On the Trail

Despite the hurt hand Jake was once again back on the campaign trail this time in New York.

While it might be "no sleep
til  in Brooklyn",  Jake's campaign hq looks like Tribeca and was seen officially popping in and out of a hotel on Friday heading out for a campaign lunch.

Keeping his hurt paw warm and protected under a cozy looking shearling jacket,

Jake was looking like his old self  hitting all the fashion marks in an impeccably tailored tweed suit.  And check out those shiny shoes!

Even Jake's hand is impeccably wrapped too.  That's a hard job especially one handed.  Talk about needing an extra pair of hands to help.

Jake was joined by Denis and Melissa again to chat  about Prisoners with S.A.G. east  while co-star Hugh Jackman  chose to continue to recoup in NYC after disclosing he had a small basel cell carcinoma removed from his nose.

It looks like the Prisoners campaign model is "early  and often".  Here's hoping Jake gets holiday time off for good behavior.

Bizzaro, Jerry

Both Austin and Jake were out this weekend and hitting the red carpet.  Totally different kinds of events that went into the Bizzaro world, that Jake's friend Jerry Seinfeld would say is:

"Yeah, like Bizarro Superman—Superman's exact opposite, who lives in the backwards Bizarro world. Up is down; down is up. He says "Hello" when he leaves, "Goodbye" when he arrives."

Austin rolled into his Vegas with his boys to hit the fight and promote Ray Donovan and he looked every bit the A-lister he plays on the show.

The suit was perfect, none of the ill fitting too short jacket with french cuff undone to make the shirt fit those long arms.  Totally custom made and well tailored.

Hanging with TPTB at Showtime.

You've come a long way Austin.

And yes he brings out his big chunk of gold. To many it looks like bling for ring, but for those in the know it says off the market and his touch of having Jake close.

Sunday night Jake was nominated for, attended and presented the 28th annual Lucille Lortel Awards in NYC.

Now Jake hit the carpet in just a little less than his dashing red carpet perfection.

His jacket just a touch short in the sleeves looked like it was half of a suit, but his trousers definitely not part of this pair.

Slightly short on top below the waist Jake got a case of the too longs.  Causal trousers that puddled around his ankles, it looked like he grab someone else's pair instead of his.

And his shoes not the slim sleek slip ons or oxfords, are more scuffed boots. The  kind of look someone else has sported on the red carpet.   He didn't have a ring to share but maybe the look was a message to his mister, and or he needed the boot heels go with  those too long Austin trousers.

And the beard, while a little wooly, has come into it's own with a little patch of grey that looks like,  "oops you still have a little cream on your face" if you look quick.

Life playing its own dirty little joke.

Jake wasn't only nominated for an award,  he also had the chance to present one and to someone close to him.

His category to announce was Outstanding Female Performance and Jake got the joy of presenting it to his co-star Annie Funke.

Up was down, Down was Up  this weekend with Austin looking every inch  the A-lister and Jake looking like  the up and comer.

See and Say

Jake was honored for his work with New Eyes for the Needy last night at New Eye's 80th Anniversary dinner which held at Colicchio & Sons in New York, after having to be postponed due to Hurricane Sandy.

While his head might have looked a little wild and wooly,  he was the refined gentleman in an impeccably tailored wool suit shoulders downs.

But all the wild didn't hinder him from breaking out the grins.

Jake hasn't gotten to Wolfie stage yet.

Just four more weeks and a trim and the beard can go... or at very least be trimmed and tamed.

After he was honored  Jake "talked at length to the small room – and he didn't even have to give a speech! – he shared some personal stories from childhood." (source)

Jake shared how he got involved with the organization as a kid because his grandpa, a doctor, made him donate his eyeglasses every time his prescription changed.

He said that while "all his friends were trying to save the seals, he maintained 'If you can't see the seals, how can you help them?'

And Jake's date for the night? Mom.

Fashion Derby

Austin might not have made it to Derby Day, but could have fooled some people with Tom Brady.

And it isn't the first time someone saw the resemblance.

"we do remember meeting Nichols at the premiere of his most recent flick, "Glory Road." We stopped to talk to him because he was so tall and handsome, and for no other reason. He admitted to us that he was the only person in the movie who wasn't good at basketball.

"I lied and told them I was a basketball player," he giggled, as we swooned. "I am a terrible basketball player."

We then told him that if they ever made a movie about Tom Brady, he should play him in the lead role. This comment thereby exhausted all of our sports knowledge.

We eavesdropped as he chatted with someone else nearby, who asked him what his favorite recent movie was.

"Brokeback Mountain," he grinned. We gripped a nearby publicist for support. "I can’t think of any other love story that got me so..." and then he trailed off." Source

We always knew Austin was "fashion forward", but is he so ahead that him years ago is he the fashion inspiration for Tommy now?
Last night at The Met Ball Tom's hair looked a lot like Austin's 'do in Italian Vogue.

And then some fashion in black & white.

And how about a tall one this Two Wheel Tuesday?

Seaside style

Remember these?

Way way back...Austin popped his collarto show that it was bigger, but did also show one of Austin's favorite spots too?
He might have given up on those big collars, but can't give up on those California coasts.
Not a bad spot to chill -Aus10

It's not just about how you ride, but where you park it. Happy Two Wheel Tuesday.

Past, Present and Future?

NEW: Jake Leaves Longtime Manager By NIKKI FINKE | Wednesday December 7, 2011 @ 10:32am EXCLUSIVE: Management 360′s Evelyn O’Neill tells me it’s a “very amicable parting” and she hopes he comes back since she and Jake Gyllenhaal go back such a long time — 8 years. “Sometimes people like change in their life. I think he’s amazing, I’m very proud of the work he did together, he was nominated for an Oscar, I want him back, and the door is always open. It is what it is.” I understand Gyllenhaal is not leaving for another manager and he’s not leaving his talent agency CAA. I have a feeling this may be the start of a trend as the movie biz is so muddled with the box office slump that stars who can’t put people in theater seats will see projects falling apart one after another. Rough sledding for the rep business.

It's been full days for Austin as he finishes up his third day in Israel with the big guns from his Jeep tour near the Golan Heights today.

I found a tank on the Syrian Border. Hit this- - Aus10

The group traveled to the northern part of Israel on Tuesday, starting with briefing by Editor in Chief of Israel’s daily newspaper “Ha’aretz”.

Then it was Austin making new friends in music class at the Rogozin Bialik School in South Tel Aviv.

Tuesday afternoon they traveled to Sderot, we they got briefed on the geo-political situation, visited with residents and went to an overview of the Gaza strip. Then they met and talk with a group of film students at local college.

It was then northward and spent the evening at Bayit BaGalil Spa Hotel in the mountains near Safad.

Today it was a visit to the famous Ari Synagogue in Safad and a chance for the guys (no ladies allowed) to spiritually purifying in the Ari Mikveh at Safat. Located in the side of a mountain...it is a climb up or a descent from the top to get to the spring and " plunge back 800 years into the mystical, ritual-immersion pool fed by pure cold waters from the spring directly underneath." Important places in the mystic tradition of Judaism. And how cold was the water ? Check out what fellow traveler Justin's tweeted.

And while it doesn't seem like fans find Austin in the US, they can easily spot him when he's traveling.

And if that isn't enough Nichols to fill up the bank today. How about this new picture from a shoot Austin did earlier with photographer Davis Factor?

Austin of the past? The coat, the suspenders.Nice grey...scarf there mister.

The pic we've seen earlier from that shoot.
