All the Love

Jake isn't the only one who's had a movie renamed and repacked with a Love title.

Remember this one from Austin?

It was originally called Thanks to Gravity

and was changed to Love and Debate,  right around the time Love and Other Drugs came out.

And we can't talk about that project without bring back those picture of Austin do press during his suspenders/braces fashion phase.

Congratulations and love to Jake who was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Actor for his performance as Lou Bloom in Nightcrawler.

Leo's not sure how fair it is that Jake's outfited for the polar temps right now to his Bean boots on Thursday,  while he is going au natural.

Jake we'll give you 20 bucks if you show up on the BAFTA's red carpet wearing your Teddy Bear Flap Hat.  Whaddya say?

100 bucks if you do the hat and Austin's braces.

Hello Mexico

We've seen Austin in Mexico like this

and this

and in 2014 for Adam's wedding

and you can't forget about this.

But you haven' seen him like this.

A childhood friend tweet Austin a picture of their joint families on vacation when the Tall Texan wasn't so tall yet.

But he was sure a cutie.

How's that for a Flashback Austin Friday

From Screen to Real Life

A little Flashback Austin Friday

Back to Prayers for Bobby

In Prayers for Bobby Austin plays the brother a young man who kills himself when he can't cope with his mother's (and family's) intolerance to his homosexuality.  Mary Griffith becomes a gay rights advocate after his death, and the story brings a strong positive message of support for the gay community.  Even though it was just 5 years ago, and so much had already changed, many actors might've passed on it. Especially if there was gossip about their own sexuality and relationships.

But not Austin.

Austin isn't one to shy away from roles that other actors might be reluctant to take.  Early in his career, he  found himself naked in Six Feet Under in a threesome with another guy, and it was a role that got him noticed for other roles.  In John from Cincinnati he played what some thought could be Jesus Christ or an alien.  In Informers  Austin played a bisexual player who slept with everyone, his friend, his friend's mom, his friend's girlfriend, his friend's girlfriend AND his friend at the same time, and end up with AIDS.  And in Ray Donovan his plays a closeted A-list action star with a penchant for transexuals.

In Hollywood, it's usually taking real life and putting on screen,  perhaps this time doing the opposite and taking the risks from the screen to real life.

Happy Austin Friday

Mild on Spring Break

It 's that time of year.  Spring break.  And Austin well he had an on screen moment.

While it's no Springbreakers, and he's not Franco he did star with two tween stars and another hottie who later made a name for herself.

Oh yeah it is..... Holiday in the Sun

Holiday had everything you need for a Spring Break movie.

The Beach

 Twins
 Awkward Running

The clueless guy

Mediocre storyline

Too small hats

Scooters!!

Stealing Yatchs

Comically sized pairings

 Waterskiing

Dolphins

Sunsets

Cluelessness

Sassitude

and getting hauled to the pokey!

And the brunette in the cast?  That's Meghan Fox.

Austin behind the scenes while making the movie.

Back to the Surface

It's another Flashback Austin Friday.   And today it's Surface

Surface was part undersea adventure part drama that centers on the appearance of mysterious sea creatures in the deep ocean appearing all over the world.  Austin played  Jackson Holden  who gets recruited to help them discover more about these sea creatures.

This was the first series that took Austin to Wilmington to work, so going back to work there for OTH was old hat.

The one thing you might remember most about Austin in Surface, is his hair.  It was his natural auburn and full of those curls we don't get to see anymore.
