Ready Steady Go

The comings???????

Look likes Jake's going to do Broadway and handle some balls one way or another.

It might be the Jets that beat Damn Yankees to get Jakey first on film. It is being reporting that James Mangold director of Walk the Line might be directing Jake in the Joe Namath biopic. OMG first guessed way back in August 2007 and then the guess looked like a good one in November 2007.

Mangold currently has nothing on his shooting schedule and once Source Code wraps at the end of the month, Jake just has promotions for PoP and Love and Other Drugs on his. Universal wants to make sure that David Hollander's script is ready to go before it moves into production but the fact Mangold has come on board the project could be the sign that it might go into production sooner rather than later.

Damn Jake, being a Red Sox and Patriots fan, you can really pick 'em, can't you. The Yankees and the Jets.

And Jake can hold is own now if they go for another Battle Bowl Jake vs. Joe Action figures now that Jake has the cool weaponry and the parkour edge. And the legs for those pantyhose? You decide.

And the goings?????????

Yesterday there was a mention of Sophia being cast for a pilot with Don Johnson and Mary Steenbergen (one of Jake's old Vineyard neighbors) for ABC. So what's the deal with OTH then? Well.... there's a little difference of opinions. But here's what's known for sure. No decision has been made yet, but will be soon. That the odds for the show are pretty much 50/50. And that if OTH is renewed her deal with ABC is a no go.

"They're going to put us up against CSI New Age: Sandalwood & Sage?"

Now the rest of the story.

Zap2it is saying that OTH is competing against Life Unexpected for renewal. According to Zap2it readers, TV viewers do want OTH back, but not at the expense of canceling LUX.

Over on E with Kristin says it may no longer be true that they are competing against each other. One of her sources is saying it's looking likely at this point that OTH and LUX would each 13 episodes.

How many time jumps could OTH could in 13 episode? Jamie's college graduation and marry Lucas & Peyton's daughter to set up OTH: The Next Generation? Julian a big time producer winning an Oscar and geting a new younger version of Brooke Davis(TM)? Brooke Davis (TM) and Victoria doing their own version Grey Gardens?

Another one of her insider calls OTH's chances "better than 50/50." Nothing's set in stone and The CW has until May 19 to announce its fall lineup to advertisers.

"Listen the next time jump I'm playing Julian."

It's a wait and see.

What do you think Austin is hoping for? Coming or Going?

Battle Bowl Round One: Action Figure Face Off

It is being reported that it is confirmed that Jake will be playing Broadway Joe Namath in a biopic.

So what happens when two icons of manliness, the ancient warrior meets the gridiron superstar, meet? Only one thing can happen .

Two Men Enter

One Man Leaves

Hey Kid - you're looking kind of small there.

I am the Prince of Persia! Time bows before me.

That's the only thing that could bow at those square feet. I'm a quarterback, a Superstar, a Jet! Look at me I have bendable knees and a throwing arm.

Well I have an Ostrich!

And Warrriors!

Hey there, I don't mean to get you all ruffled up. I'm just tell you I got the inches. 12 inches.
And the way with the ladies.

I have a Princess! Princess Tamina.

She look a little stiff and thick. Now I had a Texan! The fair Farrah.

And I have 12 cool Mod- About Town Outfits. Like this Disco Suit!

I make my men wear the risky fashion outfits!

And I have an Ostrich!
And Warriors!

And ... and a Camel!

I have Johnny Unitas! Wait whoa, whoa. It's not what it looks like.
You know its just locker room stuff.
Unitas, the square, even wore his uniform in the steam room.

I have a shirt that shows off my mainly hairy chest and tight pants and codpiece.

Listen kid, been there, done that , and had the blonde first. And I mean had the blonde.
And I leave the cup in the locker. Damn... I look good man.

My pants are tighter!
And I have an Ostrich!
And Warriors!
And a Camel!

A Catalog Spread with Chicks!

The Internet! .........Twwwwwwwwittttter!

Jogged Memory

Not so long ago, the word was Jake was picked to play Joe Namath, and as much disbelief and discussion about him being a Persian prince popped up, so did the arguement he's not big enough to play Broadway Joe. Maybe that's the reason things are done in certain order, do one PoP, easily transition into athlete mode, and then be ready for PoP2 without too much work. Have you notice the side burns a little longer? Just like my old Sport and Shave Ken Doll. And the slightly shorter shorts . Is he trying to show off that his legs are going to look as good in pantyhose as Joe's did?

Or this about a different kind of Pop of now 2 and not being so Poppin' fresh this time around?

Now something to jog your memory and maybe the final clue to seal the deal on a very popular picture.

We seen this:

But what do you think of this?

Why does this picture always make me want to whistle "head and shoulders, knees and toes" ? Oh maybe because that's what got cropped out trying to disguise the source of 68++ inches of fun.

The Devil Made Me Do It

You may think he's an angel but there's more devil in that man than most realize or want to admit. Tonight we get to see Austin show more of his bad boy side as Julian in another episode of One Tree Hill. Austin's gotten some great mentions from just the first look at Julian, and it shows that he's getting recognition for great acting. It just stands apart, you can just see the talent. You have to believe that he'll be getting more coverage about his performance in the weeks and months to come.

Episode 6.09 "Sympathy for the Devil"
Summary: In a flashback scene, Peyton meets Julian for the first time as soon as she leaves Lucas' book signing in LA. (credit: Austin Nichols Journal/Spooky)

OTH has completed new episodes for the entire month of November, and then will be in reruns until returning after the first of the year with new episodes. What are the sweeps (February) without some devilish fun.
Now some may say that Austin's made a deal with the devil, or that Jake's the devil, or this hair cut on Austin makes his forehead have a horn pattern. Oh 666 it no more! Damien or Little Nicky they aren't but you know together they make sinning look a hell of a lot of fun.

Rick and Steve," the happiest gay couple in the world" on Logo were trying to think up Halloween costumes, and they think of Jake as Jesus would be a Sexy Savior and perfect to go with the Hot Hot Devil. Check it out.

There are pictures out of Gemma back in Morocco, you think Jesus and the Devil, oh you know who I mean, could be doing the whole new Twist on the Temptation in the Desert too?

Of course in the future if they get caught they can just say "they devil made me do it" and cover all their bases. Thank you Ms. Geraldine Jones.

You think they'll put this into the Namath movie? Cause this would be hysterical to see Jake get try to pull this off. Oh Tracy Morgan be his Geraldine!

Jesus, Joe, Jake, Austin AND Geraldine in one post - " Ohhhhh, now that's just too much honey!"

Tomorrow: Dates for JFC Discussion, OMG Movie Club, and OMG Cooking Klatch

Joe Cool

At 21, he was a star. At 25, he was a legend.

Joe or Jake?

Not just one of the most famous quarterbacks of all time Joe Namath was a rock star when sports didn't have rock stars. The clothes, the hair, the women. He was a star on and off the field, he blazed his own path, he brought showbiz to sports and made no apologies doing so.

He was a lovable rogue, admired by men and adored by women. It was a time when he could get away with "I like my Johnnie Walker Red and my women blonde," and not be bashed by some women's group.

Looks like Jake might play that charming rogue many suggested he try.

"The late `60s and the early `70s were times of compelling social and political upheaval," wrote Tony Kornheiser in Inside Sports, "and Namath, with his anti-establishment shaggy hair, mustache, white shoes and Life-Is-a-Bacchanal philosophy, became a symbol of inevitable, triumphant change. The antihero."

His football career started in growing up in Beaver Falls, PA. Joe enrolled at Alabama to play college football for Coach Bear Bryant. The legendary Bryant would one day call his rebellious quarterback "the greatest athlete I ever coached."

Namath has the presence of a star," Jet's owner Sonny Werblin once said. Werblin saw more than Namath's passing arm. "You know how a real star lights up the room when he comes in. Joe has that quality."

Sounds a lot like comments that have been about Jake.

His endorsements kept him comfortable, with his pantyhose spots and his shaving off his mustache for $10,000 being his most famous commercials. He acted in movies and on television as well as in the theater, but was not another Olivier.

Over thirty years have past by since he guaranteed a victory in the Super Bowl, then delivered it. Still revered as one of the greatest football players of all time.

Jake has some big shoes to step into not only portraying Namath as the legendary ladies man, but the star athlete. He might have to get some pointers from one of the greatest quarterbacks playing the game today, I don't think Jake would mind asking Tom Brady for some technical pointers. He might might even find Brady reminding him of someone ... perhaps a tall Texan?

Namath outgrew his Broadway Joe image a long time ago. Today he is seeking to finish his college degree, striving to rear two kind, caring, confident daughters, struggling to be a holier, humbler person and mostly staying clear of the spotlight, which he neither needs for financial subsistence nor craves.

What Broadway Joe really yearns to be is your average Joe. But whenever he steps out in his capacity as an ambassador of the Jets or to help one charity or another, an adoring public will not let him. It has locked him in a time capsule, his image as a cocksure quarterback with crumbling knees petrified for posterity. "The reality of it, excuse me, is when you're in the public they already have a perception of you," Namath says. "And that can be a little awkward."

Hot Legs

Ted always said that Toothy's legs were underrated. But do you think they can stand up to the test of Joe's famous pantyhose ad? I guess we will have to wait and see.

I am sure Toothy will be hitting the gym, the road, and the stairs to get those long limbs in tiptop shape.

Now. Do you think he will get them insured for scratch and dent?

And hey.Thanks Rattler, for suggestion.
