Kinston is about 85 miles due north of Wilmington, so it was total ROAD TRIP.
And with a road trip you gotta get some eats. - Who says country fried steak and hush puppies aren't a bad perk of scouting.
For Austin having a episode full of flashback for his directorial debut looked like he got a bit of raw deal,
but now he gets the reward.
Not only doing some shooting on location, he gets a guest star as well, and not any guest start, but the return of Chad Michael Murrary aka Lucas Scott to the Crazy Tree.
And with Lucas coming back it will be one episode that many will be tuning in to see. Big episode means a really big opportunity for Austin to show off his directing skills.
And who knows, it could lead to other directing jobs in TV after OTH wraps.
Or maybe Dancing with the Stars... say whaaaaaaaaaa?
This morning Rob Fleming an exec at The CW, tweeted asking who from the The CW would they like to see on DWTS, and many said Austin.
With his long lean frame and that carriage he has, he would look great on the dance floor.
The outfits? You could see him having a blast with.. but the rhythm, well... what do you think?
Of course, Jake could give him some tips with moves like this.
But maybe not this for prime time.

The way I've seen Jake move those hips on Fallon and in Jarhead, I have no doubt the judges would be amply impressed. Samba anyone? Talk about Choluha Hot.

Austin directing Chad Michael Murray. Now that has to be Karma. Good for Austin that he gets another chance. I think he has a good shot at a directing career.
I can see Austin being a very good dancer. Jake too, when he lets the real person out. Like I've said before, even though I observed what being closeted was all about, seeing my protege when he is free to be himself vs guarding his behavior has been an absolute revelation. I cant even imagine what it's like when the stakes are so high - A-list, millions of dollars.
As much fun as I have with Jake and dancing - those long legs of his would look great on the dance too.
And Congrats to Austin's former co-star Ed O'Neill on getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday.

Tom and Destiny, I just read that Franco has dropped out of the Broadway production of Sweet Bird so I guess I can stop checking for tickets once a week. I don't need to see Kidman. Hubby and I do still want to get back to the City for a visit. Now that he is retired (yesterday was his last day of work), we will take short trips more often but the big vacation starts next week so I wont be planning anything until after that.
Don Lemon spoke to NPR last week about his new role and responsibilities as a gay public figure.
It's been just three months since the CNN anchor publicly came out in his memoir "Transparent" in May. In a phone interview, Lemon told NPR, "It's been interesting just to watch, and I feel free, and all those things, all those wonderful things they say when you finally get something off your chest."
But Lemon also called his role "a big responsibility," remarking, "I've been asked to do almost every single event that has to do with the community of prominence in the country." On of these was the annual convention of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association, where he was one of the keynote speakers on Saturday.
The new role is one that Lemon seems to have embraced. He said, "I think it's important for me to have a presence there and for me to actually walk in and own it and for all those journalists who are there, to say to them, like, not only that it's okay, but thank you for your support."
He also dismissed observers who have questioned whether he should cover LGBT issues in the news. When asked if his coming out has affected how the public or sources relate to him, Lemon responded, "I think it gives me a knowledge about those issues that many people don't have, so if someone says something that's bogus or inaccurate, then I can call them out and I can say, listen, that's not quite accurate."
m how awesome would it be to see NPH or Bomer do a play or interview in NYC. A Rufus Wainwright or a Adam Lambert concert would be fun. Congrats to your husband on his retirement. It would be great to see you both again. Have fun on your vacation.

I was also under the impression that it's not the job of a journalistic outlet to merely help a celebrity hopelessly shill some upcoming project, which is basically the role that Entertainment Weekly has been reduced to here.
Shorter EW Anderson Cooper interview: "I hate it when reporters talk about their personal lives, and I don't talk about mine, except when I'm talking about the death of my dad or the suicide of my brother — but I just might come out as gay if you tune into watch my new show!"
Hadn't heard about Franco dropping out but not surprised, bet they had trouble raising money, plus the Oscar fiasco may have shown a lack of the skills needed for the stage. Hope you and your hubby will find another reason to visit soon M.l
