Make like a tree ...

and leave?

What the heck is happening on OTH. Skills is leaving and maybe taking Mouth with him, Nathan Haley and Jackson are packing up and heading out, Clay doesn't have any reason to stay and then there's Julian. Who's going to be left beside Brooke and Victoria?

Brooke literally ordered Julian to leave Tree Hill for a while and take up another movie project. The order came after more issues rose from his friends meet work, with Alex. “He moved there for Brooke....and he finds someone who's in his world and in that part of the country and it's nice to collaborate with them because it's a highly collaborative business...and who knows when the next opportunity will lie and he's like, I'm here with my girlfriend and I can't go back to Hollywood and I wanna work so this is kind of my opportunity to work and be here”, Austin said about his character's reason for not ending his work with Alex, which only led him to problems with Brooke.

Julian had started out to helping Alex with her script, but ends up sharing with her a secret about him wanting to have kids after realizing Brooke can't. Brooke takes the guilty of it all how it tears her up that she made Julian give up what he was doing leave LA and come to Tree Hill and really doesn't have to do.

"I feel like everybody likes to be liked and wanted. He's definitely let that sort of survive”, on why last week's episode ended the way it did for Brooke and Julian. “He's been very clear about where his loyalties lie...he hasn't done anything wrong but he hasn't told her to stop because at the same time he's working with her and he wants to continue to develop these projects so it's kind of a slippery situation”.

But is breaking up a bad thing for Julian? Could it be a way for Julian to get some cajoles to stand up to her and stop being this supportive, apologetic boyfriend that doesn't seem to do anything but wait on Brooke while Brooke makes everything about herself.

Is it going to be "Don't let let the door hit you on your way out. " for Julian?

It might create a better story one that would give Julian a chance to actually talk to other people and not just sit and wait for Brooke to come home so Julian to apologize for something else that she is upset about. Let Julian get the pants back. Ditch the coffee errand /yes boy, and bring back the devious with a little bit of edge Julian. That was the Julian that was interesting, sadly the Julian as of late is about as edgy as safety scissors that look like real scissors but don't cut jack.

Check out what Austin has to say about OTH and Julian on a new podcast that will be out tomorrow at OTHPodcast.com.

This week on the Crazy Tree "Some Roads Lead Nowhere" Brook Davis(TM) after telling Julian to pack it up and go, now struggles to accept his reaction to Alex’s crisis because it's not all about her. Nathan and the Real Housewife of Tree Hill get readyu for the family’s boogie to Barcelona for basketball, but will Haley grab her Raspberry Beret and hit the road for her on musical mystery tour? Quinn helps Feats of Clay hatch a plan to win back Nathan as a client. (Will it involved tapas, some cava and flamenco guitars?) Millie’s cokefest fiesta puts her and Mouth at a crossroads with Mouth, which could be the next East Coast/West Coast showdoan after he agrees to go with Cali with Skills if Millie picks the nose candy over Mouth. Dan shocks his equally devious half Rachel and his audience, (even more shocking that the dog ate my donor heart?).

Don't forget : We might not all see eye to eye but we still can share with each other. And what better way to share than break bread, in this case recipes, with one another. Join us Friday December 11, for OMG Second Annual Cooking Klatch. Post a favorite recipe that you would like to share.

Out Spotlight CVIX

Today's Out Spotlight is poet and playwright Edna St. Vincent Millay. She was a major poetic voice of the rebellious Jazz Age. And has been hailed as the greatest

female poet since Sappho of ancient Greece.

Born in Rockland, Maine, on February 22, 1892 Millay and her two sisters were raised by her mother, Cora, in an unconventional family from which her father Henry was asked to leave when she was seven by her mother at least in part because of his gambling. Her mother encouraged her daughters to be ambitious and self-sufficient, teaching them an appreciation of music and literature from an early age.

Millay's first known lover, Floyd Dell, reported that "'Her mother had expected a son, and when the child was a girl, she brought her up, she told me, like a son--to be self-reliant and fearless and ambitious.'"

In 1912, at her mother's urging, twenty year old Millay entered her poem "Renascence" into a contest, winning fourth place and publication in The Lyric Year. In the immediate aftermath of The Lyric Year, a wealthy woman named Caroline B. Dow heard Millay reciting her poetry and playing the piano at the Whitehall Inn in Camden, Maine, and was so impressed that she offered to pay for her education at Vassar College There, she continued to write poetry and became involved in the theater.

While playing the lead in her own play, The Princess Marries the Page at Vassar, she was approached by the British actress Edith Wynne Matthison, who, excited by the performance, came backstage to kiss Millay and invite her to her summer home. Millay felt great passion in the kiss and the two exchanged letters, providing one of her few known straightforward pronouncements of lesbian love:

"You wrote me a beautiful letter,--I wonder if you meant it to be as beautiful as it was.--I think you did; for somehow I know that your feeling for me, however slight it is, is of the nature of love. . . . When you tell me to come, I will come, by the next train, just as I am. This is not meekness, be assured; I do not come naturally by meekness; know that it is a proud surrender to You."

Millay also had several relationships with other women while at Vassar. In 1917, the year of her graduation, Millay published her first book, Renascence and Other Poems. At the request of Vassar's drama department, she also wrote her first verse play, The Lamp and the Bell (1921), a work about love between women.

In January 1921 she went to Paris, where she met sculptor Thelma Wood, with whom she had a romantic relationship. Millay, whose friends called her "Vincent," then moved to New York's Greenwich Village, where she led a notoriously Bohemian life. She lived in the nine-foot-wide attic of the house owned by the Cherry Lane Theater that was renowned for being the smallest in New York City. She wrote anything she could find an editor willing to accept. She and the other writers of Greenwich Village were, according to Millay herself, "very, very poor and very, very merry."

She joined the Provincetown Players in their early days, and befriended writers such as Witter Bynner, Edmund Wilson, Susan Glaspell, and Floyd Dell, who asked for Millay's hand in marriage. She refused a proposal from Dell, who wanted to cure her of her "Sapphic tendencies," believing that marriage would confine her to traditional female roles. She was openly bisexual having a series of affairs with men or women, expressing not only her belief that love was temporary but also an unwillingness to commit to a man or woman.

Millay published A Few Figs from Thistles in 1920, a volume of poetry which drew much attention for its controversial descriptions of female sexuality and feminism. In 1923 her fourth volume of poems, The Harp Weaver, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize. She was the first woman to be so honored for poetry. Poet Laurette Robert Frost viewed her as his most serious competitor and feared she would be elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters ahead of him.

In addition to publishing three plays in verse, Millay also wrote the libretto of one of the few American grand operas, The King's Henchman in 1927. In 1943 she was awarded the Frost Medal for her lifetime contribution to American poetry. She was the sixth recipient of that honor, and the second woman.

Millay married Eugen Boissevain, a self-proclaimed feminist and widower of Inez Milholland, in 1923. Boissevain gave up his own pursuits to manage Millay's literary career, setting up the readings and public appearances for which Millay grew quite famous. According to her own accounts, the couple acted liked two bachelors, remaining "sexually open" throughout their twenty-six-year marriage.

Biographers have speculated that Millay found in Boissevain the mother she had yearned for since childhood; however, Boissevain, though attending to Millay's needs, did not foster the independent spirit typical of her younger years.

Once at a cocktail party, Millay discussed her recurrent headaches with a psychologist who asked her about her attraction to women. Millay exclaimed, "'Oh, you mean I'm homosexual! Of course I am, and heterosexual too, but what's that got to do with my headache?'" They were married until Boissevain's death in 1949. Edna St. Vincent Millay died in 1950.

Excerpt of "Renascence" from Renascence and Other Poems:

"All I could see from where I stood
Was three long mountains and a wood;
I turned and looked another way,
And saw three islands in a bay.

So with my eyes I traced the line

Of the horizon, thin and fine,

Straight around till I was come

Back to where I'd started from;

And all I saw from where I stood
Was three long mountains and a wood."

Background player

Spooky and Vesperlynd have done it again. Finding and putting up some more great pictures of Austin on the USO Tour. Please go and check out all their great work.

Many times with Austin it's what's happening in the background that is more interesting than what is front and center. And these pictures are example in another way.

Love that he is totally engaged with those little girls. Down on their level talking and interacting with them.

Tells a lot about Austin more than a stand up picture does.

Blessed Be the Ties that Bond

This is Austin when he was on Jimmy Kimmel Live, in the summer of 2007, his only TV talk show interview for John from Cincinnati.
This is Jake on Jimmy Kimmel Live, last night, his only TV talk show interview (Jimmy called it an exclusive in the promo) for Brothers. (Part 2 here)

Notice something similar?

Not only is Jake's brown tie extra long and squared off. He is wearing a brown suit to go with the brown tie. (When does Jake wear brown?)

It not just Austin's tie, its the same tie that Austin wore when he was on Jimmy Kimmel.

Hmmm hmmmm mmmmmmm.

And now some Congratulations are in order on this Austin Friday.

OMG has long know that Mr. Nichols is sexy and not we want to congratulate him on being # 12 on the Television Sexiest Men of 2009. Moving up 17 positions from #29 last year to #12 this year. But we could have save them all the trouble and just told them that.

Just one more thing: You wonder if there is another reason that Jakes a Pats and Tom Brady fan?

VH (#)1?

Jake might have gone on the radio to talk about his favorite music.

But is Austin telling is who one of his favorite bands is?

On his FOREHEAD???????

Uh Uh Uh.... yeah .... Van Halen. Wonder if he's a Diamond Dave Guy or Sammy fan? Wait what am I thinking! It's gotta be Sammy, we're talking the guy who loves his tequila, and probably Sammy's too. (Now you know what goes through my twisted head while I'm watching OTH)

Reminder: Jake is on Jimmy Kimmel (ABC check local listings) tonight. You think anyone slipped Jimmy an embarrassing video of Jake from high school too?

And on Sesame Street tomorrow next Friday on PBS (check local listings)
Sorry about the date mix up. I thought it was Dec 4. the correct date is December 11.

Hmm you know this is better than a few of his choices of chapeaus. But maybe a little too clingy.

After such a long break from the interviews Jake came back to interviews just as funny, silly and charming as he has always have been.

The unscripted interview with Tobey and Natalie, gave some other things to notice not just Jake talking about his band name. Jake and the Merkins would work too with a little retro feel to it.

In the chat you see that Jake talks about hanging out with Tobey and his friends, as he did talking about hanging out with Jim, and working out with Tobey. While there was speculation that he did spend time with other people and only Reese, because he wasn't seen doing so has been now dispelled.

We also can tell that Jake while being environmentally conscious is not going to be going the vegan way, but his reaction here when Tobey and Natalie talk about possibly cheating by eating and egg.

Another thing that was interesting if you look at the large clip and in the clip were Tobey is talking about his Ipod and talking about being a father and his kids, you can see Jake subconsciously nodding with Tobey, as like he knows just what Tobey is speaking. Hmm makes you wonder why.

Of course there is Jake's discussion about his body art. Interesting that he put so much thought into it about what it should be, where it should be, and why. It sound like something Austin would work through if John had had to get a tattoo for JFC. The Celtic C representing the family he still holds to despite the issues coupled the wolf, the family bond vs. the wilding and lone wolf symbolic of Tommy who in a way l comes back to protect the pack. Speaking of tats, we know that the one on his neck, his knuckles, and inside his right forearm, but do you wonder if he will surprise with any more that can't be seen in an ad?

This time isn't not about the ice, it's the wolves. Think he's going be sporting this soon?

Mystery Machine

Jake,Reese and the Case of the Rolling Luggage
(Thank LA Times for the title and Michael K for inspiration)

Well gang, it looks like we have a mystery on our hands.

Like are they splitting up?

Or who broke up with who?

More like what was was in those suitcase.

Maybe we can dig up some answers to this mystery!
The girls and I will go this way, Shaggy, you and Scooby check out the basement we'll start here in the bedroom.

Look at this pretty purple string that I found caught in the nightstand drawer. It would match my dress.

Daphne! You found a clue.

That's the mane of a My Little Pony.

Why's there a My Little Pony stuffed in this drawer, and it smells like Strawberry Shortcake.
Clearly someone wanted us to think this was his side of the bed.

All these other drawers and closets are filled with her clothes.

They forgot that he needs glasses. There's none here. No contacts either He's a blind as a bat, just like me.

Did someone say Batttt?

"Gulp!"

Zoinks, Scoob. Hold me.

You two knock it off. There's no bats.

If there's no bats, can we just forget this and hit the kitchen for a snack?
No Shaggy. We have mystery on our hands.

Gang let's keep looking.

Come on Scooby help us look for more clues.
Uh Uh

How about for a Scooby snack?

(shaking head no)
Two Scooby snacks?

(shaking head no)

If he won't I will.

Raggy!
I've only got one Scooby Snack left, Scoob, go find the next clue.

Fred! Daphne! Velma! Look was Scooby found.
See these tracks, clearly the suitcase was rolled from this office out the front door.

Why would his suitcases be in an office?

It's elementary, their romance is a business.

And from the depths of the tracks and how light they look when the assistant picked them up, I conclude there was nothing in the cases, it was purely for show.

Clearly he never stayed here. Just kept bags that would make it look like he did. Bet all you would find in that suitcase was paperwork, a bad hat, some Abba cds and a Cirque de Soleil dvd.

Why would they pretend and then pretend to pretend to break up?

If we figure that out, we'll be halfway towards solving this mystery and half of Hollywood

Ree hee hee
Who put the My Little Pony and the Strawberry Shortcake in the nightstand.

Someone who wanted to make it look like he did live here, someone who would benefit from it, but didn't want the real hassle in the house.

The Gang: Old lady Witherspoon!

And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids"

And after all this silliness there is something very important about today.

December 1st is World AIDS DAY.
Today there are:
* 33.4 million people living with HIV worldwide
* 31.3 million adults
* 15.7 million women
* 2.1 million children under 15
* 50% of all cases are women

In 2008 2.7 million people were diagnosed as HIV positive. 2.3 million are adults but there were 430,000 children under 15 diagnosed as well. 2 million people died in 2008 in HIV-related deaths. While strides have been made in living with HIV, HIV and AIDS has yet to be cure there is still work to do.
