Lose the lumber

Way back in 2008 OMG shared How to make a LumberJake.

And around that time the word Lumbersexual was added to the Urban Dictionary

A Metro-sexual who has the need to hold on to some outdoor based rugged-ness, thus opting to keep a finely trimmed beard. - Urban Dictionary 2008

(Although back in February 2004 someone had defined Lumbersexual on Urban Dictionary as:  “A male who humps anyone who gives him wood.” )

Who knew we were years ahead of the newest trend?

As fall becomes winter 2014,  Lumbersexual is popping up all over the media. And yes blame it on Brooklyn and all those bearded, plaid shirted, Carhartt jacketed, boot wearing, kambucha drinking, Soul Cycle/Yoga taking guys.

Sound like anyone OMG knows?

Now that lumbersexual has made it to Time Magazine - it takes it out of the trend and makes it more like a dying star.

With Jake seemingly always years ahead of the curve, does this mean in another two years, shiny parachute jackets will be peaking?

 Or the reverse tuxedo?

Or a duck blind masquerading as a coat?

 Or just a Jake-a-sexual?

Not tonight dear....

...I've got a headache.

Oh Julian - what is up with that? Do you need some Head on?

A headache? Business got you distracted? Or is there something else that has turned you into the "not tonight dear" boy when it comes to Brooke and girls like her?

One question when sporting a fivehead does that mean a bigger Head On?

Guess you are not going to rock with your .... Seriously Alex is a writer? Or is Julian and Alex just getting together to watch Grease 2 over and over again?

Next week on OTH : Julian goes camping with the guys. Will this mean he's going to tap his inner LumberJake? (Wait is that what he does on those man of mystery weekends?)

How to Make a LumberJake

1. Take one man.

Please note that extra jewelry on the hand and wrists could be dangerous, watches are ok. Please keep any chains tucked in for safety precautions.

2. Add ax.

Safety note : Activities involving axes should done outdoors.

3. Add a Beard

4. And Plaid Shirt

5. Or Puffy Vest

Vests provide warmth but allow arms movements for axe swinging.

6. Remember Safety First. Face guards /shields/safety glasses should have a good fit and have no obstructions to view for daily activities.

7. Add heavy heavy shirt coat when it gets too "chilly" for just a puffy vest. Plaid is an excellent choice.

And return to the woods.

There you have it : a LumberJake or is that the Brawny Man?

Safety Tip:
You should never LumberJake alone.
