Acting 101: Props

What do you when you look at these picture. Excuse the obvious, like the socks - or is that a shout out to Chris. Yo Chris!

Look at how close the farmer markets pictures cropped the only thing that makes them look like it happened in Ojai is the prop - the basket. Kind of like those coffee cups that were the same in different shots on "different days" from another Ojai photo op.

Props or the right props can make you look like you drive a sports car (remember Joey and the Ferrari on Friends?), that you have serious business to do (Kramer and his briefcase with a pack of saltines in it?), or you bought lingerie in a London boutique (who was that? the name escapes me) or make it look like you were in Ojai when you were in town all weekend.

It's interesting that Jake is less covered up while up further north and near noon than an at industry party in Malibu in the afternoon, south and the peak of heat is between 2 and 4 in the afternoon. And industry party? Well it sure wasn't a grab the deviled eggs and drop in at the neighbors party when you have valet parking, a guest list that's going to show up in People, and a guy who shows up Iron Man lunch box and a fistful of twenties, wait that last one could be a neighborhood party.

How do you know its still morning at the farmers market? Well you get the best produce at the farmer's market in the morning. Jake is friends with too many chefs not to know this, and he's a morning person. And look, see how short the shadows are, it's not quiet noon yet.

You just don't know where it all happens until you see something in the location that confirms the location. Can you do that? I admit I can't.

To paraphrase Martha Stewart: "Props it's a good thing."

It's so much easier (and let's face it probably more fun) to get photographed with a basket than with ... again who I am thinking of, wait it will come to me.... give me a minute......mom....blonde.... former co-star..... two kids....Oscar winner... I got it ... Gwyneth! Wait wait is that right?

Noooooooo. Ohhhhh damn that "keeping up their efforts to not be photographed together" I forgot who that blonde is that is always front and center in the pictures. Damn!
