Hanging on to Summer

"Austin you cover Friday's since its "Austin Fridays" what ever the hell that is. Austin Fucking Fridays? "

"Brian, you do Saturdays. Cause it's not Brian Saturdays."

"And I'm going to blog within a blog about the Kierkegaardian knight of faith while listening to some Floyd and watching West World."

"David... uh what does this have to do with OMG's JFC Discussion?"

"Brian, don't even try."

"What is he even talking about?"

Just don't look directly at him and give him that concentrated look on your face and he'll stop either in a hour or when next his flashback happens.

Come and join in with others as we try to figure out what Milch was talking about in the series and take a closer look at the first episode of John From Cincinnati.

A special Friday Evening - Saturday discussion - September 19th and 20th.

Here's a great JFC resource for a study guide.

Thanks Special and Tom. Now I see why I keep coming back. I'm hooked on u guys : )

I'll check in for the JFC discussion for sure.

I have not purchased JFC so won't be adding to the comments, but will enjoy reading everyone's interpretation. I had such great hopes for the show since I loved Deadwood. Too bad it did not work out. I could not make heads or tails of it myself, but watched it several timmes a week to gaze at and support Austin.

ROTFLMAO!!!

Are we doing one episode at a time, or the whole series? Please, for the love of god, let it be one episode at a time. At least then I'll have a fighting chance!

M -
Just to a couple of suggestions. The are transcripts and some clips of JFC on Calamity Dan, and Netflix has the entire series as well.

With Milch we should probably do one scene at a time but it will be more efficient one episode at a time. : )

I'm sure it will take us at least a day and half to figure out 1 hour of his.

Yea, Clarity, I'm glad you're still going to hang in there. It can be a rough ride at times, and I've not even been on here through the thick & thin like you all have.

Work was a cyclone yesterday; indeed, our busy season has hit, and then I pretty much went straight to my 1-night dogsitting gig, Puddy & Nikki. My dog people are calling/emailing left & right now, not sure if it's because gas has gone down a little bit or what.

Wicked, I when I saw your comment about the J-5, I said Drats because I was a huge fan of theirs. I went to go see them in concert in Kansas City in their heyday; they were performing with the Osmonds. Yes, I had a humongous crush on Donny. Even had a purple crushed velvet hat, lol! And yes, I remember their cartoon.
I had all their albums. Don't even get me started about this era in pop music - it was wonderful. Remember Tiger Beat? The Cowsills? Rick Springfield? Geez.

Special (I almost missed your new avatar - he's cute.), thanks for the Cliff Notes for JFC. I, too, look forward to watching JFC again.

And Wicked, can't thank you enuf for the kick in the pants about getting Netflix. It has been great, although I have checked out a few clunkers, lol! Just watched Velvet Goldmine, oh my dog, with Ewan McGregor, Christian Bale & Jon. Rys Meyers. I had no idea they all made a movie together.

Sorry for the long post - yea for the long weekend!!!!

Oh, and you know I can't let this one go. Reese not wanting to be asked about her relationship with Jake??? Is this a sign of things to come? I wonder how reliable I'm Not Obssessed is, if this statement is true or not. My blood started to simmer already upon reading that "demand" concerning interview requirements, but will hold my tongue until it happens again.

FBI may be on the verge on ID'ing the Zodiac Killer

According to CBS13 in Sacramento, the FBI is now running lab tests on the belongings of a man named Jack Tarrance, who died in 2006. Tarrance’s stepson, Dennis Kaufman, has spent eight years trying to prove that Tarrance was the Zodiac killer.

Gemma dating a Spanish stuntman from PoP Daily Mail

A source said: ‘Gemma has made no secret of her romance on the set. She and Eduardo are always kissing and cuddling. They are inseparable.’

I hope she'll find time to finish PoP!

h my gosh PG, as long as we're playing true confessions I also had a bit of a crush on Donny when I was too young to know better. :-D Then I developed better taste and moved on to David Cassidy.

Great News !!!

Bring on the JFC discussions... I can hardly wait. One episode at a time is a great format IMHO, we should be able to keep things narrowed down to each wonderful episode with the ensuing charm and confusion. Watching Austin and his brilliant portrayal of John is pure delight as far as I'm concerned.

Long live Austin fucking Fridays, the Prince & the Grey Goose, and OMG!

Doesn't Somebody Want to be Wanted like me.....Where are you???? Destiny, I'm not embarrassed to admit that I have Partridge Family Season 1 & 2. Remember the big controversy when David C. did that was it Rolling Stone? cover where he was nekkid? Shoot, that's nothing now compared to what we see, lol

Hey, ol' Donny O is still singing pretty good. He helped sing "Joseph & the Technicolor Dreamcoat" with 2 other guys on the Concert for Diana. He can still sing.

Oh I still admit to loving the Partridges, and I still like their music. One of these days I'm going to have to replace the records I got rid of when I thought I was too "grown up" for their music. Donnie was just a little too goodie two shoes for me, I like my boys to have a bit of a wild streak to them. :-)

prairiegirl said...

Yeah, there's something about a little bit of a "bad streak", isn't there?

You should see my Netflix queue. At the bottom of it is all these "Love American Style", "Here Come the Brides" and the "Doris Day Show" dvd's. Between those & all the Torchwood's, it could take me forever to clean it out!

I won't be around for the first JfC discussion but I will chime in later :)

I had almost forgotten the existence of the Cowsills, oh my dog indeed :D

Please keep the folks in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days. Hurricane Gustav is expected to strengthen to a Category 5 and a mandatory evacuation has been ordered.
