Seriously?

Jake hit the red, well beige, carpet before last night's event honoring Paul Newman, and he was taking the signage a little too seriously it seems.

Well ok half of the signage. He got the serious down part.

Then finally got the second part of it and let out a bit of a smile for the fun part.

But looked like he was reserving that more for inside.

And yes it is Two Wheel Tuesday. Who knew there weren't just doubledecker buses in London.

All Dressed up?

Tonight Jake will join Elvis Costello, Tina Fey, Paul Simon, Jimmy Fallon, Josh Groban, Trisha Yearwood, Broadway star Natasha Yvette Williams, Hall in the Wall campers and others to celebrate Paul Newman's Dream at New York’s Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center, at 7:00pm, all to benefit Newman's Hole in Wall Camps, the family of camps and programs supporting children facing serious illnesses from around the world.

The 2010 celebration raised more than $3 million in support of the global community of camps and programs for children with serious illnesses and their families. Today, there are 14 member camps worldwide, with eight in the United States, five in Europe and one in Israel, as well as 10 programs in Africa, Asia and South America. Since 1988, over 350,000 children and families have been served from 50 countries by the Hall in the Wall Gang camps and programs.

The major supporter of tonight's event, Newman’s Own Foundation, carries on Newman's philanthropic legacy and commitment to helping make the world a better place by turning all net royalties and profits from the sale of Newman’s Own products into charitable donations. To date, Newman and Newman’s Own Foundation have given over $340 million to thousands of charities around the world.


We have heard many times the story of Newman giving Jake his first driving lesson, and Jake's telling of going around the track with him. And know that he held high regard for his godfather.

Tonight will give Jake another chance to honor the legacy of an amazing man who took his fame and celebrity and turned it into something more than entertaining people, but helping others as well.

At the New Yorker Festival in 2010 that several OMG'ers attended, Jake spoke about his famous godfather when talking about his future.

"Questions about his future made him contemplative. He might not always act, he admitted.

'There will be other things for me besides just acting, but I'll keep them to myself. Paul Newman is someone I always admired. What he did with his life was beyond his acting. He took that and he actually made a difference in the world. I would hope that could happen in my life,' he said thoughtfully, before a sly smile crossed his face. 'I think I could make a really good salad dressing, too.' "

Iconic performances, trademark blue eyes, intoxicating smiles, self deprecating humor.... there seem to be many parallels, besides making a good salad dressing.





There will post-show supper immediately following performance on the Grand Promenade, wonder who's salad dressing they will use?

Jake seems to have slipped into the concrete canyons of the city, but that doesn't mean he is or is sitting indoors mulling over movies, or avoiding the movie he was once floated with 'Now You See Me' that's filming on the Lower East Side... and since he's undercover... we'll just go all Bubble Boy on him.

but he also got to do a few more things before he flew back to the United States.

Yesterday, they were briefed by General Yossi Kupperwasser, the Deputy Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Strategic Affairs before they went to Masada and their swim in the Dead Sea.Sunday night they met with Minister Yuli Edelstein, Israel's Minister of Diaspora and Public Affairs. After the briefing they went to dinner at Eucalyptus Restaurant, and enjoyed the food and the explanation of the famous spices and foods of the Holy Land by the Master Chef Moshe Basson.

Today they met with a senior advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

And toured the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Museum.And spoke to the press about their time in Israel and posed for pictures with Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs Minister, Yuli Edelstein.
And yes, met more fans!

While Austin was meeting the press, was Jake making the press?New pictures of Jake from Saturday popped up this morning. Was he playing the "you see me here but I'm already gone" card to make it seem like he's in New York longer. Where or when will he pop up next?

Sweater Set

As it has happened before, it looks like embargoes that had been on some Jake pictures have ended and more have become available to share as the year is nearing the end.

With the seasons changing, how about a sweater to take off the chill? (or maybe cause a few)

Today is World AIDS Day.

The theme for World AIDS Day 2011 is "Getting to Zero."

After 30 years of the global fight against HIV/AIDS, this year the focus is on achieving 3 targets:

Zero new HIV infections
Zero discrimination
Zero AIDS-related deaths

It is estimated that 33.3 million people have HIV worldwide. Despite advances in HIV treatment and in laws designed to protect those living with HIV; many people do not know the facts about how to protect themselves and others from HIV or about the stigma and discrimination that remain a reality for many people living with HIV. World AIDS Day is an important reminder to individuals and governments that HIV has not gone away – there is still a vital need to raise money, increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education.

From the Mixed-Up Files of Mr. Jakey B Yillen-hoola-hay

Pics of Jake are always interesting, because in some way they fill in some of the story on what Jake's up to and sometimes they mix up the story.
It's not only what the pictures are about but when the pictures are seen that is the most interesting part of the story.

Are the lasted pictures another case of mixed up dates? Maybe they've thrown out the calendar along with the bathwater.

What could be mash up of From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler and Ramona & Beezus has the makings of the next kid tale.

How is it that Jake was out with little R and Mom, and no one tweeted about when Jake spilling his juice gets a tweet?

Could it be that it was tweeted about long before and the pictures got pulled out just now? Why?

And why would you run the pics this weekend? Was there something that needed explanation.

Just Jared says that Jake and Ramona went to Cafe Moomah, a very kids friendly cafe. So why did the Bachelorettte not mention Little Miss Pretty in Pink when she tweeted about seeing Jake coming into a kid friendly restaurant? It seems that it would seem so random to her then now would it.
Could it be that he came in by himself to meet someone(s) there. And after the tweet they needed a way to explain why he would be in a such a kid friendly place? So off to the picture files?

The only time there was a tweet of Jake hanging out with his favorite little lady was back on Oct 28th. Interestingly enough the weather that day was a brisk high in the upper 30's -low 40's with a chance of first snow the last day. Weather that you would see a puffy vests, and double jackets with gloves and wool beanies. This past Saturday it those kind of winterwear could have been an overkill with the temps in the 50's.Could there be any other reasons that Jake might need to make sure there were pics of him out and about in NYC?
