All in the Family

Jake has been taking all the Tobey calling all in stride the past few weeks, and it does confirm that Sheridan's pick casting for Tobey and Jake as the Cahill brothers is spot on by their resemblance. Eight weeks from now we will see if how they well they do with the fraternal chemistry.

But are their any other potential Cahill Brothers out there? Are there some other that could join 'em and be all in the family?

There's Rob who kind of has a resemblance of younger Jake to some.

Or Topher . Who favors Tobey more.

But what about Ryan as the quirky brother who lives above the garage with a life size doll?

Or younger brother like Green Bay Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers?

And can't forget Aunt K.D.

Anyone else you think could make the cut in the Cahill clan?

Speaking of family, Bailee Madison who plays Jake's niece is Isabelle in Brother's talked to ClevverTV.com about working with the Tobey, Jake and Natalie.

I know she's 10 but she interviews better than some of Jake's past leading ladies. And I'm not talking about Jen, Gwen, Chloe or Meryl.

Everybody and their Brother

This is Jake

And this is his brother

And this is his other brother.

Any questions?

Josh Gad has just been picked to play Jake's younger brother, a vulgar but successful dot-com entrepreneur who moves in with his big brother in the movie Love and Other Drugs. Some might know Josh from his newest job as a reporter for The Daily Show. Or from the movie The Rocker, when he played Rainn Wilson's nephew, Matt Gadman. Others may remember him as the young news director on the short lived comedy Back to You, with Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton. The LA native has performed with the comedy improv troupe The Groundlings, and is a founder/member of The Lost Nomads Comedy Troupe. He also played William Barfee in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on Broadway.

A improv comedian in a movie about Viagra, and Jake being a goof on set, somehow I see this little brother and big brother combo spelling T-R-O-U-B-L-E. Good luck Ed Zwick. Here's hoping you get it all on film for the DVD extras.

The question remains who will play their dad. Any ideas now?

You think he's already started borrowing his big brother Jake's stuff?

Another Smaller World moment:

Jake's co-star and brother in law Peter Sarsgaard was on Conan O'Brien last night, and who was the musical guest? Austin's One Tree Hill co-star Kat
e Voegele aka "Mia Catalano". - All things connect.

Please excuse my indulgence today.

"Action is his reward"

Recent chatter about Tobey and the deal for Spiderman 4 and possibly 5 is a reminder of when Jake was in contention for stepping in and filling those Spidey tighties. Jake has always had a place for playing a superhero in him.

Would Jake's approach to the Peter Parker and Spiderman darker or more of internal struggle than Tobey's approach? Or would or could he have take it even further in the Superhero saves the world scenario?

Would they have to recast Mary Jane if he did, to avoid the Gigli curse?

Could he have taken over the franchise then and led it to the box office records it has become?

And the biggest one:

Would it have been better to step into established role and franchise like Spiderman or create a franchise on your own like he is doing now with Prince of Persia? Both from artistic perspective and from the Hollywood ladder.

He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother

New news regarding Brothers. (Thanks Brothers! for the press release)

Brothers is set to film in and around Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Las Vegas, Abiquiu and Glorieta, New Mexico from November 27 to January 30, giving Tobey, Natalie and Jake a Southwest flavor to their holiday season, and maybe a little spice to Jake's birthday.

It looks like Jake will have a good time on this project working with friends and director Jim Sheridan. Might be a good break from the intense shoots of Zodiac and Rendition.

Brothers tells the story of a man who is sent to fight in Afghanistan (Tobey) while his black-sheep brother(Jake) becomes caretaker to his wife (Natalie) and child.

Disappointing that the Boston location wasn't chosen, but there are upsides to the New Mexico one. Closer to home for Jake to go see his boys -- the Lakers, Atticus, oh, oh, yeah and that guy who looks like Tom Brady. And the other reason - great turquoise, just in case he needs to pick up some Christmas gifts.
