It's been a while since Jake filmed Demolition but it's that time again, another release, and Jake's been doing press for the movie for the past few weeks.

Demolition premiere last fall at the Toronto International Film Festival and got great reviews.  The movie seems to bring Jake back to what he does well,  not the flawed character that he tends to lean toward, but another movie that is just outside the line of mainstream.

Great to see back to what he seems to love to do, and he seems to look like he is back to that great Jake in interviews.

And even better back to see this guy with this fella in not only the same state, the same city but in the same dang space.

Talk about breaking it down and going back to the beginning.

And as for that Texas size temptation -  he's done some "Walking" in Denver this weekend.

Who's Jake With - Round 2  Festival Edition

It's a twit pic from the premiere of Source Code March 11,2011 in Austin  at SXSW.

Jake was awful smiley that whole time and there was discussion that it just wasn't about the movie or location.

So who is the dark haired, taller long limb fella to Jake's right?

Who fits that description and happens to be from Austin?

Hmmmm.....

Since it is SXSW,  how about a little Texas flashback for Jake.

Two years ago Jake was hit at SXSW

  but this weekend it looks like it's Austin's turn to make a splash in his hometown.

SHOWTIME has created a unique brand experience  at SXSW and is having a special watch party to show off their newest show Ray Donovan this first weekend of the festival.

SHOWTIME has created a multi-platform SXSW GO app for attendees to  share their schedule, network with others, and navigate the convention for the event and have  network-branded film buses shuttling throughout the city, including a Ray Donovan bus along with ones for Homeland, Shameless, Dexter,  an exclusive, invite-only lounge at the W Hotel Austin for this weekend, and a special, invitation only first-ever watch party of the highly-anticipated new drama series Ray Donovan on Saturday night followed by an after party.

Do you think Austin's going to miss that?  In his beloved Austin?

What a role to debut in your hometown.  An A-listed actors who likes ladies with a little more under their skirts.

Is Austin ready for this Austin?

North by Northeast

Will we officially see Jake at SXSW this year? Or has his already been done and back?

With Mumford and Son's documentary about their musical train trip debuting at SXSW you'd think Jake would want to check it out since he was a part of the folkie wheels of steel tour? But maybe it's another one that's done too.

The real question is has Jake already been down (to Austin) and back for a New York minute to see Sis and be seen too? And why be seen now? Because it makes for a great backstory that he has been in NYC this whole time. But funny how those sweet cheeks never graced a SoulCycle seat all week.

By this point even those who's scissors aren't sharp have figured out that it's all about misdirection. And while the flurry of Jake bubbled up early this week, it was the perfection diversion to get 'all out of Dodge
(or NYC as the case may be) and head back to the ranch/house/Big Lone Star for a Howdy! And with so much happening in A-town right now who would notice?

Seems like Jake made sure to cover his NYC bases.

Jake might have been premiere Source Code but that doesn't mean that was the only Jake movie connection this weekend.


Pee Wee Herman(Paul Reubens) was speaking at a panel discussion on Saturday and the movie Nailed, in which he and Jake worked on came up.
Reported by IndieWire, he gave great praise to both Jake and Jessica for the leading roles in the film.

“I would go home every single night in awe of both leads in the movie, I just could not believe what they were doing. As an actor, what they’re doing is very, very complicated and complex. It’s really hard to pull off what they did. You have to be effortless, but it’s really hard to do,” Reubens said. “And I’ve never seen anybody be so successful with something that complicated [as Gyllenhaal was]. And Jessica Biel is literally—I hate this word, but I can’t think of another word to use—is like a revelation. She’s so incredibly good in the movie, and again, no one’s ever seen her do anything like this… This is like an ingenue. It’s almost like Dorothy in ‘The Wizard Of Oz.’”"Duncan, that was Nailed Pee Wee

Will Nailed ever be released? Herman said that he had heard that Russell is trying to get the film buried. The movie still without an ending scene has set on the shelf since 2008, due to lack of funding. Now that is been bought out by another production group, Russell has removed himself from the film entirely. The screening as far from the final version, and now that Russell has had recent success from The Fighter, he wants to forget the past.

“It’s a great film. I think there’s a great film waiting to come out there [but] I’ve heard from a lot of people recently, that what’s been screened recently is a compilation, it’s not really an edited version and David is taking his name off and has disassociated himself with the film. I heard a rumor last night that someone is actually trying to bury the film because he’s become so successful now,”

But that's far from what is happening with Source Code, which is getting good reviews and Jake getting much praise for his performance, and on is track for success at the box office.

Some movie trivia:
Source Code has something in common with TDAT besides filming in Montreal, producer Mark Gordon. Source Code was a project that had been in looking for a director and a go for two year.

"Mark Gordon was producing the film and he was developing it with Jordan Wynn. They sent the script to me and after the first ten pages I said “What…is…going…on?” It’s totally up my alley. I hadn’t explored a world like that in a while so it was like finding water in a desert. The story works in a way I love my mind to work.

There was no clear director on it, but it was an amazing script. It really depended on who took the helm. I was in a couple of other movies and then Mark finally said “Listen, who would you love to make this movie with?” A few months prior, I had met with Duncan Jones. I had seen Moon and thought it was incredible. So he came to mind and I told Mark he would be good, but I didn’t think it could happen. We tried, and within a week, Duncan called back and said he wanted to make it. Within four months we started making Source Code. But was Gordon the only one from TDAT to catch Source Code in Austin?

That's odd it looked like Jake had a seat on the aisle 9th row on the floor.

So why would Jake need the balcony for himself at The Paramount?

Space to stretch out? For all the people he's met on the "frequent visits" to Austin he has mentioned in some of the interviews?

Or was it for someone special. Maybe an certain Austinite who likes movies, (alot) and family and friends from Texas.



Jake didn't want to them to take up all those good seats on the floor of course.

An old theater such as The Paramount the large balcony that comes out so far over the floor seats that standing on the main floor you can't really see who is sitting up high in the balcony and with the lights out -who can see.

And access to balcony is by separate staircases located at the sides of the lobby in not in the theater where everyone else is trying to get to a seat.

Just something to think about.

No walk of shame here.

Just unbutton those chest pockets and people will think you're wearing a different shirt.





Then again they might just focus on that grin you've been sporting the whole time you've been in town.
