Why would Jake fly into Newark to get home to NYC? Seems like he's been mostly seen flying into LGA. And why is Jake 'chillin' at Newark? If he had arrived, you would think he'd be in a hurry to catch his ride, not hanging out in the airport.
The majority of flights from Toronto into NYC are direct flights. If there's a stop, the stops go into Chicago, Philly, Washington, Ottawa, Cleveland. Since Jake only spends 24-36 hrs in NYC on his weekends, highly doubtful he wants to be spending down time in Cleveland, don't you think?
Interesting if you check flights from Toronto to Austin TX, one of the stops can be at Newark NJ. Furthermore, on a Friday, a few of the flights stop at Newark around the same time that this tweet was sent from the tweeter's Iphone.
Why would Jake fly into Newark to get home to NYC? Seems like he's been mostly seen flying into LGA. And why is Jake 'chillin' at Newark? If he had arrived, you would think he'd be in a hurry to catch his ride, not hanging out in the airport.
Because he flew Porter Airlines which doesn't go to LGA.

So Jake decided this weekend to use Porter Airlines, when his pattern has been to fly directly into LGA. Why go into Newark at all? Particularly, when he only has two days before he has to fly back into Toronto. According to an educated rumor around OMG, this past weekend was Jake and Austin's wedding anniversary too. Newark would fly directly into Austin, TX. And, given the time Jake was seen at the Newark Airport there were at least two flights departing to Austin.
Ah but he was also waited on Friday night by someone who lives and works in NYC.
As for why Porter Air? More convenient flights? Less aggravation than going thru Pearson?

Your the one who acted like you knew Jake's personal flight itinerary for this trip. So you should be able to answer a simple question like where he was seated. By the way, was he wearing the slate gray T-shirt or the khaki green one?

I think you're missing the point. Jake flew from Toronto City Airport via Porter Airlines most likely since it's easier to get to from where he's staying while filming; less crowded and probably had better flight times than Air Canada out of Pearson.
Why would Jake rent a car at the airport when he lives in Soho? Where would he park? Why not just use a car service? All the cool kids do.
It probably takes less time to get to Soho from EWR than it does from LGA on a Friday afternoon.
It would seem that we have been graced with the presence of Jake's personal concierge this evening.
When someone says they live in Brooklyn that's a distinct area. When someone says they are from Long Island, that's another. I've never heard Maggie say that she lives on Long Island.
I agree with the person about Newark. A break in Jake's pattern of travel. No need to fly into Newark to get to NY. Of course, after this discussion, PR will make sure he does it every week.

Whether he was in NYC or TX, he was undoubtedly in the company of his better half and I'm sure he made time for his brood. It could've been in Ireland or the Bahamas, doesn't matter.

Getting to and from Newark is a bigger hassle than LaGuardia. And taking a car service into NYC from there on a Friday night, when everyone is coming into the city to go to the clubs and restaurants? You will be stuck at the tunnels for probably a good hour. I know, because I've made the mistake of coming back to the city on a Friday night after spending the day in New Jersey.
I have no idea where Jake was this weekend, but if he was really at Newark, no way it was because he was spending it in NYC>
