Keep your friends close and ...

....your co-stars closer

It's not only Maggie who shares their co-stars with Jake,
but now it's Austin.

Austin's Beautiful Boy co-star Maria Bello has signed on to join

Hugh Jackman, Melissa Leo, Jake, Viola Davis and Paul Dano in the movie Prisoners.

According to Deadline, Bello will play Grace, the wife of Hugh Jackman’s character Keller in the movie.

Directed by Jake's recent An Enemy director Denis Villeneuve  and written by Aaron Guzikowski (Contraband), the story revolves around a small-town carpenter named Keller (Jackman) whose young daughter and her best friend are kidnapped. After the cops fail to find them, Keller takes the law into his own hands but in the process runs up against Detective Loki (Jake), a hotshot cop with confidence to burn, assigned to the case.

Like Brother - Like Sister

It was just announced that Viola Davis is joining Jake, Paul Dano, Hugh Jackman and Melissa Leo in Dennis Villeneuve's thriller Prisoner.

Viola's latest movie was Won't Back Down and who was her co-star?
 Maggie.

That gets you thinking how many co-stars the G brother-sister team have shared.

Here's a few:

Chris Cooper
Jake : October Sky , Jarhead
Maggie: Adaptation

Kirsten Dunst
Maggie: Mona Lisa Smile
Jake:  "Dating"

Jamie Foxx:
Jake: Jarhead
Maggie: Upcoming White House Down

Peter Sarsgaard
Maggie: Married to him
 Jake: Jarhead, Rendition

Heath Ledger:
Jake: BBM
Maggie: Batman: The Dark Knight

Michael Pena:
Maggie: World Trade (Maggie was his wife)
Jake: End of Watch (Jake was his partner)

Danny Trejo
Jake: Bubble Boy
Maggie: Sherry Baby

Meryl Streep
Maggie: Adaptation
Jake: Rendition

At this point I think the only ones Jake has left is to work with is: Will Ferrell (Stranger Than Fiction),  Emma Thompson (Nanny McPhee)  or the Vibrator (Hysteria)

Knit one, Pearl Too?

 Welcome to the show Austin

Hey Jake , welcome to the show

I'm admiring your tie is that a knit?

I think it is.

You know you have to appreciate a tie that you can make yourself.  I can fold a napkin into a tie, but that really doesn't count.  It's just in case I dribble while drinking.

You know Jake that tie looks really familiar.

Are you saying I've wearing somebody's tie?

Well I remember liking Austin's that's all I'm saying.

Did he knit yours too?  Or were you taking up  knitting  ties?

This is your first late night interview  isn't it Austin.  You know it customary to bring the host a gift when you come on.

Ahhhh wellll....

You know Jake brought me a gift. My very own Lego.

Well let's see I could send you Season 8 of OTH,  or give you the only season of JFC... but Jimmy you look like you're more of a Holiday in the Sun type of guy.

You mean Jake didn't get a Lego of you?  Wow, I feel special then.

You could give me your tie.

Well I can't give it to you per se,  but could get you one I guess.

Are you going to make Jake knit me one?

Austin said he could give me his tie.  It is because it's yours ? Or did he just borrow yours when he came here?

Well Jimmy it's like this.... Ties have been around one form or another for thousands of years.  I was just reading a book about them.

Nice try Jake.

So Lego's.   Hey I like Lego's - Let' Play Jimmy

 OMG Olympics

Full Moon Run.

Not running under a full moon,  But a run where the challenge is to moon.  Degree of difficulties for moving vehicles, in front of party buses, on set, and back flips into the Pacific Ocean.

Hot Damn! Yankees

Now for a Sox fan to say anything nice about the Yankees it's got to be something amazing.

And amazing it is.

Austin at the premiere of LOL in France last night  (Source)

Now why would a good Southern Boy be wearing a Yankees cap?

Wouldn't he do the Texas Rangers?   Or LA Dodgers?

And when has Austin ever worn a baseball cap related to MLB?

So what's the deal?

Is he saying he's a  new New Yorker? (Because calling himself a Yankee could get him in 'sum big trouble in Texas)

Or could it be that he wanted to make sure everyone knew about a special New Yorker? And maybe that fella is there with him?

Update about Comic Con:  Jake is not participating in the EoW panel at Comic Con this weekend.   Maybe he has to work.... wait... maybe he has to get back to work.

Overshare

We know they share... but this going too far..This pic tweeted yesterday is no doubt what Austin was tweeting about filming earlier this summer, but it is exactly is still a bit murky. (So put on those thinking caps)

Any ideas which show/movie he donned the Dastan for from this tweet which accompanied the screenshot:

@AUS10NICHOLS I don't really like you with long hair can't wait to see this show your in FIVE. It looks good!

Wonder if Austin "accidentally" went home with that shirt? It would go with slacks and those white rubba boots.

Happy Austin Friday!

Knees up!

We know there has been a long tradition of share and share alike for Austin and Jake. And of Jake in pants that are too long.
Last year at the end of August we saw Jake sporting these AG Adriano Goldschmied The Khaki Pants Colonial Beige Ripped pair. And there is Austin getting ready to watch the premier of the eight circle (or season, if you want to be technical)of Dante's.. Crazy Tree in the middle of September last yeah.So are they sharing the same pants or just the same problem?

Looks like they could use some Toughskins. With Reinforced knees! And Austin.... they come in corduroy.

Share share a like

UPDATE: I put in the pictures that were patiently waiting on my hard drive that no one could get access to yesterday.

Thanks again Wicked for EVERYTHING!! A shower of Gold Stars for you.

It started off as sharing things

Austin's worn Jake's stuff And it looks like Jake's worn Austin's

Now as time goes by it looks like more like sharing a common style.

You think it's from sharing all suitcases, drawers and walk-ins? Or something else. ; )

You really think Austin will give up that bit of funky style that makes him Austin. No way. Now Jake wearing a matching pair of plaid slacks and white shoes some day ... just book Boca for two.

And wow Ted, just put it out there.

Note: Wicked published this post and takes responsibility for all errors herein. Spesh is still having computer problems but she hasn't thrown the computer against the wall yet.

Love Connection

Jake and Austin have shared co-stars (Beth Grant), producers (Bruckheimer), the screen (TDAT), shirts, hats, pants, trailers? toothbrushes? wait wait I digress.

And its happened again. This time directors.

Love and Other Drugs, Jake's new movie with Anne and Josh Gad, is being directed by Ed Zwick. Who some might remember from My So-Called and Thirtysomething on TV, or directing movies such as Glory, Legends of the Fall, The Last Samurai, Blood Diamond on screen.

But did you know that Autin worked with him first?

After TDAT and before working on Glory Road, Austin did a couple of thing for TV. One you may know, Surface, but the other you might not, "1/4 life". A pilot for ABC which followed a group of young adults – friends and roommates – in their mid-20s living in Chicago. For a number of reasons the pilot did not get picked up. And who was the director? Ed Zwick.

After having a successful twenty-year relationship with ABC/Touchstone , they graciously gave the material back so that Zwick and his long time parter Marshall Herskovitz could develop it in their own way. It was during then they conceived not only doing the quarterlife series for the Internet, but marrying it with a social network called quarterlife.com.

.... before I forget

Jake might be doing Love and Other Drugs, and now it seems that Austin is doing Love and Debate.

A film Austin did in 2006 called Thanks for Gravity, has been retitled Love and Debate and is coming out on DVD August 25th. (Check out Austin Nichols Journal - Spooky's for more pictures)

You think someone else in LA - knows a good Love Connection when they see it?
