Wrecking Ball*

I didn't lose a shoe, but they are making it look like I have to find  the lady who did.

They said this is a friend

 But it's family

And the other?  The dogs and the cops have enough room to pass through.

*and just about as subtle

Missed 'em by that much

.... or is that just by whisker?

The buzz is still going about Jake almost running into Reese in the parking lot after her hair 'do appointment and that gets the wheels of inspiration  working.

If there's so much buzz about Jake missing Reese,  what would happen if  he started missing all the ladies linked to him?

Walking past Jenny Lewis at a Ke$ha concert in Calabasas

Two cars behind Kiki at a White Castle in Cherry Hill NJ.

Barely missing Jen Aniston at a Camo pants launch party at Kitson.

Missing Natalie by minutes at organic kale cooking class in Brooklyn

Walking out as Rashida was walking for a Mod Squad marathon at the Arclight.

He and Minka in different beer lines on a Friday Night at Fenway Park

Missing Katie Holmes at a Martha Stewart Scrapbooking workshop

Checking out while Emily D was walking at a Jockey Outlet Store in Paramus.

and  Taylor at a creative writing workshop at the Univ of Rhode Island extension school.

Feeling it out

Remember those worksheets from school that were about opposites, or feelings, or comparing two things?  Well here's your homework.

Place the corresponding emotional (Happy or Sad) to each picture

Fill in the sentence with the word happy or sad.

When Jake touches a girl he looks ..........

When Jake is just near Austin he is .........

Make out Map

To: Jake

From: Management

Re: PDA plan

As previously determined PDA will be engaged at the Barnes & Noble (you both will receive a 20% friends and family discount on anything purchased)  Location is key. While maximizing visibility, the right location is crucial. Remember: Location, Location, Location

Women's Studies is not kind of women studies we want you making out by, we want more like the variety of magazines with women on the front that men say they are buying for the articles.

It is risky can alienate women, men and even your date.

No PDA near SI competitors that includes FHM, and Maxim.  Good for selling the faux, but risky if the model on the front is a competitor/prettier/skinnier/blonder/etc than your date.

Avoid the self help section, gender studies, and how-to books - Rife for snark.

Think again about the romance section because while it might fit well, it can make it look like a giant pink anvil hitting people over the head.  The mystery section should be avoided because of the potential subliminal suggestion about you hiding something.

Classical literature is a good choice, but no Doctor Faustus.

Military history and Automobile sections are more acceptable areas for public displays of affection.   Spirituality - ok, making out near religious texts - no.  Health and Fitness - good, Home Decorating - no. Cooking and baking are a push.

General interest magazines, new releases, and best sellers best bets with high foot traffic and visibility.

Sections completely off limits are:
 Parenting
LGBT literature
Children's section
Family planning
and the book, DVD, or CD of Free to Be You and Me.

Instore Starbucks doesn't count. - You're not even trying to put any effort into it.

Please text the office when you arrive and then text again when you begin your PDA so our "shoppers" will be alerted to look and tweet.

Jakey you could just avoid all of this and go to Borders (with a tall Texan).   Then you could make out anywhere you want, no one would mind.

 Not one bit.

Now or Later

A little bit of a detour from the average Friday...

So why now?

If it's a Disney thing, why now? Later  maybe. But before production even starts?  Isn't that kind of a waste?

And why would you faux it up and alienate a large part of your audience when studios are clamoring for every ticket buyer they can get ?  Especially when it is part of a guaranteed audience who liked the original Broadway musical?

Why would an openly gay director make one of his stars hide?

Woods is different than PoP.  PoP was designed as a tent pole franchise to sell product and had a much younger target audience.  Like 6-16.  Who are musicals made for?  Usually older than 6 let's say.

Now could it be that this is more for something coming out, let's say in about 8 weeks?  A big movie that really hasn't had much publicity yet? One that has a lead star running " 'round the county" trying to deny something with such fervor.

Could it be that they don't want any speculation about any other member of the cast less it draw attention to them?

Hmmmm.....

And because it wouldn't be Friday.....

You're welcome.

Making Something out of Nothing

A couple cups of coffee, some apples and an ice cream cone and bam you have a whole album.

Really?

Ohh artistic license huh, that's what you call it.

Well using artistic license the others could cash in on too:

Like  Reese who could come out with a collectable plates with real faux gold trim like:
The Martha's Vineyard Summer Plate
The Italy Autumn piggyback plate
The Summer in Paris garden plate
The Spring who cares where plate

Maybe Sophia will go with a line of  origami animals made from all the print outs of recycled tweets, Zap2it, Just Jared posts and friends wedding plus one invitations.

and

Kiki?

Sad haikus about shopping, soup and Joan's on 3rd

Friends and fauxs

So what do you do when the contract's up and the faux finishes?

Do you avoid each other?  Do you play nice?  What is the etiquette for this kind of thing?

For Jake the contract has been cut short a couple of times and have being dumped (Reese) and doing the dumping (hello Swifty) it's a tough call.  But it seems that Jake has been courteous if need and all business when and if he runs into them at event.

Now Austin is where it differs.  It seems like after the closing date on  contracts it's not all faux and go, but some friendly moments.

A few tweets here and there and then today Austin bumped into his former co-star after the gym, greeting with a hug and waits while she grabs a coffee.

But does that sound like a former beau that got dumped? Because it sounds more like a girlfriend meet and greet.

While HuffPo is trying to float that the faux could rise again, it seems nothing more than running into a former co-worker.  We know how Soph loves to PR' it up when a new season starts, and a new series, double that love.

So going to The Godfather, the I-Ching of movies -- " It's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly business."

The best part of the whole thing?  When do you see Austin in baggy shorts and flip flops?

Something minky hinky going on...

So how does the new "date" connect with Jake's long standing one?

Three words

Friday Night Lights.

Yup, one was a lead, and one had a recurring guest role.  Who could it be?

This guy.

And where did they film it?

Right here.

It's been said before......All things connect.

He's Great, It's Great, and Doing Great Stuff

Yesterday it was stunts ,chases, and cars for the EoW crew.

"Crashing cars & speeding through the streets of South Central today on set"

Another tweet from the same person, who's working on the film, commented on how great it is to work with Jake.

"Jake Gyllenhaal is great to work with on 'End of Watch' "

Speaking of great. Jake and Duncan are getting more great words for Source Code. Cinematic Method has Source Code at the top of their Power Rankings for best movies this year, and they say Jake has a lot to do with it.

His confusion and frustration at the start make you get into this movie right away, and when the intensity gets cranked up so does Jake making this movie an incredible ride.
There is something about Source Code's success, how it all came together and how everything clicked. Jake and Duncan, the story, the script, the characters, the cast, the filming, the timing.

But something else to think about. For the first time since Zodiac, Source Code was the first movie were Jake was not tied to or associated in a fauxmance, during filming and promoting it. And it made a difference.

There wasn't another acting component that Jake had to do while working on a film. There wasn't another layer or wall or mask or job or whatever you want to call it to defuse that energy from where his performance comes.
Source Code was him just living his life and working, not pretending to have a different life. While it can not be quantified, that change of energy makes a difference and comes through in performances. And it shows!!

Hey Jake next time they try to talk to you about going faux, you bring that up to them as another reason to Say No 2 Faux!

Giving him his "Do"

While Austin's co-star walked away with the "Do Something Award" for twitter, you are not in the shadows, we know who did it first. You were tweeting and sending out the message about wanting to make people aware about what's going on.

You do it without getting preachy, sanctimonious, or bullying. It is done with good intentions and with whole lot of wit and wisdom.

OMG doesn't have a red carpet or an award to grab, and you already bought yourself a "brand new 4- door sedan"
but we can give you this

and a
SAAAAA- LUTE!

Well Done Mr. Nichols (and a well done on a car tweet that says - "I was in LA last week, just not when I was expected to be")
