Wet, Slutty, and Scared

For Nightcrawler Jake got wet, slutty and a little scared.

On his return to The Tonight Show, Jake and Jimmy had a Water War.

They also talked about Jake on Broadway.
And then from a pretaped interview (done a couple weeks ago from the hair and the beard) Jake talks about getting slutty as a part of Halloween costume discussions, which include several of his father's Halloween costume creations, and for some reason white spandex.

Scared Back

It's been a while since Jake has visited some shows to sit down and chat and others he might rethink while he is visiting.

Wednesday Jake is making a return visit to Ellen in less than a year but after this sit down he might not be back for a while.

Check out what happens on the video sneak peek of Jake on Ellen on Wed.

Jake's scared for sure but scared straight?  ; )

But Jake's not scared of The Tonight Show anymore.

He will return to The Tonight Show for the first time since 2006 and the show is scheduled for some old friends and some old school funk joining him on Wednesday night.  Joining Jake and Jimmy are former Nailed co-star Paul Reubens (aka Pee Wee Herman), former Good Girl co-star Zoey Deschannel as part of the singing duo She & Him, and the most Funkadelic George Clinton.

Oh all the potential of singing, dancing, and booty shaking funk.

Now if he can get those white platform shoes,
no doubt he knows how to get funky with Tequila from some tequila fan he knows.

Last Tonight But a New Tomorrow

It's Jay Leno's last night as the host of The Tonight Show

But it's been a long long time since Jake as been on the show

Jake's last appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno was  January 13, 2006
After all the Brokeback jokes Jay made Jake came on most gracious to talk about the movie.

There is no way to tell why Jake never returned to the late night talk show, despite the number of movies he promoted in the last 8 year. But it was clear Jake had a problem with the host.

It was glaring how Jake never returned to Jay's couch.  But he went to visit Conan after Conan was fired from NBC.

Don't think that will happen with the new host of The Tonight Show though.

It's the giggles to between Jake and Jimmy that will be the biggest problem.

Blue Bananas

You might have seen Jake and the Banana Boyz already

but is once enough for a performance of this caliber?

But don't think you've seen this yet. This is Jake and Jimmy during the commercial break.

In the web exclusive they talk about the Banana Boyz, and acting, and oh yeah make a couple of promos between the giggles.

UPDATE: Here is Jake's interview with Jimmy.

Something else of interest.

Rolling Stone did a piece about the music compilation for The Gulf, Gasoline Rainbow, that Austin heading up with his co-star. It's good buzz for the project but there is something that jumped off of the page.

The name of the record label.

Roark Records

It is not uncommon for people to create small independent labels especially for special projects. And the name of this little label points straight to Austin.

Why? Howard Roark is the protagonist of The Fountainhead. It is also a book that Austin was so into that he turned into a book club selection that he said with everyone through Southern Gothic.

And it says a lot about Austin that he would name a label Roark Records (and not for the alliteration quality like his partner in fundraising might think)

Howard Roark

Roark choose to struggle in obscurity rather than compromise his artistic and personal vision. He is the example of free will — the theory that an individual has the power, by virtue of the choices he makes, to control the outcome of his own life. He the a first hander an individual who relies on his own thinking, who does not place the beliefs of others before the functioning of his own mind. He served as a champion for Rand's life philosophy based on selfishness ("the commitment, in action, to one's self, i.e., one's own values; a persistent quest to achieve — and the refusal to betray — one's values for any reason") which she called Objectivism.

Howard keeps his integrity the whole time and ends up living happily ever after.
He seemed to have the hardest life all in the book but ended up the happiest of all of them.

So what is Austin trying to say about the man behind the music?
