (for 3 hours?)
And if filming took place in the first half, then why does Jake still have his prop wedding band on in the second half of the pictures which was 3 hours later? He forgot it was there? He just liked wearing it?

I agree with many of the points about why not just do all the filming in Vegas? Why were the stories indicating they took place on Labor Day? One story even said Jake flew into Vegas. I can understand that a wedding scene would be filmed in Vegas, but a Subway Sandwich exterior shot could have been done in LA very easily.
Speculation, JJ and the rest of the dumbasses have no idea how long the shoot is and when they realized that the Anna/Jake pics were of them filming they jumped to the conclusion that it was still filmimg which it was in LV.
Jake hiking with Atti and friend with the LAPD T didn't help matters, especially with JJ.

Stephanie has the timestamps, 3 hours that is way too long for just a pit stop at Subways or to kill time for a flight because I would think that even though this is a cheap shoot, they would know what time the flight leaves.
I bet the director decided to do his cinema verite bit before the flight to LV, no permit and no fuss=realism, LOL!!
If you look at pictures of Jake on the set of EoW the propmaster would not eve let him have his badge on until the moment they started shooting, the same would be for the ring. As soon as Ayers said cut they would have collected it.
And neither Jake were Anna were miked, there is not mike pack seen, there are no booms, nothing. Yes you can film using unconventional cameras, but you have to have good sound.

You took my thunder. There should have been a lot more photos of different activity other than Subway sandwiches, if the paps were there for 3 hours, which is what IHJ is stating.
Well they also could have been in stores or shops and the paps could not get pictures of them there.
You also have to remember that Jake or his people can buy up pictures as well or make deals about pictures with agencies.
That could be another reason why you don't see a lot of pics.
Obviously the photos at Subway were leaked by the film crew. Don't know why others are afraid to say that.
If these are just leaked filming pictures snagged by paps, as asked before by M&M at 11:11, why weren't the pictures tagged as filming pictures from the very beginning?

And if they were "leaked", not to be released yet, then why not pull the pictures as has happened before to other pictures leaked that aren't supposed to be published?

Looking at the pics all were very aware of the paps and didn't seem to mind , even eating their sandwiches outside which you would think they would have done indoors or even in their cars.
Like the other pics from the set of EOW that were plastered all over the net because they knew they were filming in those neighborhoods, this time they were called because I don't think that is a regular place they would hang plus 3 hours?

No, the paps were called to shoot what we saw, it was on purpose.
It's a good thing Steph works at that agency and she saw the timestamps on the pics.
They weren't tagged because Jake's peeps saw that people would speculate because they are too dumb and lazy to figure out that they were filming.
The paps were tipped off or the crew "leaked" them with Jake's PR approval and after his peeps saw they could create some buzz, they removed the EOW tag.
They also know that even if it's figured out down the line that they were indeed filming, the lazy blogs and tweets would continue to claim they were on a lunch date.

As Sk has stated above, deals with agencies are made all the time, the fact that Steph says that she saw the timestamps on them means that she saw them after the deal was made or she is leaving out some info.
The paps didn't just stumbled upon them and decided to hang around for 3 hours taking pics.
Reminds me of the pics of Jake's Dad's wedding, Stephen had to have called the paps for PR with the promise of pics of Jake and Maggie, that's the only way they would show up.
Just a guess, but they were probably careful of Jake's continuing to wear a badge so he wouldn't be mistaken for a real cop or accused of impersonating one while away from the set.
