Action Figure

Jake has always said he wanted to be a superhero or do an action hero kind of movie. And it's that just one of the reasons he is doing Prince of Persia. And from all the gossip about auditions and items about his name up for various roles (Batman, Green Lantern, Captain America) he has been wanting to do it for a while. And his name has come up again, for the new Spiderman, now that studios have to decided that Tobey is not person to take Spiderman into the 10's. Jake was this close to playing Spidey before, but is he really up for the role again?

The word is that they wanted to make a younger Spidey and have floated names like Robert Pattinson and Zac Efron as next potential Peter Parker for 2012. But Jake's name has come up too. All three have the name to carry the next incarnation of the franchise. Yes Jake is younger than Tobey, but is he young enough to be the Spidey they want?

And would he do it if he's tied up with Prince of Persia? Would Bruckheimer let him, is the bigger question. Could you have two franchises at the same time? Was this one of the things Bruck was talking to Jakey about when they went out for Tuesday night hockey?

One thing in common about Spidey and Dastan is there are action figures for both. And looks like Jake has no problem being made in miniature and turned into a action figure. Honestly who wouldn't want to be turned into an action figure. (come on admit it) Jake says he will be first in line to buy the miniature version of himself for his Prince of Persia ones. “A lot of people find it weird to have little action figures of themselves, but I think it’s great. In fact it’s awesome! I can’t wait. I’m going to buy loads.”

But he, along with his rumored competitor for Spiderman Rob Pattinson are action figures in another way too. Both we will be a part of George Clooney's Hope for Haiti telethon this Friday. They will joining other stars to help to raise desperately needed funds for Haiti.

The two-hour telethon will air on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT as well as networks including PBS, TNT, Showtime, Comedy Central, Brave, E! Entertainment and more, with online live streaming available on YouTube, Hulu, MySpace and more domains as well.

Clooney will host from LA, CNN’s Anderson Cooper will report from Haiti and Wyclef Jean in New York City. According to E! Rob will present from London.

Some of the musical acts will include Wyclef, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira and Sting from NYC, from LA, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder and Taylor Swift Keith Urban, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow and from London, Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z and Rihanna and Coldplay.

This is one chance we all can be an action figure. The need in Haiti is so great, and every little bit no matter if it looks small to you makes a big difference when combined with other.

Some of you may have already donated, others will wait for the telethon, but if you want to donate and not sure where, here is a list of reputable agencies that will help take your gift and put it to good use helping the people of Haiti.

Top Ten with a Puck

Top Ten Things Jake was thinking at the Kings/Sharks Game

10. San Jose... Spanish.... Spanish... Mexico... Mex....Tex Mex....Texas... Austin

9. No tight uniforms or shorts AND they wear facemasks, I got nothing. Now I know what Bruck picked a hockey game.

8. Knights and Sharks? I thought it was Jets and Sharks...."when you're a Jet..."

7. I wore the Kings' colors, but now I wish I went with the Shark's fun aqua and purple.

6. Don't look. Don't look. Eyes straight ahead. Where does Bruck's hairline stop and the styling begin? Don't look.

5. Business meeting. Why am I craving a latte?

4. You know hockey isn't that bad. There's stick handling, hip checking and banging into the boards.

3. Remember don't agree to anything even if he buys you a foam finger.

2. Is this too much leather? I never know what to wear for business. This is going to be LumberJake all over again.

1. Ohhh nooooo. I'm not doing that again. One and done.

Just had to add this. Too good not to make a part of post.

Old Pic posted this morning.
I don’t know if this was discussed before. This is an old Jake pic from November 2004. Is the guy on the right wearing black Austin?

That grin and that ear.

Ring around the ....

And not the collar.

Did Austin ring the new year with something special?
At the Art of Elysium gala Austin hit the red carpet where a little something something on his right ring finger.
A couple of rings have graced that finger, but one thing for certain he makes sure to show all of them off. Like there is a reason for a ring to be on that finger?

At first it looks like it was an amber stone, but up close and flipped around it looks like it could be a special signet ring.
What do you think? Could there be some special initials on the outside or inside of it? Maybe family crest for a little family?

We've always known that Austin love accessories and jewelry and we know something else does and likes to gift it too. Jake seems to have some little boxes in that bag when he was out shopping for Christmas.
Sounds like something rings very true.

Tipsy Texan aka the Pickled Nichols

Austin at the WB/In Style Party last night and you know I 've seen this look before.

Hmmm where have I?
Oh that's right.

Here.

and the jury is still out if it was it here too

Maybe it's
Ta ta ta ta Tequila face
Ta ta ta ta Tequila face

Back in the fall Austin was seen with Sophia for a couple of other events. He was asked why he was there.

"To be honest, I'm here to drink the free tequila and come to the Hammer Museum because I'm an art lover," he explained of why he happened to be at the event. "I'm just here to enjoy the party!"

When asked specifically if he was Sophia's date for the night (which he was so obviously was), he wouldn't confirm or deny the hookup.

"I'm not gonna say anything except that...I'm here to drink. We were talking before, we have a bunch of friends together, we work together," he said. Party Girl E!Online Oct 12, 2009

Looking back at an old interview Austin did with Ocean Drive it might give a little background to his approach these kind of events.

Ocean Drive: Have you ever been to Miami?

"I did an independent movie there for maybe two weeks. I went to this famous place, a nightclub where you sit around the pool. The producers took me out on South Beach one night. It was ridiculous. We went to the hotels, sat by the pool and had drinks, and I got completely obliterated. It was the only way I could deal. I'm not very good in those situations."

Jake did the video for Blame it on the a a a a a alcohol with Jamie Foxx
But maybe Jake and Austin could do it as a duet with a interesting crescendo.

Blame it on the Goose
Got you feeling loose

Blame it on Petron
Got you in the zone

Oh yeah OTH is back tonight after their multi week break on the CW.
Little Hollywood Trivia for you. Did you know that The CW is a joint venture between CBS Corporation, the former owners of United Paramount Network (UPN), and Time Warner's Warner Bros., former majority owner of The WB Television Network.

Wow the faces of OTH at the WB party the night before they come back from reruns. Funny that.

Wonder Sophia got a chance to see if there will be a season 8 or not for her show.

Out Spotlight CVXX

Today's Out Spotlight is the organization POWER UP (Professional Organization of Women in Entertainment Reaching Up). It is the only non-profit film production company and educational organization for women and the GLBTQ community.

It was founded in 2000 by film producers Stacy Codikow and Amy Shomer with the mission "to promote the visibility and integration of gay women in entertainment, arts and all forms of media," they have done that with "challenging perception through film,". Women have been, and remain, terribly underrepresented in all levels of the industry, and lesbian content is the least financed entertainment product. Codikow, decided to run POWER UP as a fulltime volunteer choosing to step away from her successful career as a television writer and film producer. They created a place to educate GLBTQ women and help unify and create good films that represent the GLBTQ community. The members of POWER UP include men and women, gay and straight.

POWER UP develops, finances, produces and distributes award winning films as well as conducts successful educational programs through hands-on filmmaking mentorships, classes, workshops and seminars. It provides career, script, television and film counseling and publishes it's own magazine. POWER UP also awards notable contributors to the arts, entertainment and the GLBTQ community. And they bolster the community; unifying and validating GLBTQ persons all around the world through their films.

Over the past 9 years its films and Awardees have garnered much respect and media attention as well as POWER UP's‚ "10 Amazing Gay Women in Showbiz" and this past year adding "Amazing Gay Men in Showbiz."

POWER UP's programs are run by volunteers and/or people working for a very modest stipend to make this all happen. They choose to put their monies into their educational programs, films and member services than into salaries or operational costs out of respect to the donors and in service of GLBTQ community. It runs entirely on donations of corporations and individuals.

In 2004, POWER UP was awarded the Leadership Award by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.

Although its mission is geared towards gay women, they have always been an integrated organization and has supported men & women, gay, transgendered & straight within all of their programs and films. After Prop 8's passage, the demand for GLBTQ equality became a more paramount mission for everyone in the GLBTQ community and POWER UP felt and even stronger need to unify. With that they decided to expand their mission, awards and programs to include men, officially became Co-Ed in June 2009.

In 2008 POWER UP started their PSA Program, and produced and distributed two Marriage Equality PSA Campaigns, comprised of 23 individual commericals: the Stop the Hate, Vote No on 8(LINK), which was the only celebrity “No on Prop 8” commercial and the Get to Know Us First Campaign (LINK), which is the first campaign with real gay families. POWER UP also produced the important STOP Domestic Violence (LINK) music video for the out-artist Melange Lavonne. All of their PSA's can be seen on their website.

POWER UP's most successful educational curriculum has been its unique Filmmaking Program, through which POWER UP has produced 14 films over the last 8 yrs and has launched careers for countless women and men in all fields. Some examples of their success stories include: writer/director Angela Robinson (D.E.B.S., HERBIE: FULLY LOADED, the L word); writer/director Jessica Sharzer (SPEAK, untitled DUSTY SPRINGFIELD project); writer/director Cherien Dabis (AMERIKA, producer L WORD); and writer/director Colette Burson (Creator of the HBO series HUNG.)

They also provides funding and assistance to filmmakers, as well as producing its own films. After several short films, their first feature film was the comedy Itty Bitty Titty Committee directed by Jamie Babbit.

When is a Goose a Duck?

Some would argue that Austin is one lucky duck, but coming up on OTH, this goose will totally be Ducky.

SPOILER ALERT
Episode 7.15 Don’t You Forget About Me”

AN HOMAGE TO THE LATE DIRECTOR JOHN HUGHES — In the chaos surrounding an ‘80’s alumni dance at the high school, Haley’s birthday is forgotten, Jamie is left home alone, and Nathan and Clay are stranded 200 miles from Tree Hill. Meanwhile, Brooke’s appearance at the dance with Alexander forces Julian to relive his dorky adolescence in an episode dedicated to the memory of John Hughes.

Well Austin has done the hat, the bollo, the pants and the shoes already.

Do you think he practiced kissing on watermelons too?

Can you name all the John Hughes movies in the description?

Share share a like

UPDATE: I put in the pictures that were patiently waiting on my hard drive that no one could get access to yesterday.

Thanks again Wicked for EVERYTHING!! A shower of Gold Stars for you.

It started off as sharing things

Austin's worn Jake's stuff And it looks like Jake's worn Austin's

Now as time goes by it looks like more like sharing a common style.

You think it's from sharing all suitcases, drawers and walk-ins? Or something else. ; )

You really think Austin will give up that bit of funky style that makes him Austin. No way. Now Jake wearing a matching pair of plaid slacks and white shoes some day ... just book Boca for two.

And wow Ted, just put it out there.
