Devil's Food

Break off a big piece of that.....

Austin channeled a little bit of Big Julie from Guys and Dolls, half the bad guys in Sam Spade movies, and a little Jake (hello Toothpick!) for last night's episode. And he was a bad bad boy indeed. No doubt he loved every minute of playing a thug who was the muscle for Dan Scott. The episode was a dream of Lucas' so it's subconsciously how he sees Julian. A bad guy. Despite that, Lucas is working with Julian on bringing Ravens to the big screen.

Julian is the devil indeed. Will he shake things up between Peyton and Lucas? Will it be Peylian Nation? Is he gonna use Brooke to get Peyton back or just have some something something while he's in Tree Hill. Oh if he's truly the devil he would have Peyton, hook up with Brooke, and take Mili's V-card. And in true One Tree Hill over the top lunacy get them all pregnant.

He's got to be the devil, because something looking this good must be sinful.

Next week is the last new episode before the end of the year.

6.12 You Have Got to Be Kidding Me"
Lucas goes to Hollywood to meet his film director. Peyton's trying to get Mia to focus on her follow-up album, Haley takes a reluctant Jamie to his school's talent show and Nathan getting a chance for a pro-basketball try-out.
Brooke is shocked to find out that Samantha is in her room with a boy named Jack, Millicent confronts Mouth about Gigi. And Julian asks a skeptical Brooke about designing clothes for his movie.

Here's a sneak peek.

Now we know how Jake's gonna get fat and happy, a whole lot of devil's food (beef)cake.

I loved last's nite's OTH - loved the theme and Austin. I did notice "the toothpick" *wink* and the flash of the switchblade knife and the "hello, sugar" reminded me of The Joker! :P Loved the fedora and bad boy Austin! Loved all the characters, and the 40's, but I really am starting to like Brooke's character and to look forward to what she's doing, I loved that she gave her last dime to the homeless guy. And Nathan & Haley and getting married before he left for the war. Sigh. And of course, Luke's Rick and Peyton. And newpaper reporter Mouth, given a pair of cement shoes! Poor guy. Always good music too. Very fun show. :)

And thanks for one of my fave Elvis songs too!

I just cannot bring myself to watch OTH. Sorry Austin. Maybe your next project will do it for me.

Dear Ted:
Adore your column, retina-burning yellow and all. I've never written before, but finally now have a little stack of issues to address: First, Toothy Tile. Everyone knows who he is. Why are your lawyers making you stay so coy about it? You'd have a pretty damned strong defense in a libel/slander suit (you know, what with you telling the truth and all). Second, I'm really sorry about Prop 8. My mom is gay and although we don't live in California, she took it pretty hard. We'll get there eventually. You're a great role model and I hope you keep fighting the good fight. And third, I caught the Madonna concert in Denver this week. Good show, despite being 90 minutes late for no apparent reason. But I had to tell you—she had no fake accent. She sounded all American to me and my girlfriends. Interesting for her to dump the Brit husband, address and accent all at once, no?
—J-Dub

Dear Get It Off Your Chest:
Since M has rid herself of anything London, what’s she gonna pick up while with A-Rod? Let’s hope she doesn’t try baseball with the same chutzpah she did acting. And thanks for the kudos, babe!

Annoying that Ted didn't answer the TT part of the question.

Brooke is growing on me too netb. I love Sophia's voice, and really enjoyed seeing her play a bad girl last night too. The episode last night was definitely one of the better ones, probably because they weren't taking themselves too seriously.

Destiny, I do love Sophia's voice too. It was fun, last night's episode. :)

I am glad to hear Austin is doing
such a good job. I hate that I do
not have access to OTH. I guess
Reese and Jake will never say one
thing one way or the other. The
Hollywood Set does not discuss
their private lives! I get awful
tired of sitting at home so sometimes I go and walk some. I
will catch you on Thursday for some of these great recipes! For
myself, I just think it is such a
shame that people have to live a
lie to keep their career! I just
think it is ridiculous the way some of this stuff has been carried out. Catch you guys later
on in the week!!

Based on the formatting, I'm pretty sure the Anon comment at 11:53 is Kacie, so it stays. Hey Kacie! :)

Saw OTH last night afterall. I did not think my husband would sit still for it, but he loved the campiness and homage to casablanca. I did not tell him we were watching because of Austin and he did not recognize him either. My only criticism is there is still not enough Austin in it. Somebody give that man a leading role in a decent series.

Hear, hear! :) I wish I had been able to watch JFC. I only saw one episode, but I really like it.

destiny said...

We definitely need more Austin in OTH.

I know we're all pretty certain Jake's pr monitors all the fan sites, including this one (not to mention steals ideas from us). I nevre thought about it before, but I wonder if Austin's people do the same thing--or do they just get a report from Jake's people? :-D I would think they'd be looking around to see how he's going over on OTH--or maybe someone associated with OTH does that.

Oh I think UTA watches here for Austin stuff.

Yes, it was me at
11:53 a.m.
So sorry I
posted 2
times! I
saw the ET
interview.
Reese said
that she was not going to get married anytime soon. I
know that
Ted always said that
TT was gay
but at times I sort of think he is bisexual.
How are
you going
to group
the recipes on
Thursday?
Are you going to put them in groups or what?
Take care
and I will
catch you
later!

^^The one above at 4:34 p.m. AND
at 11:53 a.m. is me KACIE!! What
a day I have had with this computer!! Sorry for posting two
times and the above spacing!^^
Sometimes I think that one day that Austin may get fed up and just leave!! If Reese and Jake someday get married, PROMISE me
that you will not close down OMG.
I just wonder if Jake will take the occassional hunting trip to
Texas!! This is just some of my
silly humor. I wish Jake well
with whatever happens in his life.

I turned on OTH last nite but I really only saw glimpses of it. Austin looked great though (I'm loving that hat and his little grin). Sophia has a pretty good singing voice from what I heard. For some reason I just cant get into this show. It doesn't hold my attention. I'm with Wicked - I'll watch for his next project.

PG - the toothpick - well you're gonna have talk to Jake about that one cause he's the bad influence. ; )

Oh, I figured that as soon as I saw it. They do tend to mirror each other at times, don't they? But nonetheless, it is a safety hazard plus it also makes me think that person just left a steakhouse.
I don't know about where everyone else lives, but around here, when people leave steakhouses, alot of them come out with toothpicks doing their daily poke n prod. lol

What a crazy day, I'm with you on that one, Kacie. This day went so fast, it was like a jet flyin' over my head. zoom - gone. I knew that was you, Kacie! I'm glad Wicked saved you. If I'd've (triple contraction!!) had OMG up here, I would've vouched for ya, lol.
I gotta go. Going to go walk and breathe in the park air. Hey, I bought a digital camera. Soon as I figure out how to use it, I'm going to take some pictures of my park and put them up in my right-now-empty blog. I purged it not too long ago. Could be awhile before I figure out how to do that, tho, lol.

About the recipes. If you can give you tags to what they are: vegetarian, sugar-free, main dish, salad etc. that apply.

Once we get everyone to contribute the to us, we will put them all one page by categories and make a permanent recipe link on the side for people to click on.

Does that work for everyone?

^^Works for me.

I really do think that this run on OTH is chance to show Austin has what networks are looking for series lead. While JFC is at a total different level of writing and acting (and oh so good), it could be seen as a quirky Milch project, networks might want see if Austin can get the mainstream female viewers. The verdict - yes he can. Now go get him another show!!

destiny said...

That works for me recipe-wise.

This song is so perfect for Austin. I feel like I've never heard it before, which is a little hard to believe given how much Elvis I've heard in my lifetime.

Special K said...

I have been waiting and waiting to use this song for him. I've had in the back of my mind for ages.

prairiegirl said...

So, do we just put the recipe on here just like a normal comment, is that what you mean, Special?
That sounds fine to me, too.

Hey, guess what? I saw 2 deer tonight during my walk. I've seen them before several times out there, sometimes in the oddest of places. But this time it was like I was alone with them in the midst of nature. I oftentimes take a different route, one that at one point takes me through a wooded area and tonight, I was humming & moving along and you know how all of a sudden, a movement catches your eye. All of a sudden I realized that I was seeing 2 big does running across in front of me, a little ways off. I gasped and watched as the whites of their tails went boiinng boiiing boiiing! midst the browns of the leaves, the trees & twigs. Darn, if only I hadn't had my music going, I probably would've heard them running through the leaves. I called after them "Hi, little deer!" and they went boiiing boiiing a little ways more, but saw them stop after a little bit. They are so hard to see when it gets like this - everything is turning brown now. When you're not in a car, deer are so magical & majestic looking. It's so breathtaking to come across them; be so close; in their territory. I am a guest in their habitat - and caught them unawares. I wish I could get closer to them. They're so elusive. Sigh. It was such a charge to see them.

Course, hit one with your car and huh, they're not so magical anymore. At 15:30 on a Friday afternoon, riding home from work, on a 4 lane highway, in the midst of suburbia, a group of deer ran from the parking lot of an American Bandstand Restaurant in front of my car and I hit one of them doing 65 mph, knocking down my driver's rear side mirror and damaging the front of my car. I was the lead car in the pack and I am sure some people in back of me then hit some of them, too. That's when deer become a terror on the road, lol!

Gonna hit the hay now. I was wanting to nod off in class again. This class is interesting, but the people in it are very intelligent and I'm very intimidated. I can't ever get up the nerve to say anything and I often feel stupid for just sitting there like a bump on a log. I took it because my pastor is one of the teachers & I admire her so much, I was dying to take it so I could learn more from her. I almost wanted to cut it tonight but I paid $20 for it and that's not right to pay and not go to the class. Oh well, maybe next week, the opportunity will come up to say something.

Sweet dreams to everyone and looking forward to the warmth of my bed.

destiny said...

Wow PG, you're lucky you came out of that accident okay, that can be deadly. My aunt hit a deer once going much slower, and she's had neck problems ever since.

Special K said...

No way PG - I know where that is. That's off of Metcalf nothing but restaurants stores and office buildings. They must have run through to get over to the golf course or running from it.

You are really lucky you weren't hurt. Dest is right they can cause deadly accidents.

prairiegirl said...

Good morning - overslept! For some crazy reason, the night before I had turned off my alarm instead of turning off the radio, I think. Probably one of those subconcious intentional things, lol.

You're right, Special, that's where it was. I-435. That's right, there is a golf course to the north; I never thought about that. Yeah, 3:30 in the afternoon, I'll never forget it. They weren't all full fledged grown ones, though; I think a couple were smaller. The one I hit kind of went up over the side of my hood. I've heard of a couple of people get decapitated because sometimes they'll go right through your windshield and well, you know. Where I'm going this weekend, the Lake of the Ozarks, as you get closer to the lake, the roads get all curvy & tight, and they are surrounded by thick woods. So with it being November, the deer right now are all active, plus it's hunting season and so they're all over the place because they're nervous. So you have to keep a real eye out for them. We always are "seeing things" off the side of the road, thinking we've seen a deer and then Phew, it was just a mailbox, lol! We get paranoid.

Hey, didn't someone say on here that you could see Shelter on YouTube or some other website? That it wasn't a real good feed, but you could see it? Missed getting Shelter on my que (sp?) and I've been holding onto these 2 Heath Ledger movies, one of which I started but just couldn't finish. Two Hands, his first one. It starts out alright but then he gets into trouble with these thugs and I just couldn't bring myself to watch the rest. Was afraid he was going to get beat up or something. Has anyone seen that? Does he die at the end? My other one is Candy and I want to see it because he's in it, but I am not looking forward to seeing his character go down the tubes with drugs & all that. So I haven't watched it yet. Anyone seen that one? Does it have a sad ending? I like to know the endings of movies before I watch them so I know if I want to watch it or not. Only like happy endings.

Gotta go - everyone have a great day. Hump day and all that. One more day and then it's a big day of V!!!! woo hooo
