Inspired after helping friend Jamie Foxx on his hit Blame It, Jake Gyllenhaal has announced plans for an album of his own. Titled "Prince on Prince, Just the Way I Like It", it is Gyllenhaal's own take on Prince hits and some of his personal favorites.
Sources say the long list of songs on his do-me list include:
"Let's Go Crazy"
"1999"
"Delirious"
"When Dove's Cry"
"Lil Red Corvette"
"I Wanna Be Your Lover"
"Raspberry Beret"
"Diamonds and Pearls"
"I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man"
"Kiss"
"Dirty Mind"
"Head"
"Cream"
"Irresistible Bitch"* (B-side)
"Controversy"
"Gett Off"
"I Love U In Me"* (B-side)
"If I Was Your Girlfriend"
"Let Pretend We're Married"
All are wondering he is considering collaborating with any long time friends for some appropriate songs, after some have praised him publicly for his singing talent. ("The kid can sing" - Austin Nichols) Unnamed sources said when asked if his current paramour in the press might be a cameo in a video, he responded, " J.Lo and Ben, Don Johnson and Barbra, J.Lo and Chris, Nick and Jessica, J.Lo and Diddy, ummmm maybe I should. "
Rumors have already started that this is a sign that Gyllenhaal will be changing his name to The Artist Formerly Known as Gyllenhaal, and use an unpronounceable symbol instead. Other speculation is he will be speaking only through his music, until a current contract is indeed over.
A small club tour to promote the album when it drops in the late fall is a possibility. No word if Gyllenhaal will don the bikini briefs, leg warmers, high-heeled boots, and a trench coat in true Prince fashion.
