Lightbody

Whether John was an alien or a spiritual being,  Milch created scenes that showed an ethereal aura of light around John.

Milch loved using light with Austin

He treated John like a heavenly body,  and with a body that heavenly you can see why.

Austin Catch-up

In case you didn't get a chance to listen to Austin's podcast here are a few things you might have missed:

Austin said when he was playing Julian it was all Austin, he was more himself, then any other role he's played.

From the conversation, was far from his favorite project he's done.

David Milch encouraged him to write, so he would write scenes for John, and seal them in envelops and give them to Milch.

He has a writing partner, Ivan Shaw.

The two are writing a screenplay about a dark side of a 1980's game show host.
Austin's got the hair, and the corduroy suit, just grow out the 'stache.

Earlier in the week Austin tweeted about another new project:

My next film. You guys will like this. NOSTRADAMUS. Here are two possible posters. Which do you prefer? - AUS10

Thomas Ikimi wrote and directed this new film. NOSTRADAMUS. It is a great movie with a killer twist. Can't wait for you to see it. - AUS10

Not much known about the movie yet.  A few things,  the short was written and directed by Thomas Ikimi.  Ikimi was wrote, directed and edited the TV mini-series available for pick up earlier this year, The Temp that starred Austin.  Agent of Shield co-star Chloe is in Nostradamus. (It will be interesting to see if pictures from early this summer were actually from the project )

Poor Lords Rich Us

Austin's got a new project and it's with an old friend of John's

Austin is slated as part of the cast for Poor Lords.  And it's JFC's doctor
Garrett Delahunt confirmed as part of the cast too.

And the tag for this story:

When a wayward stripper and an overprotective sailor find themselves on the run together, they quickly discover that their past secrets have a way of catching up with them.

Poor Lords is a modern myth about two outcast lovers and the ethereal journey they take in search of a home they never had. Having strayed far from her strict religious upbringing, Ruth finds herself living a life she never intended as a low-class stripper, among other unmentionable things. Glenn is a Navy deserter in hiding, barely making ends meet as a custodian. When Glenn violently defends Ruth’s honor against a grabby patron, he loses his job and Ruth makes the impulse decision to run away with him. Troubles quickly mount as the marooned couple struggles to navigate their volatile relationship and fugitive status. Complicating things further is the scorned strip club manager - Jim - who won't let go of Ruth easily. A confluence of misadventures and narrow escapes leads them to a local river with mysterious power. Despite the young lovers’ deep affection, each must learn to trust the other through heartbreak, triumph, and the questionably random fates that befall us all.

Can't they just rewrite it and make Austin's the wayward stripper. Ruth works - Babe Ruth.  Now that's a stripper name.

Who wouldn't love a stripper with a big - bat -ehm swing!

And you know he believes in Sparkle Motion.

And you want bet he knows how to work a pole?

Going Mad

Not even a Twitter Tuesday but Austin went a little mad.

 The Mad Ones - AUS10

This is something Austin would find total fascinating.

Wanna bet he stayed behind the van as long as he could, just to read the whole rant?

Austin is a people watcher and an observer.  He wants to take it all in but it's the things that don't fit that capture his attention.

There's something a little JFC to it.  Maybe that's what inspired Milch to make Austin his John.

Friday Flash Back

An oldie but some may have not seen this one.

Check out Austin hook'em horns on the red carpet and oh yeah... Big Blue up close

Glory Road had it's premieres (It's Bruck, he loves to have move than one) in January 2006, and Austin was working on Deadwood. By the end of April he had a three year holding deal with HBO and Deadwood was cancelled before the last season aired in June that year, and Milch was already working on creating JFC.

And of course we know that Milch already had Austin in mind for John.

Deadwood
JFC

Austin talked about it on his interview with Jimmy Kimmel (which is sadly gone from YouTube)
