Yankee slugger Jason Giambi wears a gold lamé, tiger-stripe thong under his uniform when he wants to break out of a slump - and he shares it with hitless teammates who want to get back on track.

"I only put it on when I'm desperate to get out of a big slump," he tells Portfolio.com. Over the years, the 37-year-old All-Star has left the "golden thong" in the lockers of slumping teammates Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Johnny Damon, Robin Ventura and Robinson Cano.
"All of them wore it and got hits," he reports. "The thong works every time."


The rest of the story? It's gotta be Jake being the Red Sox fan he is, was just getting something to send to the Yankees for good luck for the upcoming baseball season. (cough cough) But will it become the curse of the Golden Giambi? Let's just hope. Go Sox.
