Love x 10

Happy Valentine's Day

What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day that a picture of our favorite pair in the picture that kicked it all off.

It was February 11th  that Jake and Austin were the happy pair courtside at the Lakers.  Hard to believe it's been 10 years.   Yes 10 years!

Big Blue, grey overcoats, buttons torn off,  a zipper down and that smile! and the lean  all things to love.

And much love for Austin and big rubba' boots.

Fella's update:  Jake has been bouncing back and for between Boston and New York as he gets ready to produce and star in the movie Stronger,  about the Boston Marathon bombing.  Filming starts in Boston in April.

Austin is back on The Walking Dead and is back on TV tonight.  Fans are hoping the TV version of Spencer does not meet the same fate as his graphic novel counterpart.  It's a wait and season for this season of TWD.

Switched back

Sunday was  a busy day for Jake.

In the afternoon he was a  Q&A for Prisoners with members of SAG and then he grabbed a seat courtside to see the Lakers play the Timberwolves and saw the Lakers get spanked.

For those keeping score the biggest switch of the night is Jake is back to his black on black LA hat. Sorry NY hat, you've been denied.

Jake was looking good chillin' casual and bronzer free.

And it looks like he is back to eating again, with his face looking less gaunt and more like the Jake we all know.

Today was Veterans Day and in the UK and the Canada Remembrance Day, honoring those who have served and those who lost their lives defending their country.  One of those who served in the US were members of the Navajo Nation, a native American nation in the US.  The Navajo created a group called the Navajo Code Breakers who served in the US Marine Corp and broke many of codes used by the Axis powers in World War II.

The faces that launched a thousand 'ships.

Toothy Talk may have started a year earlier but these were the pictures that made everyone sit up and take notice.

It was five years ago today, courtside at the Lakers.

Might not sounded like a big deal.

But it was clear not only was it a big deal, but more importantly the real deal.

The smiles, grins, looks, and leans. Constantly in touch with one another.
It was the first glimpse of Austin, that big blue ring, and his fashion sense. (Oh where has that coat with the raggedy sleeves and those big rubba boots gone?)

Missing buttons, tricky zippers

And in those five years since - rings, commitments, husbands, babies.... family

Hoop Dreams

It's all tied up with The Lakers and The Celtics and the series is back in Beantown.

Now Jake said he was a fan of both. But these pictures show a man who just lived a boyhood dream.

Back on December 2, 2006 Jake got to have a lunch with Magic Johnson. One of the greatest players in the history of The Lakers. Magic was the face of The Lakers and in the 80's he and Larry Bird from The Celtics personified the rivalry between the two teams.

You can just see the little boy in Jake.
Jake might say he's a Celtics fan, but don't know if he would have that look meeting Larry Bird.

UN or a Man without a Country?

Or is he?
Tonight starts the NBA Finals and Jake got the match up he was hoping for with The Celtics vs. The Lakers, which is one of the biggest rivalries in US sports.

Jake has played the Bi card (bi coastal) to explain him rooting for both teams. He's trying to have the best of both. (Courtside seats, we know Jake) But after saying this at The Garden, will they let him in The Staples Center?

(Preach it sister,Boston fans are the best!)

Jake claimed neutrality and saying he is the UN when it came to the match up on a ESPN's LA station last week. Or did he? Check it out. Mason & Ireland

When pressed he gives his answer to who's rooting for, but in a way for only those who know what to listen for.

It's an example to what Jake tends to do when he can't really say, but wants to say something. Just this time he admits he does it. Don't think it was his first or last time of playing Clue, (it was the Goose in the Library with a dagger [of Time])

But back to going to the game. Not sure of the reception Jakey will get in The Staples Center or The Garden. He might need his own Texas Ranger with him.Did you just signal for me?

One More Thing: If you listen to the podcast. You can here about how tech savy Jake is, when he's talking about his Slingbox. Slingbox allows you to watch your television or your digital recorder through an internet connection anywhere in the world. Tech savy yes. Sneaky about how tech savy. Oh yeah.

And just one thing: BEAT LA!

PoP Quiz

Who's Who?

One pair played a couple on film.

One pair is a couple in real life.

And one is a couple of guys watching a game.

What is it about the courtside seats at the Lakers?

And Joe Jonas wanting Jake to play him?!?!?!????

Hustle and Flow

Today is all about the Hustle, if you don't like it you can skip it. You know like skipping work, skipping school, skipping stones, and of course like PG said skip to my lou. But do you know the last verse to Skip to my Lou?

Skip, skip, skip to the Lou,
Skip, skip, skip to the Lou,
Skip, skip, skip to the Lou,
Skip to the Lou, my darlin'.
Off to Texas,
Two by two,
Off to Texas,
Two by two,
Off to Texas,
Two by two,
Skip to my Lou, the darlin'.
Couples would dance around a lone male who sang "lost my partner, what'll I do." At the appropriate point in the lyrics, he would "steal" the partner of a dancing man as he sang "I'll find another one prettier than you."

And Lou? It is corruption of the Scottish word -loo or love.

Oh just skip it -- moving on.

There was a whole lot of moving and not a lot of grooving despite what gets out to the media over the last weekend. We've got three different reports, sightings and wayward children in various locations with various people. Continuity people! Come on hire a better script supervisor. Native American warriors shouldn't wear wrist watches in the Old West, and beards can't be trimmed and then all grow back in, in hours. Continuity!

Ok maybe just skip the continuity thing and get get on to skipping.

Skipping? Seriously. When's the last time anyone's skipped? What 7? By then you've realized - what the heck am I doing. But a couple skipping down the street? Next time we will hear about running in field of flowers in the English countryside. Or sweeping up on horseback all Darcy like. Ohhhhh Mr. Darcy... WAIT just skip that part...

Now Jake may get his skip on by himself. Can anyone say Lemon Twist. Oh yeah... that's right... going old school.... with the lemon twist - which later actually got the name change to Skip It. Hours of fun jumping and bumping, skipping swirling twirling. Hey! that's what the package says.

Skip it. Skip it good.

But actually Jake did skip it. He skipped out of town as soon as he could. And yeah he was hustling. Right back to London?

Now for more Halloween Hijinks, or costumes (fancy dress as they say in the UK) for Jakey.

Its all getting your dance on Jakey. And what better choices than:

Tony Manero - from Saturday Night Fever. Some time in the chair with those dark long locks Jake could get the hair lookiiinnnng gooooood. Just add the white suit and gold chain. Come on Jake's got the moves from disco club and he can sing his own accompaniment of Bee Gees' songs.

Next - Total Laker Dancer. You know he's thinking it as he's jogging. "I got the yellow shirt and the purple headband, I'm tight, toned, conditioned and I can even do a split after all this stuff for Prince of Persia. If Paula can I can. And my hair looks really good bouncing to the beat. " And yeah he's got spirit fingers. You know got that from Kiki. BRING IT ON!
