Jake gained props from a lot of people after last nights Man vs. Wild and rightfully so.
There were so many great moments and glimpses of a Jake that endears him to so many.
Here are just some:
The look on Jake's face when he got on the helicopter, grinning, brimming with excitement, waiting to for the adventure to begin.
And the look on his face when he conquered the rope and his fear and got to the other side. He shined! There was a light that came out of him from knowing what he just accomplished.
The funniest had to been digging the snow cave and Bear cracking up before even making the Brokeback joke. And Jake's reaction was classic Jake. Now the hole thing...
Leaving the helicopter on the adventure, Jake looked so young it was like you were seeing the boy in Jake.
And it wasn't just Jake and Bear crossing the river, and the stripping down and shirtless thing (not that it wasn't bad) but it was that little glimmer on the
end of the chain. Even in the most extreme situations it stayed and that tells you the importance it holds to him.
EW.com list their top 5 favorite moments too. What's yours?
And because pictures are not enough. Here's the great river crossing again.
It's Two Wheel Tuesday - there's still time to grab a bike wherever you are and take a ride.

Jake's getting his Wild on TONIGHT on the Discovery Channel at 9pm EST. Men vs. Wild - (yup- 2 guys =plural) has Jake crossing a 120 ft gorge on a rope (equal to crossing between two 12 story buildings)
descending 20 ft down into a snow hole, bracing storms, finding food, and sharing a cave. What else? Have to wait and see.
Despite all that snow and ice, Jake going wild is going to have a lot of people looking for a way too cool down...
May OMG suggest what Jake does - a little Grey Goose (wait is that cooling down for Jake or heating up?)1. Orange Dream
Mix together ingredients. Pour liquid into a popsicle mold and freeze overnight. Makes 6 popsicles.
2. Le Citron Lemonade Escape
Muddle raspberries. Mix together ingredients. Pour liquid into a popsicle mold through a tea strainer (to strain out seeds and pulp) and freeze overnight. Makes 6 popsicles.
3. La Poire Frozen Frenchy Popsicles
Mix together ingredients. Pour into a popsicle mold and freeze overnight. Makes 6 popsicles.

wormhole: A theoretical distortion of space-time in a region of the universe that would link one location or time with another, through a path that is shorter in distance or duration than would otherwise be expected.
And for Jake's version it's a bit more deconstructed.
First there's the "delicacy" of a handpicked fresh very organic worm.
Farm to table ? Please! Jake's done better than that. Try earth to mouth. And what can you say about Jake and a hole? Sure that you can think of something on your own.
Nothing like the smell of sulfur and dead sheep, mmmm mmm good. Bet Jake couldn't wait to try Sheep a la Wild. And how did Jake do to prepare for Bear and his wild adventure?
Absolutely nothing.
and the Time Travel?
Source Code will be available on video on demand in the US tomorrow. DVD and Blu-Ray versions of Source Code will be available on July 26th.
Something you might not know, Source Code has grossed worldwide $123,221,377 at the box office, that is before VOD,DVD,Blu-Ray sales and television rights have been sold. And the budget for Source Code? 32 million.

UPDATE: Second Clip from Man vs. Wild courtesy of THR and Discovery
It's one thing to read a book about a man who walks on a wire.
It's another to do it.
Now Jake's getting a sense of what that's like. (Maybe not walking but still equally impressive)
Jake admits he's scared (probably more like terrified or completely freaking out) But he's keeping it together, and living in the moment.
It's all about facing your fears.
"No more time thinking, just do it" -JakeJake if you did this, you can do the big really stuff.
Happy Two Wheel Tuesday

Check out the promo for Jake on Man vs. Wild.
That's some kind of wild.
And how's this for some hair? One question: How did Jake who's vision is poor, do this with contacts on, and in hard lenses no less?
Jake was a little more civilized yesterday spotted out in the wilds of WeHo at a fav, Urth Cafe. And the Wild Turkey?
The script of the first episode was delivered to the cast Sunday/Monday, and everyone is heading to back to the big Tree now. Filming starts sometime next week.

While Austin was performing in Santa Monica, Jake at the U2 show in Anaheim on Saturday night. (Both in LA at the same time again for yet another weekend) No cowl but his handy dandy hat and instead of a cape his cloak of invisibility (his black jacket) tied round his waist.
He might not have wanted his cloak of invisibility but bet he was wishing for some superpowers before he stepped on that helicopter with Bear. And with that here are the Top Ten Plus One of :
Things going through Jake's head before heading out with Bear.
11. There's not crying in baseball wait there's no crying in Iceland.
10. Why does Bear have that rope around his neck?
9. That hook at the this strap better not mean we aren't "landing" the helicopter.
8. I'm glad these pants are waterproof.
7. Please don't make me eat an eyeball. Please don't make me eat an eyeball. Please don't make me eat an eyeball.
6.I like a good free range chicken but not sure I can do free range puffin.
5.Wonder if there is anywhere I can grab a coffee when we get there.
4. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Red Leader One is a go!
3.My face says fierce but my head says flee.
2. OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG!
and the number one thing going through Jake's mind.
This is all your fault Nic!
Here's some details and pics of Jake and Bear's adventure.
And a teaser picture to get you go look.
Jake and Bear will be kicking of the season of Man vs. Wild July 11th at 9:00pm on the Discovery Channel.

....and back.
Jake spent last weekend going Wild with Bear Grylls at Iceland's famous glacier volcano Eyjafjallajökull and the Fimmvörduháls mountain range for the Bear's show Man vs. Wild. And it was Iceland that brought wild with a storm during the shoot.
“We can confirm that we were with Gyllenhaal and Grylls but I’d rather not comment any further on the story,” said Thór Kjartansson at the Icelandic production company True North which assisted the show’s crew on the glacier. “But they definitely got the wildest and best of Icelandic nature,” he added. (Iceland Review)
Jake traded in the Source Code duds for survival gear heading there straight from his last appearance in Rome. Guess the causal sportwear wasn't going to cut and reports were Jake of dropped by the 66°North store before heading to the mountains. It might be Jake's first time in Iceland but not his first in their famous gear.
