Roll on

As the LA RR Grand Marshal and Mr. Two Wheel Tuesday, I'm here to talk to you about Carmageddon.
I've been through my share of disasters.

And this.

And this.
So I know what I'm talking about.

You might be anxious, not sure what to do with yourself. Find yourself pacing, thinking of all the places you want to go or things you need to do. You may be sitting in your car crying softly with your head on the steering wheel. We love our cars in LA. But here's a solution to Carmageddon.

Get on your bike and ride.Grab your two wheeler, unicycle, trike, or bike built for two, get your helmet and go.

Do you need the cool bike outfit?Naah.
But if you do, show off it.
Maybe coordinate as a family.
Get ready and
hit the road.Stop by and cool off when you need to
Grab a snackMake new friends.
Share it with someone special.
Long Beach to LA As easy as riding a bike.
Cars we don't need no stinkin' cars.

Getting back to the Q7 thing a minute. There really wasn't a reason for Jake to have a vehicle that big if it was just for him, even if he was hauling Atticus and bike with him at the same time. That car was to transport a lot of people and I don't think Jake was running a car pool to Santa Monica. It is definitely a family truckster.

Thank you, Special. I know this much. Tomorrow is my Sunday to usher at my old church and I discovered there is an Audi dealership reasonably along the route. I know the gates won't be open but I bet I can park outside of it and I'm going to see if I can't find me a Q7.

We'll see how big it is.

Hey, looks like Austin had to work today, courtesy of the rather undernourished looking fellow:

LOL and then after that tweet, several fans tweet at him that Austin also has a twitter account.

Even though M&M's word is more than good enough for me.

If she says it's huuuuuuuge, then it's huge.

Hilarious that someone tried to claim the car was not that big. That's how they lose their credibility. Claiming the sky is green when everyone can see its blue. Must say I have an suv and would not trade it for the world. So convenient for toting home large purchases. But we all know why Jake needs it.

Hubby and I re-watched Bear and Jake last night so that he could see the show. He really admired Jake for what he did and while he liked him before, his admiration for Jake went up quite a bit higher as a result.

LOLLL, I'm sorry but this is funny. Excerpts from a few reviews of Square One.

7/7/2011

The service can sometimes be surly and is almost always UNBELIEVABLY slow. It's teeny-tiny and in a not so great neighborhood next to the creepy Scientology building in Hollywood. Parking completely sucks.

For some reason, this restaurant seems to attract a lot of strange, seemingly mentally ill people. I've been about 7 times now and each time there is some kind of incident, physical fight or shouting ordeal on the patio with weird customers, the staff or homeless people coming in from the street.

That said, the bourbon pecan French toast is worth the hassle alone! the baked egg breakfast is tasty as are the breakfast potatoes. the collard greens look odd but taste wonderful. the pancakes are good too, but I recommend the French toast.

"I'm not parking my car in the ghetto!!" said my friend with the shiny new car. And, thus, began our brunch experience at Square One Dining.

And to be fair to my pretentious-seeming friend, a lot of the cars on the streets surrounding S1D have lost a bumper, or have at least had their bumpers smashed into. So I wouldn't recommend taking a car that you care about deeply here, especially if it's a manual-shift that can't be valeted. Evidently, the parts of the neighborhood that haven't been annexed by the Church of Scientology are very poor i.e. lots of barking dogs, Mexican bodegas, and chainlink fences...A weird place for an upscale brunch place, no?

Anyway, onto the meal...I had the portobello eggs benedict, and it was underwhelming. I couldn't really even taste the portobello, it really could have been tofu eggs benedict, for all of the flavor there was.

My friend deemed his eggs and toast "okay," but said the coffee (which is supposed to be from Intellgentsia and, therefore, good) was the worst he ever drank. I have had coffee from Intellgentsia before, but I even agreed that it was pretty bitter.

The patio was super-cute, but that really can't make up for the slooooow service. Even on a Sunday, eggs really shouldn't take that long to make.

Sorry, Square One Dining. I wanted to like you, but it was a brunch #fail.

All of the reviews were interesting and it sounds like the French Toast and the bacon are to die for. People greatly differ on the coffee. Sounds like they have great, great food but lousy parking situation.

And numerous mentions of the big Scientology building across the street. LOL!

Hey! Nothing wrong with a few Mexican bodegas. LOL. Only places to get authentic homemade tortillas, Mexican bread, tamales and chicarones.

That person ought to step outside their comfort zone and step foot inside one.

Nothing wrong with a chain link fence either.

That person's a little snobby, aren't they? lol

And so class, where was I going to stop at en route to ushering duties this morning? Who remembers? I think real m is waving her hand back there.

They had 3 of them right in a row, two black ones flanking a grey/silver one. And are they built like a tank?

Yeah.

I think what's overwhelming about it is not necessarily the length because actually the Expedition or the Suburban might be longer, I'm not sure. But this thing is WIDE. It's wide and it is incredibly tall.

And it looks like it's built like a tank. I would've gotten out and stood next to it because the lot was open but the second time I went by, there was some guy pulling out and I didn't want him to think I was stalking the lot or something.

Bad enough I took a camera phone pic of it! LOLLLL!!! Hey, I was scouting for my next vehicle.

Check out the avatar. All in the name of OMG late-breaking, investigating, total team coverage of all that is Jake & Austin.

It does, doesn't it? It's scary to me sometimes, how snobby and isolated some people can be. :(

Thanks for the research on the Q7!
