Jordan Mechner's keynote speech at GDC China, a game developers convention, talked extensively about the PoP franchise, his original aspirations and where the game series could be heading. He described the franchise prior to Sands of Time as "a garden that I was neglecting. By 2001 Prince of Persia was really a dead franchise -- completely and totally dead." Back to the garden Mechner to see what he could harvest from what he planted, deciding to make a pitch to get Prince of Persia made into a movie. So how do you pitch a video game as a movie to some of the biggest producers in the business? Show them your game. And this is what Jordan showed them.
