Not a crawl but a sprint

 PR is full swing for Nightcrawler by the looks at the number of interviews with Jake at the moment and it's not slowing down.

Here are a few to choose from:

Jake was also on Queen Latifah's talk show with his co-star Rene Russo, who made a disclosure that she is bipolar which was unaware to even Jake.

But don't think all of Jake's interviews are only on tape.

Jake's been added as a featured speaker at the Producers Guild of America’s inaugural Produced by: New York event.

PGA President Emeritus Hawk Koch will moderate the one-on-one discussion with Jake who didn't just take on the acting role for the movie but was on the producers .


"Produced By: New York will feature 12 full conference sessions, panel discussions, mentoring roundtables and networking opportunities designed to address key industry topics and discuss the evolving world of producing."


Produced By: New York will take place at the Time Warner Center in NYC on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Working for the Weekend

It was a working weekend for Jake who arrived back in LA sometime before Saturday morning after filming Demolition on Friday in NYC.

Looking a bit tired Jake hit a two day press junket for Nightcrawler Saturday and Sunday and spent his Columbus Day taping interviews.

He also squeezed in the special screening of the movie in Saturday night.  Talk about a packed three day weekend.

Jake was scheduled to tape the Queen Latifah show for later date, but chatter on twitter suggested he was also over at Warner Brothers stopping in at both Conan and Ellen as well.   No official word on either, and nothing on their schedules be on the lookout for interviews in this second half of  October before Nightcrawler opens on the 31st.

Commercials are starting to be seen on TV here in the States as the ramp up to open weekend has official begun.

Not to be left out, Nightcrawler also released a new clip for the Internet.

Starting to PoP

Jake and PoP'in crew lead the way in next month's
The first kernel has popped now get ready cause after the first few you know it just keeps coming and coming.

But this is a great look at PoP and we are finding out and clearing up a lot of speculations associated with it.

It wasn't Bruck who picked Jake for Dastan, but director Mike Newell who approached Bruckheimer with Jake in mind. And Bruck didn't blink.

With Newell having known Jake since he was little you can see how having someone who has known you most of your life directing you could be benefit when taking a leap into the biggest chance and biggest production of your career.

"But there no getting around it, dropping a $200 m franchise on the shoulders of a sleepy-eyed 27-year old who's barely thrown a punch in his career was another massive gamble. "Yeah it is," says Newell. "But I 've known Jake since he was little and I'd seen this quality on screen. He's not like John Wayne, who's this massive block of wood. Jake - you can always see into him. He has a very soft and gentle side to him. He's an action hero made in heaven."

Jake wants to be an action hero. "That what I would love to do. I have always wanted to do this - it's like a childhood dream. ...."

So is an action hero with a gentle side the action hero of the new millennium?

There's a lot more in the article, and just like there will be much much more PoPing up too.

Next week is the Toy Convention in New York, where toy manufacturers will be unveiling the toys for stores to buy for next Christmas. Betcha there's going to be a lot of PoP, and not just the kind you drink. But it does make you wonder if there is going to be a PoP pop. Hmmm Coke or Pepsi?

It also cuts down on the likelihood of management company conflicts of interest and self-dealing. The venture is designed to develop projects using 360’s talent roster and Gordon’s producing expertise. The non-exclusive arrangement will initially focus on films — they’ve got a dozen projects in mind already — but will eventually encompass TV as well. Both sides will bring projects to the partnership, but neither will dismantle existing production operations."

"Gordon and 360 partner Guymon Casady told me the arrangement is an outgrowth of good experiences that Gordon Company’s Gordon and Bryan Zuriff had with 360 managers and clients on Source Code, The Details, and 2012."

Come Blow Your Horn

Despite famous friends, success and growing as better actor each role he takes, Austin doesn't toot his own horn. Far from it. But why?

Looking at his interviews, he comes off as, bright, engaging, down to earth, a little self deprecating paired with wit, dashing charm and flirtatious fun. Come on, he's a great interview. He charms everyone he talks to, and that smile doesn't hurt. But it makes you wonder why there is such radio silence .

Agents are dying to find a client who is not only handsome but who can actually speak to the press. Why is that his agents aren't out there trying to get him press? Austin's no shy guy. If you were an upcoming young actor in Hollywood wouldn't you be out to make a name for yourself even if you didn't have any projects at the moment.

It is not laziness or disinterest. Is it contentment?

Is he just looking at the parts and not the fame ?

Has he learned what the price of fame is from those around him and doesn't want it?
