Prison(er) Release

Another to add to the Jake DVD collection,  Prisoners was released today both on DVD and Video On Demand.

Jake's new DVD is movie and that's it.  A total stand alone.  No outtakes, no behind the scenes, no additional scenes,  no special features.  Just the theatrical release.

For all Warner Bros effort to get award nominations, it makes you wonder why they didn't want to create something more for the consumer market.  Was it to make the rapidly increasing release timelines for movies to the DVD market that studios have to make now?  Was it that the quick film/edit/release track that Denis was on, that didn't allow for extras?  Or could it have been that both of it's main stars were schedules that were so tight and full of travel, there wasn't a lot of time to do extras or sit downs?

With a good box office and reviews Prisoners should do well without  the Special Features to entice people to buy, rent, or download.  While the theme is not exactly the feel good holiday stocking stuffer many will want to catch Jake's critically praised performance.

Speaking of stocking stuffers... the big guy will be coming to fill yours soon, and since it's Tuesday a little throwback to Two Wheel Tuesday to boot.

Roll Again

 The LA River Ride is  coming up on June 9th.  And it makes you wonder if Austin is going ever ride again.  He had a blast doing it a couple of years ago, but we haven't seen him two wheelin' in a while.

 Does (Tommy) Wheeler not Two Wheel?  Hello Ray?  

Gotta say Austin, this is the only video for this year's ride.  And it doesn't even come close your video trilogy.

Last year Austin was two wheeling in Israel. 

This year. Road trips to Wisconsin, lots of tweets and country songs....looks like Austin has a little time on his hand up while in Chicago.

 Jake shared the night with his co-stars and a diverse group of movie goers from Jake's friend Busy, to former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Olympic swimmers and gold medalists Conor Dwyer and Tyler Clary ,reality star Audrina Patridge, Dancing with the Stars dancer Karina Smirnoff, and Magic Mike dancing sensation Joe Manganiello. The movie might have been set in East LA, but it got a little 90210 with Jenny Garth hitting the red carpet. And you can't forget 50 Cent.
 
 
 

Another thing to notice are the quote from the reviews of the movie on the red carpet. No small print or small time media outlet. EoW is a hit with the biggies.

A Snappy Comeback

Austin get that booty out of the water and grab those suspenders (for you Brits -braces)  it's time to snap back.

It's a new fall season and it's time to see you pop up again.

Excited about what you will be doing with Ray Donovan.  But man can't live by a pilot alone.  Is there more to it?

What's in store Mr. Nichols?   Acting? Directing?

Or are you just going to hang at JuiceLand a while longer? 

You know maybe mix it up for a fall bike ride? Maybe on a Tuesday or something.

No one will ever forget what happened on this day, 11 years ago, but we can do more than remember it.  Don't let what happen on that day divide us and but let us seek to find unity and not division.

Ayers, Jake Mike and the cast really capture the day to day and the grittiness of a what it's like to "serve and protect" in LA.

Jake talked about what it took to get that authenticity at the screening on the Hamptons.

While Jake has taken on fewer projects in the last few years,  his devotion to his craft is still evident.   Jake no doubt is taking the same approach with the play which starts previews this Friday.

 Jake will be on Letterman next week to talk about the movie. Wonder what story he's got saved for Dave?
