‏@MattRPRT
@AUS10NICHOLS @Roberta_Mancino thanks for getting on the call today...the project sounds fun...tell your fans to stand by :)

He's climbed up trees, rocks and canyons

Jumped in puddles, rivers and streams

Kissed an anchor

He's gone mile high and

Snorkled, scuba'd and ski'd

What's left for Action Austin?

Mountain biking the Himalayas?

Paddle boarding around Cape Horn?

 El Heffe doing El Capatan?

Zip lining across Costa Rica?

Canoes down  the Chattooga and Tallulah (oh wait ... too Deliverance?)

Is he the one who gets to swim with seals?

Or is he just finally get naked and back flip into the Pacific like he always threatens to do?

Honestly....

To those in the US, Happy Presidents' Day. Which we celebrate the birthday of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, two of our great presidents both born in February.

Now Austin's got the Lincoln part of the day covered. (Remember Lincoln Booth in Pedestrian?) And great news from SoGoPro, they're is moving ahead and recently had meeting with investors.

"Hilarie and I had a another pitch meeting last week with a local investor here in Wilmington… let me tell you something folks, I was nervous going in… it's kind of surreal in a way… here we are asking for mountains of money from complete strangers and for them to trust us that we won't squander their hard earned capitol. ...."
As a result of these meetings, we now have a couple of heavy hitters helping us out. These guys are huge additions to our team, not only very successful businessman in their own right but they also have great positive energy and more importantly they believe in us and our business model…We look forward to working with them for a long, long time. Over the next several weeks, we're going to have several more of these pitch meetings but I feel so much more confident of raising the funds needed for Pedestrian now that we have their support!" Onward, kt

Want to see Austin get his camera on and get in the spirit of photographer Lincoln. We haven't seen his creative side come out to play that much lately. Hope we do a little before OTH wraps in the next few weeks. Now for George? That's a toughie. the story most of us were taught was the fable about the young Washington and chopping down the cherry tree, with the famous line, "I can not tell a lie." Austin on the other hand, is a self professed liar. He's got some work there. But he does tell the truth that he's lying after the fact, complete with that you can't be mad at me grin.

Yes my pants are on fire.

Tonight on the Crazy Tree:
"At The Bottom Of Everything" (Maybe Everything should be the Barrel) Nathan tries to help The Real Housewife of Tree Hill Haley and Jamie deal with her mom/his grandma's seemingly hopeless situation,(Schwahn's song indeed) Brooke Davis(TM) and Julian navigate their volatile relationship in the midst of a hectic movie shoot. Which means again this week Brooke Davis(TM) whines cries and makes faces most of the show and tries to make Julian jealous while he tries to make a movie. But Julian make win this round of upping the stakes in "How do you 'them apples" poker, "running lines" with his leading lady. (How many people are hoping for this hook up) Meanwhile, Feats of Clay and Quinn spend some time apart, (YES!) Miranda tries to prove to the bartender that she’s the right person to produce his album. And on the everyone gets to direct on the scorecard, Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley) is up to bat with this episode.
And just have to say, love Julian and dad.

And what's a day off without somebody PoP'in by.
Here's a snap of the PoP action figures at the Toy Show in New York this week.

Starting to PoP

Jake and PoP'in crew lead the way in next month's
The first kernel has popped now get ready cause after the first few you know it just keeps coming and coming.

But this is a great look at PoP and we are finding out and clearing up a lot of speculations associated with it.

It wasn't Bruck who picked Jake for Dastan, but director Mike Newell who approached Bruckheimer with Jake in mind. And Bruck didn't blink.

With Newell having known Jake since he was little you can see how having someone who has known you most of your life directing you could be benefit when taking a leap into the biggest chance and biggest production of your career.

"But there no getting around it, dropping a $200 m franchise on the shoulders of a sleepy-eyed 27-year old who's barely thrown a punch in his career was another massive gamble. "Yeah it is," says Newell. "But I 've known Jake since he was little and I'd seen this quality on screen. He's not like John Wayne, who's this massive block of wood. Jake - you can always see into him. He has a very soft and gentle side to him. He's an action hero made in heaven."

Jake wants to be an action hero. "That what I would love to do. I have always wanted to do this - it's like a childhood dream. ...."

So is an action hero with a gentle side the action hero of the new millennium?

There's a lot more in the article, and just like there will be much much more PoPing up too.

Next week is the Toy Convention in New York, where toy manufacturers will be unveiling the toys for stores to buy for next Christmas. Betcha there's going to be a lot of PoP, and not just the kind you drink. But it does make you wonder if there is going to be a PoP pop. Hmmm Coke or Pepsi?

Your Hollywood Business Moment:
From Deadline Hollywood:

"I can't readily recall a direct link between a seasoned producer and a top-tier management firm like this, but Management 360 and The Mark Gordon Company have formed MG/360. It also cuts down on the likelihood of management company conflicts of interest and self-dealing. The venture is designed to develop projects using 360’s talent roster and Gordon’s producing expertise. The non-exclusive arrangement will initially focus on films — they’ve got a dozen projects in mind already — but will eventually encompass TV as well. Both sides will bring projects to the partnership, but neither will dismantle existing production operations."

"Gordon and 360 partner Guymon Casady told me the arrangement is an outgrowth of good experiences that Gordon Company’s Gordon and Bryan Zuriff had with 360 managers and clients on Source Code, The Details, and 2012."

Read the rest here.

Never realized that Kiki was in a part of 360 Management's client list.

Handful of Jake

Now four or six inches may not be a big handful to some, but for others it could be. But now four or six inches could be the chance to get Jake in the palm of your hand.
McFarlane Toys announced that they would be coming out with a be doing a line of action figures based on Prince of Persia.

There will be a 4" assortment of figures. All figures will fit with the horse boxed sets and play sets which are be sold separately. Two of play sets include the Horse Boxed Set Dastan with Aksh and Movie Playset Alamut Gate

Here is a sneak peek of 6" Desert Dastan.

If four inches isn't enough Jake for you, maybe six inches will do the trick.
The bigger figures will be fully articulate like their smaller counterpart but will include more costuming details and have a spring-loaded play action for unique weapons and accessories from the movie. In addition to the 6" Desert Dastan, there is a Warrior Dastan.

I don't know there is something about this figure that makes me think of this clip from Mel Brook's Men in Tights.

Jake is excited about the action figures and can't wait to get them.

Although Austin might be the best judge if things measure up. ; )

Action Figure

Jake has always said he wanted to be a superhero or do an action hero kind of movie. And it's that just one of the reasons he is doing Prince of Persia. And from all the gossip about auditions and items about his name up for various roles (Batman, Green Lantern, Captain America) he has been wanting to do it for a while. And his name has come up again, for the new Spiderman, now that studios have to decided that Tobey is not person to take Spiderman into the 10's. Jake was this close to playing Spidey before, but is he really up for the role again?

The word is that they wanted to make a younger Spidey and have floated names like Robert Pattinson and Zac Efron as next potential Peter Parker for 2012. But Jake's name has come up too. All three have the name to carry the next incarnation of the franchise. Yes Jake is younger than Tobey, but is he young enough to be the Spidey they want?

And would he do it if he's tied up with Prince of Persia? Would Bruckheimer let him, is the bigger question. Could you have two franchises at the same time? Was this one of the things Bruck was talking to Jakey about when they went out for Tuesday night hockey?

One thing in common about Spidey and Dastan is there are action figures for both. And looks like Jake has no problem being made in miniature and turned into a action figure. Honestly who wouldn't want to be turned into an action figure. (come on admit it) Jake says he will be first in line to buy the miniature version of himself for his Prince of Persia ones. “A lot of people find it weird to have little action figures of themselves, but I think it’s great. In fact it’s awesome! I can’t wait. I’m going to buy loads.”

But he, along with his rumored competitor for Spiderman Rob Pattinson are action figures in another way too. Both we will be a part of George Clooney's Hope for Haiti telethon this Friday. They will joining other stars to help to raise desperately needed funds for Haiti.

The two-hour telethon will air on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT as well as networks including PBS, TNT, Showtime, Comedy Central, Brave, E! Entertainment and more, with online live streaming available on YouTube, Hulu, MySpace and more domains as well.

Clooney will host from LA, CNN’s Anderson Cooper will report from Haiti and Wyclef Jean in New York City. According to E! Rob will present from London.

Some of the musical acts will include Wyclef, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira and Sting from NYC, from LA, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder and Taylor Swift Keith Urban, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow and from London, Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z and Rihanna and Coldplay.

This is one chance we all can be an action figure. The need in Haiti is so great, and every little bit no matter if it looks small to you makes a big difference when combined with other.

Some of you may have already donated, others will wait for the telethon, but if you want to donate and not sure where, here is a list of reputable agencies that will help take your gift and put it to good use helping the people of Haiti.

Let go my Lego

Announced at the New York Toy Fair over the weekend was a deal between Disney, Pixar and Lego. And what does that mean? That coming in April 2010 you will be able to build your own Prince of Persia world in Legos. A few Lego kits and you too can make the Kingdom of Dastan, Prince of Persia.

But will it come it with a Prince to put in the castle? Will Jake join the ranks of Harrison Ford be made into a Lego microfigure? But will they give the Prince that everyone wants? Sans shirt or will he be dressed in his white deep v t0 the abs wrap shirt? Would Lego do the abs and pecs in paint, and how much chest hair too much for the under 10 set?

If a Lego microfigure could be on the horizon, could an 11" action figure be far behind? The long hair to style, muscled and cut, but will it come with add on fuzzy for the authentic chest? With action grip? And a big saber? Will that become the hottest action figure in WeHo? Well the you know it would have to be looking more like this and maybe with that leather vest as an accessory.

Of course Jake will get to have all the different toys that they will make, and sounds like he has someone(s) at home who are big toy fans, or will be in the next few years. But will they make a special edition figure or two who look like someone else special?

And who wouldn't when he was just listed on TV's sexiest man list. Hello Mr. Nichols - you make 29 look damn good, and that's way before April.

Congratulations Austin!
