For those up baking, cooking, or playing with their bird late tonight, there's one more interview for opening day. Jake and Anne will be sitting down to chat with Charlie Rose about the movie. Somehow can see it being a discussion about the pharmaceutical industry and what defines a romantic comedy. Doubt Charlie will be delving into the topic of merkins and tape related medical injuries.




Dispensing the with seriousness, let's talk turkey. With Jake showing so much on screen that he could freeze his giblets, there must be an opinion.

OMG Medical Moment

Some Viagra facts you might not know.

Viagra is a vasodilator, which relaxes the smooth muscle in blood vessels, causing the vessels to widen and increase blood flow. The drug was designed and tested as blood pressure medicine, while testing it showed... ahem side effects in male test subjects especially surprising in those who had impotency caused by medical conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. Pfizer knew they had bigger drug star on their hands.

Some side effects of Viagra can be nausea, nasal congestion, loss of hearing, loss of vision, or seeing things in blue tint.

That there are little blue pill parties in retirement communities. After the introduction of Viagra they saw a steady rise in STD's in nursing homes.

What the heck is going there and who knew that seniors where getting more action than their grandkids. The rate of STDs in older men taking drugs like Viagra is twice as high as in their non-medicated peers. Maybe there's a market in making condoms with easy open packaging.

Viagra is being prescribed for other things besides E.D. like scleroderma. Scleroderma is when collagen builds up and hardens in widespread connective tissue involving changes in the skin, blood vessels, muscles, and internal organs. Viagra relaxes the smooth muscle in the blood vessels to send blood to the hardening connective tissues.

Jake and Anne were at the DGA Theater in NYC last night for the NY Premiere of the movie, and Three's Company (for sure with this movie's promotion) .... so Ed joined them again.

While LaOD promotion is running like a pharmaceutical promotion, test groups and free samples (of the movie, not the little blue pill) and Jake really knows how to sell the goods (now talking about little blue pill), it was the pharmaceutical industry that got the real Hollywood treatment.

Monday night's screening

"It’s surreal on so many levels--watching Jake Gyllenhaal as me, respond to being called Jamie, behaving the way I did, having the same conversations I had back in 1997," says Reidy, 40. "I was so distracted by those things, I had to see it again, just to catch everything I missed."

"The book is the jumping off point for the movie, which captures the book’s lighthearted, self-deprecating spirit," Reidy says. "But the slacker stuff is gone, and Jake’s character has more depth than I have. He starts out where I was--selfish--and begins to change after he meets someone he really cares about."

The movie deal was less of a surprise to Reidy. "You already had Viagra. Now just throw in a love interest and that’s a movie."

Jake and Anne will be making rounds for LaOD and kicked it off doing a press junket this past weekend in New York. Expect to see a rush of articles and each one doing different spins with the same type of answers. Sometimes junkets are like accidents. Everyone there sees it, the basic facts are there, but everyone's recollection and reporting is different than the others. And no doubt everyone is trying to get a different angle to get the most attention.

There has been a lot Jake has been asked about this time, and it seems like this time there's not a lot of opportunity to say no comment or no questions about "xyz". What a pricker bush this could be to get pass and not get some snags or scrapes.

Tread carefully Mr G. LaOD could turn into Love and Debate quick and don't mean the movie Austin did.

Maybe treading is what happened to the shoes?

LaOD's not the only Jake movie in the news . There's more about Source Code's story.

Captain Colter Stevens wakes with a jolt to find himself on a commuter train heading into Chicago. Although the other passengers all seem to know him, he has absolutely no idea where - or even who - he is.

The last thing he remembers is flying a helicopter mission in Iraq, but now he's in someone else's body and living someone else's life. Before he can do anything an express train zooms by on the opposite track and a bomb explodes, seemingly killing Colter and all the other passengers.

When he comes to, he finds himself suit up in his flight gear, strapped his seat and in an isolation chamber, with mission control reciting a series of memory questions and shockingly he knows the answer too.

Colter finds out that he is a part of an operation called "Beleaguered Castle," and forced to relive the explosion over and over. He must find out the identity of the bomber, go back and stop the bombing from happening, and figure out what "Beleaguered Castle" is.
