Take a Picture

May is Photography Month.

And while Jake seems not to like photographers much lately, and Austin seems to have this wild ability to not be seen by them. They do take pictures.

But interestingly.

Jake gets seen taking them while you never see what he takes (And no ....photoshoppin' doesn't count. )

While Austin shows what he's taken and never gets seen.

Call it the extrovert introvert factor?

What would really be interesting see how both would see the same thing behind the lens.

The only thing better...

Crop happens.

Sorry for the delay- hopefully all technical difficulties are resolved (at least for today).

It seems like Austin likes to have a little photo fun. (ahem) So we will have a little photo fun of our own with him.


It all comes down to the positive and negative. Look at what happens when crop happens.


Does it remind you of anything?


Does that mean you get candy when you suck on his neck? Would this explain trips to a medical office, it's going to see a dentist due too much candy?

Think we monkeyed with the picture that much - well here's the original. The pez effect - that's just Austin doing turtlenecks.

Point and Shoot

Seems like Austin is getting into the idea of being Lincoln Booth. Wonder if he's gotten bitten by the shutter bug yet. (For some subjects, that has to be a big YES YES YES). There's one kind of photograph he doesn't seem happy to see at all and that is Paparazzi photographers. If he knows they're there, the grin is gone and a I mean business stare down seems to appear. He truly defines his space and who's in it with him, with just one look. Almost to say don't even think about it asshole.

Makes you wonder what kind of pictures that Austin would take to prep for his role. Seems like Lincoln is not a pap, but you wonder if Austin would like to turn the tables and take some pictures of his "adversaries" in real life.

Such an observer of people you wonder it will be people and kind of day in the life of the city pictures.

Someone with a keen eye of art, would he take picture of things that appear artistic? And what would that be? Fading signs on the side of a building? A dirty puddle with a prism of sun reflecting in it? The beauty of a building? The curve of a door handle?

Then there's a person communes with nature whether in the water, or just lying on the grass reading in a park. Would he take pictures of a wave breaking in the morning sun? The wind bending the branches of trees? Or maybe the beauty of a hidden oasis steps from a house?

Or will he just take pictures of those smiles and grins and eyes that reflects back to him all that he gives to them.

And you know those boots were going to be a bitch in the TSA line.


But it looks like Jake is getting away for a few days - an being the seasoned traveler or maybe he didn't want to spring for the extra 15 bucks to check he luggage, he is taking all in hand. Here's hoping he has some fun with friends and family.


And it looks like Jake was mixing more business and pleasure on his trip to Venice Beach with friends. And not how you think. Looks like Jake was doing a photoshoot on 5th in West LA from the call sheet (thanks RC) where he was crossed off. Now if hanging out with Matt and friends can make Jake look this happy and at ease. Can't imagine how good he looked for the pictures.
Will we is the question. And if so.... when?

Sorry for the delay - but my internet provider and I are going to have a little rumble this afternoon about my service problems.


But better late than never when it come to Austin Fridays.

It sounds like Austin's new character Lincoln is a photographer. Does that mean that Austin is going to grab a camera a start taking pictures to get the perspective of a photographer? Is he a photographer already?

Would he ask Matt for pointers? Would he use his own pictures to be Lincoln's?

What kind of pictures do you think he would take? Nature? Portraits? Arty Surrealism? Photojournalistic? Action? Urban Cityscapes? Laid back seaside? Or would he turn the tables and be a paparazzi for practice?

And what do you think he's favorite subject would be?

Somehow you can see him building a portfolio worthy of a photographer just as part of the process, and coming away with something completely uniquely him.

Would we be so lucky to see any of his work?
