While there is never a time to condone driving while intoxicated. I don't think we should rush and throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Meaning, there should not be a campaign or rush of people telling Jake to dump Austin. There are two people in couple, not the thousands who watch from the outside. The relationship was them when they met, and it was just them yesterday and it will be them tomorrow. We have our opinions, but they are ours --that's it.
Yes there should be a consequence for actions. Yes there should be contrition for driving under the influence. I am sure that the State of Michigan and Austin will be working on what that consequence will be for him.
We can agree that drinking and driving is not right.
I hope we can agree to have level clear heads and be objective. I hope that we will not go wild in speculation about Austin or the current status of his relationship with Jake.

We do not know why there was drinking --it could have been a party, it could have been dinner with a little more wine or beer than normal.

I think they have been different times over the summer they are together. You don't have to be together every moment everyday to have a relationship, look at these past couple of years, they have been through so much and were everywhere and not together all the time.

If you think Ted's BI about Toothy and bf was true about being stopped by the cops for a bit of somethin' somethin' in a car then Jake knows what it feels like to come thisclose to a brush with the law. I'm sure he feels for Austin (despite the reckless stupidity involved) and they are lucky not to have their mugshots all over the place together for a "lewd behaviour". Hope he takes care of Austin when he's down.
Despite how bad this situation is, it is actually going to be interesting to see how Jake reacts to this.
This isn't just an ex co-star of his. This is someone whom at the very least is always publically named as his BFF.

I hope you are right Orchid and Stuboorn. I would love to see Jake show up in Michigan. If he and Austin are together that is where he belongs right now. You're very astute. But if they uncover facts about Austin and/or Jake's secret gay life, they WILL contact their management and tell them they have this information. And will Jake or Austin confirm/refute, etc.? They also may make an arrangement to suppress the info unless a quid pro quo (Jake or Austin exclusive interview) is also done.

Going to admit to my geekatude here, but I've actually have Jake's autograph on four separate pictures: one is the TDAT EW with the light blue shirt, the other three are Jack Twist - a close-up smiling, in the Del Mar doorway right after the reunion kiss with Ennis, and in camp on their last night together also with Ennis (Heath's is also on the last two pics).

From a PR perspective it doesn’t make sense. Rendition is coming. Jeese is in full swing. And in the career of a near-A-lister like Jake wouldn't any coming-out be a well-planned and well-timed development?
I don't think Austin's problems could trigger it either. Some may say that having to hide his support for his man may prove to be the last straw for Jake but as Heph wrote at FCC, if Jake comes out, Austin comes out. On the other hand, A is professionally "safe" (for the time being) because of his holding deal with HBO… But again, it would be an almost on-the-spot decision and with guys like Jaustin I just don't see this happening.

JJ just got a hold of Ted's 2 year plus TT BI, how can you say it's fact specific? Most likely he made up the Jake and Kristen scenerio at that hotel, A hotel that they both hung out at the time and was reported, easy to add. Also the arrest supposedly happened in '05 not last year, 06. If so Ted would have mentioned it last year. Safe to add a resturaunt because you really can't check since it happened in the parking lot. And when he says there are pictures of Jake and his BF all over the net and he even vacations with him, why do I think someone forwarded him that ONTD post with Jake and Chris that was posted a few weeks back. The guy is a fraud and not a very good one.
PS: The baby thing in the Westwood clinic is vague, which clinic and September?? When did Ted mention his TT baby story? Was it late January/ Feb? Nine months, JJ can count!!! LOL!!

JJ did NOT make up this story. Mind you, he got an e-mail from a source who knows Jake. Prior to this, JJ really thought Jake was straight and that his relationship wth Reese was real. He said so in his blog. Lighten up and give this kid a break.

I guess I need more coffee than I thought if I am wrong about when Jake left MV last year. I
don't think this guy should be outing Jake, I think that should only be done to people who are in power and use their position in a way that is harmful to the gay community. But beyond that, I am not so sure he should be written off as knowing nothing. Why now? I think something is out there beyond the usual Ted TT stories, and he may just be picking up on them. ANd yes, it is is easy to fake details when no one can confirm them, but I'm just going to sit on the sidelines and see what happens. For all we know the NE is working on some kind of story and he is hearing about it.
I don't understand the hostility. JJ mentioned someone would be outed and thats what he did. Yes JJ is unreliable but it's more material to discuss.
