Gobble Gobble Gobble

Today in the U.S. we are celebrating Thanksgiving. a day to stop and spend time with family and friends, and yes , ok eat. A day to spend together, maybe eat more than we usually do, and indulge a little bit more and watch a lot of football and nap, but it's good to have days like that because everyone needs those. But there's one more thing we need to do more and we really don't do enough. It is to be thankful for all the things we do have. And that's one thing everyone can do wherever they are.

Thinking about a Thanksgiving awhile ago, one that happen a few weeks into filming on a five month shoot. There was a lot to be thankful for then, but they didn't have a clue much more they would have to be thankful for 7 years later.

Now the only way turkeys can really fly is by plane, but a Goose well they could but a plane might make it faster. Do you think someone has flown the coop and brought a little American Thanksgiving to England and reminisce about another Thanksgiving on a movie set ? But this time with a little gosling. (And no not named Ryan)

To everyone at OMG: Thank you for coming and becoming a part of this little place, without you would never be what is it a community of friends who are like family. Thanks again and Happy Thanksgiving.

Hey, Happy Thanksgiving! Happy Thursday to anyone who doesn't really celebrate Thanksgiving per se.

I'm very thankful for so much. We are all indeed a very blessed people.

And what would this day be without a little Michael K, who appreciates cranberry sauce in his very own special way. LOL! That guy is a killer.

Okay, I need to get a little motivated and get some stuff done. Just shufflin' around like I don't have 100 things to get done.

Just a thought. Wonder if Austin is still working on OTH this week, filmingwise, that is? Maybe he has the holiday off? Maybe he & BT have been swept up & carried off for a little turkey & stuffing?

Usually each episode of OTH is an 8 day shoot. For the current episode they were working on (6.14)they were scheduled 11/14-12/02 to do it. So it looks like they were off this week for the holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving, all! :* Hi Valentino and Joker, good to see you, hope we'll see you around!

I have always loved those little hand drawings of turkeys, so cute, and of course, Alice's Restaurant.

Nice to see Tom and Giselle dishing up Thanksgiving dinner at Goodwill Industries' annual Thanks-for-Giving meal today when I opened my paper. :)

Poor Potter will just wait silently until Tink is finished and see if there is anything left.

That is EXACTLY what he does! We will give him his leftovers separately tonight.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Hope you all have a great day. No comments from me today re Jake. I'm just going to enjoy the day. See you all tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving all. Among many other things, I'm thankful for Special's posts, Wicked's music and everyone who posts here.

As usual it's getting to be zero hour for guests to arrive and I could use another half hour at least to finish up and catch my breath.

Spesh, Michael K's Hot Slut of the Day (Canned Cranberry Sauce) was a riot - gah, I hate that stuff! I tried to read some of the comments but I just couldn't go on after a few. LOL Cheers!

Home full of turkey and stuffing and cranberries with ridges and pie and having nice long nap, and back watching more football (Patriots won - woo! and now Texas vs. Texas A&M). Good day, very good day .

Very nice day today. Clarity, congrats to you on filling in some of your blog profile! I enjoyed reading it.

The best part of today was talking to my little niece & nephew on the phone. They will be coming up tomorrow with their mom & dad so my Friday & part of Saturday will be sucked up like a vacuum, lol. I haven't seen them since summer; it's been very long this time. I've heard from my folks that they've grown. We're going to be scurrying to get Mom & Dad's tree up & ready for them to help decorate tomorrow night. My sister & I kind of started a small tradition on Thanksgiving or Christmas nights to take them around town while we play Christmas music in the car & look at Christmas lights on the houses. They love music, just like their dad. All of us kids inherited (can you inherit love for music?) a tremendous love of music from both of our folks, but mostly from mom, who from the time we were little, would always play 33 1/3 records of Burt Bacharach, Henry Mancini, Bert Kampert, and all kinds of other instrumentals on the recordplayer. I love to see these 2 have that same love for music.

Well, is anybody going to hit the sales tomorrow? I don't think I am; got too much to do and nothing really knocked my socks off in the ads. There were about 4 tents pitched outside of the Best Buy near my apartment this afternoon, people camping out. Tonight, there were even more, winding around the side of the building. What in the heck was in their ad that is so coveted? XBox's? Wii's? Games?

I am waiting for my pineapple to boil. While I do, I wanted to mention these great couple of lines from a movie I had on this morning. It was Guys & Dolls on TCM, with Marlon Brando & Frank Sinatra. I had never seen it and I wasn't really watching all of it, but I got the gist of it. But there was this scene where the mission girl (Jean Simmons as Sgt. Sarah Brown, a "good girl") who falls for Marlon Brando's character (he's kind of a bad seed at first) thinks he's done her wrong and so she gives him the heave ho, but she's already fallen for him. And her father is talking to her and what he says is so simple but it's so beautiful and so true.

Dad: And I never saw till now
how much in love with him you are.

Sgt. Sarah Brown: I'll get over it.

Dad: Why would anyone wanna get over
the thing you hope for from the minute you're born and remember till you die?

Sarah: I'll get over it.

Dad: Why?
Because it's the greatest reward
that woman or man can have,
to love and to be loved?

That conversation just caught my ears & my heart. So simple. But so profound. Wow.

Well, just wanted to say g'night & if anyone goes out to hit the sales tomorrow, put on the shoulder pads & go to it! lol

Sweet dreams!

PG

I may be up and outta here early early tomorrow to get a few things. Long standing tradition. My niece wants to get up and go, we will see if she can get up and out that early.

You know if I was out KS like I usually am for Thanksgiving, I would be in that crazy line at that Best Buy - and this year we would have had someone to call.

The lights are the one thing we did Thanksgiving nights, watch them turn on the County Club Plaza lights on TV, and then go out and drive around and look at all the house. We always have to go by the house with all the penguins.

Patriots winning? Who was I watching and what kind of food coma was I in yesterday. : )

Blind items: I guess....you guess....

When a film comes out, the stars usually share the promotional duties. In the case of this film, however, Star 1 has been making the rounds of talk shows, while Star 2 has been conspicuously absent. While Star 2 is claiming that his absence is due to other work obligations, the truth is that the friction between the two was so bad on the set that Star 2 has completely washed his hands of anything to do with the film. Star 1 remains publicly upbeat and supportive of Star 2, but has privately told friends that Star 2 is “the biggest asshole on the planet,” and that the two will never, ever work together again. (Blind Gossip)

Easy! Reese Witherspoon & Vince Vaugh.
