What do you when you look at these picture. Excuse the obvious, like the socks - or is that a shout out to Chris.

Look at how close the farmer markets pictures cropped the only thing that makes them look like it happened in Ojai is the prop - the basket. Kind of like those coffee cups that were the same in different shots on "different days" from another Ojai photo op.
Props or the right props can make you look like you drive a sports car (remember Joey and the Ferrari on Friends?), that you have serious business to do (Kramer and his briefcase with a pack of saltines in it?), or you bought lingerie in a London boutique (who was that? the name escapes me) or make it look like you were in Ojai when you were in town all weekend.
It's interesting that Jake is less covered up while up further north and near noon than an at industry party in Malibu in the afternoon, south and the peak of heat is between 2 and 4 in the afternoon. And industry party? Well it sure wasn't a grab the deviled eggs and drop in at the neighbors party when you have valet parking, a guest list that's going to show up in People, and a guy who shows up Iron Man lunch box and a fistful of twenties, wait that last one could be a neighborhood party.
How do you know its still morning at the farmers market? Well you get the best produce at the farmer's market in the morning. Jake is friends with too many chefs not to know this
, and he's a morning person. And look, see how short the shadows are, it's not quiet noon yet.
You just don't know where it all happens until you see something in the location that confirms the location. Can you do that? I admit I can't.
To paraphrase Martha Stewart: "Props it's a good thing."
It's so much easier (and let's face it probably more fun) to get photographed with a basket than with ... again who I am thinking of, wait it will come to me.... give me a minute......mom....blonde.... former co-star..... two kids....Oscar winner... I got it ... Gwyneth! Wait wait is that right?
Noooooooo. Ohhhhh damn that "keeping up their efforts to not be photographed together" I forgot who that blonde is that is always front and center in the pictures. Damn!

Anyone think Disney paid for Austins trip to Italy? Keep him the hell out of the way till he goes back to work. Those biking pictures were not a good idea. Heads rolled. They tried to make things better with the biking gated community shot but poor old Austin got the boot. Well good for him I am sure he is living it up wherever he is. Disney is loaded.

Yeah were those posed or what. So obvious.. if you're at home and want to go bike riding you hop on the bike and you ride away, you GO, you don't stand in front of the gate like "gee where are we, where should we ride to, yeah let's stand here a few minutes and discuss" and if there's any problem with the bike you usually notice it right off and in any case you head back to home immediately to fix it not (again) stand in front of some locked gates and pose like you're in the Sunday paper's Sears summer season special insert bike ad. Which reminds me, remember that laughable set of like 3 pics of Reeke perched on bikes on a beach city main street with the traffic? Reese looked like a fish out of water and it was a dead giveaway that it was a photo shoot for more Reeke BS. Jaustin posing at the gates was better but not by much.
Gah who knows when the Ojai FM pic was taken an like Special says if its Ojai. There's ways of finding out but it takes time and is it really worth it?
Two things about today's post pics, one question each: (1) Why in hell is that woman squatting in the doorway, does she have to pee or poop or did she drink too much and vomited into her red purse, or is that a glory hole in the door that she has her face next to and if so Jake looks like he's just left from the other side of the door and he's adjusting his shirt as he's leaving..very suspicious I tell you.. (2) How the hell did Jake wrap, tie and tuck the thing around his waist or is he wearing a skort?!
The Ojai pics are dated 5/24, the Malibu pics, the next day, 5/25.
Last Sunday he was papped in Ojai with Deacon even if they were tagged, L.A. There were signs in the back that said that it was E.Ojai Ave.

A nonpro Nikon D90 digital SLR can shoot 4.5 frames per second. (Can you tell I love my camera!) The cameras that the paps use they are even faster, they can take up to 9 frames per second in full format. So what looks like they are standing at the gate posing for pictures at the gate, or that even the Kiss Cam was forever, or 185 picture looks it was half hour, is mere seconds or minutes.

Yes all info issued with pics is accurate and is never to be questioned because paps, photo agencies, gossip sites and PR would never fudge or lie about dates, places or circumstances. *cough*
I can understand Ted being sympathic to people who have not come out, and agree that if you're just living your life privately you have every right to not be dragged out of the closert. But I really get tired of gay men who are apologists for homophobia and homophobic behavior like bearding.

Body Language TB, if you're still lurking at all, would love to hear your take on Jake's gear. Personally I think two things are going on, desexing himself by the way he dresses, and trying to cover up the shame he feels with long sleeves, hats and glasses to hide the face, etc.

PG, this was probably Arlington National Cemetary. The "unknown" graves are soldiers who died in various wars whose remains were never identified.

Why, I repeat, why can't adults, or reasonable thinking adults understand this?? All HW celebs. have pictures taken of them which seem to look like they were posing. Ever heard of paps waiting outside of gated communites? How about a celebs house? Stupid mundane pictures of stars walking the streets doing the things "WE" all do? Now Paris Hilton or those other NON celebs that dlisted post often ARE just posing for photo ops. (The one with the lucite pumps on)!
I don't care how much you hate Reeke, or now can't deal with Jake, to think every waking moment he is paped is a photo op is insane and rediculous at best.

I think Jake is bisexual, and in a full relationship with Reese. Don't think it's 50/50, but what relationship is at times. I think Reese knows for sure NOW, but deals with it the best way.
What Jake seems to be is the typical bisexual man who may be more or less interested in either sex. I don't claim to know which he prefers more over the other, but I would say men. He's like so many other men.
Austin is probably a very close friend if not fuck buddy on the side "NOW", but I would think with all the attention on he and Reese the fuck buddy thing has fallen by the wayside. To many eyes.
And they both want their careers to move foward (Austin and Jake).
That's my take on it.

I don't think he enjoys her company with such a dour sullen look on his face every time he is with her, he and his body language. Compare that to when he is with friends, men, or anyone else in the frame that is not Reese.
Those times together are pretty much on schedule, because as we know Reese is a planner and keeps to calendars to keep track of her schedule. It is time spent by appt. There may have been a time he might have, but now it even more for show.
Reese does not have the time patience or real interest in investing genuine time with Jake or any other man if it meant that she would have to take focus off her career. She knows has a short window of time for women in Hollywood. She has learned that you are only as good as her last movie, and she has to keep going as fast as she can before her windows closes, or she can prove herself worthy of staying power after 45. Hollywood is not kind to actresses as it is to actors as time marches on.
I always found this interesting that Jake might have grown up in Hollywood but never worked at a kid while Reese started as a kid/teen, just like Kiki (well Kiki a lot younger).
I have never seen Jake look at Reese once like ever has with Austin. Why? Because he can't. And he can't even look like he does with other men when he's with Reese. Why? Because he is naturally attracted to men. There is nothing he can do about it. It's instinctual. He can be flirty with women, he is a flirt indeed, but he will always be attracted to men.
I did not save that OTH episode. Kicking myself that I did not hit record so I don't recall Brooke's reply to "Jake Gyllenhaal". It was brief, whatever it was, and I did not think it was significant enough to note. I guess I was in shock from hearing them mention Jake so blatantly in the first place. I replayed it about six times to make sure I heard correctly and did not imagine it.
I had been hoping for some jake/austin pics this weekend but no such luck. Austin may be in Italy. He has not blogged on sogo in a while. His new job starts in July so this is a good time to go, or to stay a while if he was at the wedding. Agree, Jake looks really unhappy lately. I honestly don't know how he expects to keep this up another year. Too bad POP got delayed. Not what he bargained for.

Special I agree with some of your post, however I think Jake goes along with it because it's safe, and Reese does the same. I do think Jake and Reese are real friends. Yes, I have seen how Jake lites up around Austin or other men for that fact. I agree also that he may be attracted to men naturally and more than he is to women.
I don't think Jake is coming out as gay anytime soon. If anything, he would probably come out as bisexual as was posted in the beginning, and probably only if caught in the act...
I also believe that Jake can have a relationship with a WOMAN as he did with Kirsten, so to me it's not a strectch that he would be with one now. I know this is not the mind set here, but it happens more than most realize. I'm not promoting it, but it does!

I agree they spend alot of time together, they would have to for bearding anyway. But like how romantic couples are, same with friendships.. just because people are together or together for a long time doesn't mean its healthy or fulfilling. Many times it's two screw ups feeding off of each other, combined with a fear of quitting what's familiar and getting a new path, that keeps people together in romance or friendships. I think this is the case with Reeke, especially with Jake who doesn't look happy or content in 85% of his pics and who's had a few recent uncharacteristic outbursts. Because of this I disagree that he enjoys Reese's company. I think him hanging around her is more of a routine than a pleasure, that it's codependence and a sign of loneliness. There's nothing in their relationship that I sense as being fulfilling and making him a happier, better person. If anything I think his affiliation with Reese has torn him down and stripped him of confidence. Healthy, good alliances don't do that.

The circumstances that Jake and Austin face in a one on one relationship while HW watches don't seem to be in their favor especially since either one has not owned up to being gay or bi., and seem to be hiding their sexuality (either gay or bi) while building their career.
If Jake announced his love for Austin today on Access Hollywood I would be a happy camper. I would also be concerned because I would probably see less of both, especially Jake, as actors because of the way HW deals with openly gay male stars. Could you imagine what would happen to Reese? Now that would be the PR blitz of the Century.

Yes the gates are vague and obscure and who would figure out that its where Reese (supposedly Jake too) lives, why the gates you ask. Well did it occur to anyone that maybe those pics were planned as a People or Us magazine Reeke side story about how when Reese is out of town working that Jake will invite a buddy over to the beautiful home he shares with his ladylove, in an exclusive gated Brentwood community, to go bike riding? Or something like that lol.
And the reason I strongly believe those pics were posed, again, is why would they stop outside the gates? Why would they take off from the house, glide down to the gates, go thru the exit, and stop? No reason to, unless it was for pictures. There wasn't anyone around, no fans asking for autographs, no traffic, nothing wrong with the bikes, nothing stopping them from going thru the exit and riding to where they wanted to go, but instead they stand there straddling the bikes. Also note that the pics show them in different areas in front of the gate and looking different directions, exactly what a photog does for compositions. You might disagree with me but I believe those bike ride gate pics were posed.

Hooray for President Obama's Supreme Court pick, judge Sonia Sotomayor, loved reading about her and that she has the adoration of her clerks. :) On pins and needles about the CA Supreme Court decision today.
I also tend to think now that Jake and Reese are for real, but would be happy to be proven wrong if they aren't. You made some good observations about the photos, Spesh.
Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend, I haven't posted much because all of this gives me a major headache, but I do lurk from time to time, don't want to miss the excellent topics and music. :)

Quality & Wicked, well spoken comments. As usual, I get torn all kinds of ways on some issues.
Wicked, that might be a good way to put it how he deals with this. There's no doubt that there have been outings that he has enjoyed or tried to. I mean, I wouldn't expect him to keep going out on every business outing with her, intent on having a bad time. I don't think any person would - heck, you have to try & enjoy your life even if you're doing something with someone that you'd rather not. And like Quality said so well, that just doesn't make this a healthy relationship, whatever in the heck kind of relationship it is. He has had behavioral issues and right now, he is looking distressed again, although who knows what that is all about.
I don't think Reese is a monster, but she does not come across to me as a "nice" person. And she has been a real step backward for him as far as personal growth. He's lost that sparkle, that charm, that easy smile, all of that which made him the guy we all came here for several years ago.
That's not to say he hasn't shown glimpses of that at times, but I look at pictures that I have saved and I ask where is this guy? Where in the heck did he go. One of the happiest times he's looked was in that one biking picture with Austin. And we don't see him 5/6 of the time anyway, but that sad sack face isn't something that just appears during bearding situations. It's part of the root cause; who knows how else it has affected other areas of his personal life.
Not surprised at all about Prop 8, and in the long run it may be better to have it done by vote, not court action, that way you take away the wingnut argument that the court is imposing its will on the people.
I've been wondering lately if Jake doesn't spend more time with Reese than I previously thought, and tend to agree with Wicked and Quality. But I still don't think they're real, and I still think the photo opps are either arranged, or they go to places where they know paps will be around. I'd like to think he still has enough of a conscious to feel shame about what he is doing, and that is why he looks less than thrilled in the photos--and they may up the "couple" behavior just for the photos.
Not only may he be trying to make the best of a bad situation, who knows, maybe he's lost friends because this whole bearding thing, particularly gay friends who've probably been relegated to the closet along with Austin.
But the more time goes by the more I think it's likely that Jake is going to end up like a lot of other pathetic closet cases, married to a beard and having hookups on the side because it's too difficult to have a real relationship under those circumstances.
And actually, when you consider that even though it's business, you can't be with someone for that many coffees & shopping, plus overseas several times and not get to know them as a person.
Obviously, he's found ways to strike a common chord in order to survive the whole thing. He'd have to.
But for all the friends they may be, why he had to turn his body the way he did for that homeplate phantom "kiss" begs to be questioned. And the Italy wedding Bedrock PDA. Why he couldn't really lay one on her instead of just propping his head on her shoulder like a beagle begs to be questioned. That's what I mean, even though it's bearding, he can't bring himself to make it look halfway convincing? Except for the ol' kisscam, but even that was very vanilla'ish. It just makes me curious as all get out just what kind of friendship they have.
I mean, they are actors. She can fake it very well - watch that 110 watt smile she can put out when she has to. The fingers raking his back on Bedrock. I think it shows that she has no problem carrying out being deceitful. I think it also shows hope that he still does have a problem betraying certain things that he still holds as his own. The kisscam was kind of a put on the spot thing. I mean, what are you going to do? The whole arena is watching.
But Bedrock & possibly that ballfield simplest of smooches, he had problems carrying it through.

What scares me is I'm already getting a feel for the amount of pressure that's being put on this movie PoP to be a blockbuster. So far, I've read several comments made about "how much $$$$" it cost to do. And when that's the case, you better believe the pressure for it to do well is enough to make the lid of any sized pot bang away like it's going to blow.
It's enough to make me feel a little antsy.
I just don't get why the bearding needs to be done for so long. Seems to me, what makes a guy even more appealing to female fans is if he's unattached. If they're going to promote Jake as a hunky crimefighter (I know that's a bad choice of words, but I'm having to think fast on my feet right now - lunch is up, lol), he's not going to be appealing to all the women fans if he's looking hot on screen, but he's hooked up with Reese and a brand new stepdad while still being only 28.
I'm not seeing the hot appeal in that.
Anyway, so many questions. And no answers.
Guess I will always be the dissenting one who will think that Austin and Jake are still together.
Waited for two years to see pictures of them together again, and when they did Jake's beaming smile and Austin protectiveness and that back off he's mine vibe from before was just as strong and clear as ever before. I don't mind wearing my glasses longer.

I think PoP must be a disaster in the making. The need to use Reeke to promote it, plus Jake perhaps being afraid that if it fails he'll be blamed for it, but hey, at least it's not because he's gay!

^^ Exactly. As much as Reeke wants to show the world they live together by having a "Jake doddles around the front garden" or "Here's Jake in his pajamas fetching the Brentwood World News morning paper" photo op, Reese can't have pics of outside her house in People or Us for security reasons. So the next best thing is the community gate, pics of Jake with a friend on their bikes. It implies that Jake lives there with Reese and the friend came over to their house.
Just to add my tuppence to the discussion about the time Jake may dor may not spent with Reese.
When you look at the number of Reeking events per month, its usually around 4/5 coffee runs / pilates pick ups / smooches on the softball field and recently one longer 'overnight' stay required. If each photo op takes around two hours of their time (travel / prop checking / actual photo session) you're talking around 8/10 hours per month. Add in the overnight stay, and it really doesn't account for that much time does it. If Jake & Reese both treat it as part of their work, its hardly even covering a full week's work for most people.
Of course there could be lots of times they're together and no-one knows about it, but then that could be said about Jake (or Reese) spending time with anyone else couldn't it. When you think how much time you spend with people you work / study with, in comparison its really not that much time. And most of us (certainly not me) are being paid $10 million.
Okay the recent European 'love tour' was more time intensive. But Jake's actual involvement in that could have been limited to 2/3 hours per day. Remember for large parts of that trip Reese was probably taking part in a media blitz. who knows if he took a friend along (and I'm not suggesting Austin) and spent most of the time actually doing things / going places he wanted to. Maybe he just hung out at the hotel, they were staying a fairly fancy places so i could imagine that wouldn't be too stressful an experience.
And of course they probably get along, I get along with alot of my colleagues, but apart from a few notable exceptions i have absolutely no desire to ever sleep with them. They probabaly have a good old laugh about the ridiculous situation they both find themselves in and Reese has (and probably still does) offered support to Jake about his predicament (can't beleive I'm actually being nice to Reese, but there you go).
What we seem to forget is that Reese probably doesn't want to be bearding, but if HW is a cruel place gay actors, its also a very cruel place to actresses over 30, even when they do have an oscar.

M, very funny to hear about that comment in OTH about Jake. All this season there've been things that I thought were sly references to Austin's real life, and this convinces me even more. Calling the bad guy director Reese. The scene in which Brulian are talking about the people they've supposedly dated according to some magazine (which is of course a reference to Sophia and Austin dating), the campy shirtless actors audtioning scene.

What's that, Star Trek took in another $29 million this weekend, it's third week, with new movies to compete against, and no longer on IMAX so the price of the tickets was lower? And it's made almost $270 million world-wide?

Looking at Mike Newell, he has had a great track record as a director, and it seems like Disney and Bruck must be pleased with his work to be letting him do Lone Ranger.
The newest clips look good, well at least to me. There has been no leaks or gossip from the industry about it being a disaster. Alot of are they aren't they real, talk.
And look who you have as leads Jake, Ben Kingsley, and Alfred Molina, none of the three are slouches in the acting department, with 6 BAFTA Noms and 2 wins, and 5 Oscar Noms and 1 win between the three of them. Newell has won the BAFTA as well. I'm not saying awards are everything but they have all had records of great performances. On that alone I'm just going to play the wait and see.
Star Trek is by far the best film this year, and Zachary Quinto just superb as Spock.
And talking of props, in the 'Ojai market' pics, how many cucumbers can you eat over a couple of days. Has Jake gone in to outside catering now that the acting gigs are tailing off.
I know no one will agree with my but maybe he took it down because he push the bs a little too far. It got traffic, but maybe not the kind of traffic he wanted. Hey JMO.

Of course it is way too early to know how PoP will be, so I could be totally wrong, or maybe it's less a case of the movie not being good and more a matter of them having no faith in Jake's ability to sell a movie. After all, did we really need Bruckheimer telling us Jake is good looking? Strange and creepy.
The biking pics in front of the gate came first and they were in Santa Monica. People other than Reese DO have gates in front of their homes and some of them even live in Santa Monica. Shocking, I know.
The other pics after that, of them riding in the street, were first billed as being in Brentwood.
But that appearantly was also not true, since Stephanie has since changed the caption to those being in Santa Monica as well.
How can people berate Jake for making everything about Reese when it's actually you doing it?
But by all means please explain how having the first set in front of the gate billed as being in Santa Monica is damage control for Reeke. I'd really love to hear that one.

I thought Star Trek was really great, Zachary is uncannily good as Spock, Chris Pine makes a wonderful Captain Kirk, and they are awesome together.

I think his post was true and he had no idea the interest in Jake's sexuality. I think he did meet Jake and that Jake did contact his friend and ask to hang out.
There is no way to know why he chose to take the post down or if his perception of Jake's interest in him is correct.
The bike pics from 3/6 are still tagged as Brentwood. The bike pics from April in front of the gated say S.Monics, they always have said that, Stephanie never changed it.
Just popping to tell you that while we may not know where Austin is NOW, at least he WILL be in LA on May 30th to present/attend the Millenium Awards! :)

He lives in LA, is blogging and posting a story claiming a relative well known actor wants to hook up with him (true or not) and he had no idea that he would cause some reactions? Sorry, but he must be complete naive or complete dumb.
The only surprise is that the story was up on his blog until today. I don´t believe for one second that the deleting was his own decision.

I saw a documentary on the persian empire last evening,they showed several kings's graves digged in the rock with wealthy scuplted facades, just wonderful! and at this moment, they used an oriental melody almost romantic and yet it wasn't the intention lol
I think it would suit perfectly the scene of Dastan and Tamina dominating the desert.
After they showed statues and frescos and I can confirm now , persians had hair falling on the shoulders with a long long beard.

I gotta share a funny, first of all. My lil buddy - she cracks me up alot. She's so street smart & good at whatever job she does, then other times, she makes me feel 10 feet tall when I can tell her something she doesn't know and she'll act like you just told her the secret to eternal youth or something.
I was razzing her this afternoon on our IM about one of our shag drivers (that's a driver who drives a bobtail cab & he shuffles empty/loaded trailers in and out of dock doors all day long) showing off all his chest hair for her at the driver window today at lunchtime when I went down there. About poked my eye out, it was everywhere I am telling you.
Anyway, we got to talking about how much chest hair we liked on a man and I mentioned how I also liked a good treasure trail. And she im'd back, "What?" And I told her what it was. Then, later on, we had one of our other cubemates join in the convo and we caught her up to date on what we'd been talking about and my lil buddy called it a treasure strip. lol!!!
She's so cute; I just love her to death. Yeah, I know, we were supposed to be working, but well, sometimes, there are urgent matters that need discussing.
As a 3rd generation California native I am disgusted with our Supreme Court. How could the same justices decide with a 4-3 ruling to allow gay marriage then decide 6-1 to not have it? Three of the "gay marriage is right" people switched over to "gay marriage is wrong" WTF?
Anyway I read something in the LA Times that made me look at the big picture and feel better. Were the ladies in a Sunday Spotlight? Anyway I hope you read it and feel better about it too. It will all work out. ;*
We never even thought about getting married back then. It didn't become an issue for a long time -- in fact, it never was much of an issue for us. The gay rights movement was new, and there were so many other issues. We wanted a law that would keep people from getting fired because they were gay. We wanted a law that made it illegal to throw people out of their houses because they were gay. We were feminists, and a lot of the feminist movement was opposed to marriage because the institution gave men power over women.

It's just a blog, it's his own blog, and if it had been me (with me being a guy, of course) putting that up with it being the total truth, if some PR yuppie contacted me & told me to take it down, there's no way I'm going to.
With that disclaimer on there, what could they do? Not only that, but if it was the absolute truth, there's nothing to hide.
"So sue me". Unless, his friend wouldn't stick up on his part in it, or Jake went through the friend (again) to persuade him to take it down , or he just had some sudden stroke of sympathy when he realized he could be helping to out a celebrity who was considered in the closet.

I can't imagine anyone having a personal blog who wouldn't be flattered to be getting all kinds of attention on a post. If it were true, I would think he'd be willing to stand up to what he said. Talk about a little 5 minutes of fame.
Unless he was getting some really vicious comments or threats from people. But even then, if it were true, I'd leave it up. To heck with it. I'd stand by what I put up. Don't like it? Don't read it. And just delete the comment.
To me, there's no need to hide or delete when you're telling the truth, simple as that. Do with it what you will.

Well, I ought to rephrase my last part. There's no need to hide or delete unless you're sorry you put it up (maybe not necessarily because it wasn't true. Could be true, but you regret being so blunt or just plain regret putting it up for all to see). But usually, I get the regrets pretty quickly. So, to get the regrets several days later? That would be a different puzzling issue.

With so many looking for their 15 minutes of fame on Inside Edition, Entertainment Tonight or Fox News in the morning, and then having visions of a reality show or book being published, I think the day has arrived when it's not always going to be enough to have great PR people, bodyguards, or expect someone to just be too nice to reveal some scandalous picture or story.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least if there's money passed under the table or some palmgreasing going on in order to keep people quiet. That'd be about the only way to buy someone's silence. $$$$.

All I know is that those J and A biking pics came out of no where. Not only did OMG and WFT2 make a big deal out it many other celeb and gossip blogs did also.
One of two things possible J and A took the risk on their own and got hammered for it. Hence A has dissappeared and we have been reeked to death ever since. The other possibility is that PR was stupid enough to think reeke has worked so magnificiently that the guys were allowed out for a ride. Well guess what if that was the case they were wrong. No one has forgotten J and A. Wont happen.
I def think the gated pics were second and staged.
Man something sure scared the shit out of JG. I almost feel bad I made a comment but I felt if someone puts some thing out there like that I would like to know more about it. I def now more than ever believe he felt jake was coming on to him. Shame the guy was scared into taking down that post. He very well may have been threatened if not then maybe the mentioned mutual friend asked him to remove the post.
Man it would be awesome to see Zachary come out and become a huge star just so Jake could realize what a huge mistake he has made. The power that tamed Jake though will probably smash the hotness and breath of fresh air that Zachary could be just like they did Jake. Sad.

Good things come out of bad, the gay community is energized by what is going to just be a temporary setback in one state. People are turning out for rallies, like I did in NYC tonight, and working harder than ever to change things in other states.
A big gay rights rally is being planned for D.C. this fall, at the rally I went to they said it will be on Oct. 10, the Columbus Day weekend.
I am totally bummed out by the CA decision. Embarrassed too. I always felt a bit smug about living in a progressive state. Can't say that anymore. I hope this will spur a huge battle in the coming months.
As for Reeke, I thought they were friends, buddies in the beginning. But you can see that the novelty wore off along the way. Remember that grim picture after dinner with their boss. Jake looked ready to cry. It was never the same after that. I think they don't really want to be seen together at all. Just the minimum required by the contract. The bs about avoiding couple pics to annoy paps is crap. In case they haven't noticed, no one is that interested in them. Right now Disney probably wishes they chose Pattison for POP.
Sorry if I am bitchy right now, but as I said the Prop 8 thing really upset me.
You're right Destiny - triumph comes through adversity. Today's decision is a bitter pill, I just don't get it. Living in MA before during and after the decision for same sex marriage here, all the critics statements of what would happen never materialized. All it did was allow everyone in Massachusetts a chance to get married which is what should have been anyways.
But you're right the decision in California will help mobilize others around the country. Thanks for info on the rally in DC in Oct, keep us to update when you hear more details.
Hey, thanks for hugging back Spesh & Dest! :) This is my best hope Destiny, that this decision was the kick in the butt needed for people to really get together and show what they're really made of. Like many others I have a strong feeling that many CA citizens who were against Prop 8 stayed home, snug and confident that it stood no chance in a state like theirs. Here's hoping that this wake-up call bodes well for the future!

Most of the California leaders responding to the court decision in this article are for gay marriage, so how in hell did the opposition win? It pisses me off. Anyway in it are the usual comments but these two from the LA Mayor and the Lt. Gov are awesome and deserve to be posted.

Now for a serious post.
Bottom line, the decision today was based on California law regarding the right of the people to amend the constitution, it wasn't, per se, a vote by this court against gay marriage. The problem is that civil rights should not be a matter of popular vote like this. All kinds of civil rights wouldn't be voted away, and that's also why this is such a horrid decision too.
I am so positive that Jake will let the world know how dissappointed he is with the courts decsision. I expect he will go on Ellen come out and tell the world how wrong prop 8 is today. Jake has shown over the last few months what a brave and courageous guy he is. How can you not admire him.
Why don't you do something Tom instead of obsessing over that tool.
