First real look at EoW. And it looks good. 
The POV is what is going to make this more leap off the screen and it looks like the audience will right in the middle of everything.

At least from the trailer it looks like a pretty traditional cop film (except for the camera angles), but if it gets good reviews and does well at the box office it could be good for Jake's career.
I seriously doubt that the release had anything to do with a tweet about Jake in Texas. First of all, I didn't even know there was such a tweet, nor have I seen any discussion here about it, so why would it cause any concern?
More importantly, marketing campaigns, including when a trailer gets released, is planned very carefully. Jake would have zero control over that process, and certainly isn't going to be able to call up someone and have them bring out the trailer just because it suits him for some reason.

You have caught on to how it works, little birdie.
And just like you can count on the sunrise and sunset, not only do we have this sudden release of the EOW trailer, but we have Jake being spotted in Dublin and now we have Austin having a case of Twitter Diarrhea and making sure that everyone knows he was at the Hollywood Bowl last night.

You know, I saw that tweet about Texas. But I didn't put it up; in fact, I was staying quiet about it. The guys weren't doing anything to place themselves instructing exercise classes and in a boat in Indonesia. For once, they were minding their own stinkin' business.

It is interesting though that Austin mentions Gwyneth in a follow up tweet. Because it is another person that links to Jake.
When I saw the tweet I wasn't gonna say anything right away either. But, I have to say I do see how this all works now. The tweet was posted on May 1 and neither Jake or Austin placed themselves anywhere, but the moment I mentioned it, BOOM! Someone posts on OMG that Jake's in Dublin and now Austin mentions that he's in Los Angeles. Pathetic is right. Jake's ashamed of his guy and his children and Austin is as well. Really, heartbreaking.

What is the matter with these guys? Why do they have to keep denying one another? I might have understood this kind of game playing five years ago, but how ridiculous is all this now.
I work on political campaigns as a consultant, by the way, and politicians, on both sides of the aisle, use the, "Let's flood Twitter technique," to bury potentially damaging stories. Like maybe someone is sighted somewhere where they are not supposed to be. So I can see PR doing this for closeted actors as well.
Really, doesn't matter, Prairie Girl. What's more than obvious is the moment I posted that info, here comes the cover up. They can lie, misrepresent and deceive about where they are, but no one else can dare place them where they don't want to be.
I looked at that picture and it's close, I give them that. It's close. But it's impossible to say 100%.
Not only that but just because someone posts a twitpic or lockerz or whatever, does not mean anymore that it is a verification of real date and time. Yes, it is verification of the event taking place. But it's not necessarily 1) a verification that it was in real time and 2) verification that the person was there unless the person themselves is in the picture.

Thanks for that information, PR Approved. I didn't think about it being used on politicians but makes total sense. I absolutely believe that Twitter is used in this way.

Oh, I agree. And notice this, little birdie. Notice we had no tweet sightings of Jake at any airport this time. None. Whether he is in L.A. or Texas, there were no sightings of him coming or going.
Now we have two conflicting tweets. The gal who says she worked out with Jake in Texas and the gal who says she saw Jake at the L.A. Screening. He couldn't be at both places because the screening was at 7pm on the 1st. When did the lady say she worked out with Jake? Late afternoon/early evening on the 1st.
Prairegirl, stop to talk with yourself, anybody has seen this tweet, if it really exists set it, or give us some information.

Either tweeter confuses people because people lie and make things up or the Gyllenhaals like confusing people. Probably a little of both.
Watched the trailer. Not to sound too critical but it really does look like just another cop movie. Nothing in that trailer makes me want to run out and see the movie. I see zero intensity in Jake to the very last scene. Maybe it is Jakes voice. It is just not a voice for a cop or a spy or a super hero. He needs to pick his parts better. He is not going to be a Denzel or an Eastwood. Jake needs to play vulnerable. Thats it.

With the exception of the claustrophobic camera angles that makes the viewer feels as if their actually involved in the action, it does look as if EOW is nothing more then your standard cop drama.
Even the apparent characterization of Jake's and Michael Pena's characters seem traditional. Jake as the more outward, daring, go for broke, fun-loving hot head with Michael as the more traditional straight lace partner. I call it the Mel Gibson/Danny Glover syndrome. LOL. Almost every cop drama - from movies to television shows - has that set up. But that doesn't mean that set-up doesn't work if used well.
And I have to be honest. Whenever Jake goes into that overflowing testosterone mode for a character, there always seems to be something false about it. As if you're seeing the acting instead of just seeing the character. That's not an attack to Jake's own personal masculinity or his acting ability. It's just that his type of masculinity doesn't often plays itself to that type of overblown sense of macho-ness. Jake comes from privilege and he's not always capable at hiding that with his characters. As excellent as he was in Jarhead, I was never able to fully believe him as a tough soldier.
But never say never. Jake could surprise with his performance in this film. The film does look gritty and raw and apparently it's very violent. I've said it before, but I do believe Jake is trying to change his screen image in order to attract a more masculine base, because that's where Hollywood seems to be more interested in terms of box-office. I still think, after all these years, Jake biggest fanbase are with females and gay men, and traditionally Hollywood could care less about those two groups. Not when compared to the straight male audience. And I think Jake and his PR team is aware of that. This film, along with that music video, and the new film he'll soon be making, three or four years ago I don't think many of us would have thought Jake would be making these types of projects. But he's doing it now. I hope for him it's successful.
On a sluttish note, that first scene in the trailer with Jake looking into the camera wearing that extremely skin tight T-shirt over his muscled body was seriously HAWT! Pure jerk-off material. LMAO!!!
Just passing by. I agree with many of your points but I think Jake and his team of deceivers do want to appeal to str8 women ex:LAOD. I do agree though they want NO part of the Gay community and would do anything to avoid it.
Ex:total snub of Advocate honor. Hard to be a fan of Jake anymore when your Gay passing by.
It will certainly be interesting to see how the movie does; it will have to bring in the young male audience to succeed, and that does seem to be an audience Jake doesn't bring in. On the other hand, Jake didn't do so well with LAOD either.

We have a couple of tweets about Jake being seen with Minka Kelly at dinner in NYC even though Minka has also been seen shopping in Brentwood today.
The second oddity is we have The Daily Mail putting out a story with pictures of Maggie and Peter walking in the rain in NYC with their supposed to be two week old infant. If someone sees these pictures (just check Twitter) you tell me if you can see any sign or outline of a baby in that baby sling on Peter.
Not only that but how can you carry a two week old the way he is carrying her and there's nothing to help hold the head up?

Correction, I apologizes for the a little accurate information, "IAVA Fourth Annual Heroes Celebration", in which Minka Kelly has been winning was in Los Angeles, not in NY, I have been deceived by the association's twitter page, Wednesday evening, Minka Kelly and Mandy Moore were together in the American Idol studios. Where Minka Kelly was yesterday, we don't know .
