Somehow I can see a good Southern boy getting excited about movie called Damn Yankees. I wonder if he will help with rehearsals. You know he could handle being Mr. Applegate and Lola - you to help out for the cause. But you wonder if he would change the words to "Whatever Austy wants Austy gets..." And as for being Applegate - well Jake could just say the devil made him do it. Should call we just call him, Austin El Diablo?

Interesting discussion there at the end of yesterday's thread, ladies. You know, at first when I read it, I pretty much just took it at face value and thought how I could identify with that, yelling out into open, unrestricted space. It's very much a release and I expressed in my comment that I don't yell, but sing when I walk and when I know (or think, lol) that I'm quite alone where I'm at. And can be done to release all kinds of emotions, depending on what happened that day.
But now having read Destiny's comments, I had to rethink a little bit. And he did mention being in love as one of the things one could hollar about. But, yeah, could also be out of frustration. And heaven almighty, I can't imagine not being frustrated about some things when you're dealing with what he & Jake are dealing with. So, perhaps, he hollars about good and bad things in his life. That would be perfectly understandable. I think it sounds cool. I would love to try it sometime. I know it's absolutely exhilarating to sing at the top of my lungs out in the middle of the trees at my park. It's awesome to stare up at the clouds & blue sky, with arms outstretched & sing for all its worth. Ha! But the other day, I was doing it while walking backwards and heh, there was a lady coming the other direction with her greyhound. Dangit! Caught! That was embarrassing. I hate that.
And I'm not getting too intrigued yet about the possibility of Jake doing a musical. Only because I realize that there are more rumors in Hollywood than you can shake a stick at and alot of them never come to pass. Let me see the black ink on the dotted lines and pictures from the movie set and then I'll get excited. Hey, you know me. I used to live in the Show Me state of Missouri; guess that "show me" came along in the moving truck.
Hey, Destiny, I was reading on CNN.com where the Rocky Mountain News newspaper published its final edition today after 150 years, a victim of the economy and the internet, it said. Wow, after 150 years. One thing, tho, is that most newspapers should have a website, although that's not a moneymaker unless they sell enough advertising. I know I don't even get on the Kansas City Star website anymore because the first thing that happens when you open it up, is you get stupid ads coming up right in front of your face. Sure, it gives you the "x" to close, but I don't want it coming up to begin with. That's what's irritating about USA Today.com. They're horrible about ads on their website. USA Today got blocked by our corporate IT dept, lol. I tried to get on the other day and it said that the site was blocked due to "abuse". LOL!! snicker. Probably too many people getting on the sports page or something.
Well, time to wrap it up. It's Lent as well as Austin Friday, so gotta come up with a fish idea for dinner. I'm not Catholic anymore, but I still abstain from meat on Fridays. It's fun to see all the fish frys at area churches. There was a Catholic church in K.C. near where I used to live that served Wisconsin-style fried fish and that stuff was the best. It's fun to try different restaurants in search of Fish & Chips. Love fish & chips!!
Okay, well, enough about that! sigh. Time to cut it out and sign off.
Oh, and hey. 1st! lol, how annoying is that? Thank goodness that pretty much has died out like the stadium "wave". Where is everyone today?

Jakey Gyllenhaal will finally get the chance to sing and dance his little girl heart out in a big gay musical! My asshole is blowing rainbow-covered bubbles in anticipation! Variety says that Jakey and Jim Carrey in the big-screen version of the Broadway musical Damn Yankees for New Line.
In case you don't take it up the butt, let me fill you in on what Damn Yankees is about. You see, some fat old slob named Joe Boyd has always dreamed of playing for the Yankees. The devil appears and offers to make Boyd's baseball dreams come true in exchange for his soul. Boyd agrees and is transformed into the hunky piece of hot meat known as Joe Hardy, a slugger for the Yankees. Boyd loves his new life but misses sis hag of a wife Meg. He starts to have second thoughts about the whole thing. Boyd is able to break the contract before the end of the World Series, so the devil sends a hot slut named Lola to try and seduce him into keeping the deal.
Jim Carrey will play the devil and Jakey will shake his nalgas as Joe Hardy. Yes, Jakey wearing a jock strap in the middle of a locker room filled with naked dudes. This shit is one step closer to realizing your dream of Jakey starring a hardcore gay porn. Damn YANK ME!

I did see about the Rocky Mountain News, it really makes me sad to see newspapers closing. I have journalists in my family, and many many moons ago they briefly worked there. And newspapers are the one thing I still like to read on paper, hard to juggle the laptop while having my morning coffee.
Variety is a pretty reliable source, projects don't get announced there unless it's looking like a sure bet. In this case it means Jake and Jim are onboard, but it could still fall through if they don't have, and don't get, the money.

Are you giving up anything for Lent, PG? The Mrs. gave up sugary snacks and I decided to join her in that. I make one exception for licorice because licorice is an essential food to me! :) So far I am doing pretty good on everything else.
Our church (not Catholic either) ask not to give up something, but to do more for Lent. Put extra money aside for a lenten offering, volunteer for new projects or, help others in general, and concentrate on scripture and introspection.
I did have a friend who's husband really made a sacrifice for lent. He gave up music and the radio.

No, Wicked, I haven't given anything else up besides meat on Fridays, and even that's not a sacrifice. I love salmon, Schlotzsky's tuna sandwich, alot of white fish & Long John Silvers, lol.

Jake G Doing A Musical - I think the headline pretty much speaks for itself. Jake G is going to play the lead in the movie adaption of Damn Yankees. Jim Carrey will play the devil. It is the first musical for both, although Jim Carrey singing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang all the way through in Ace Ventura 2 comes close.

I just love Dlisted. He can always be relied on to get a huge laugh at Jake's expense. In many ways he is even harder on him than Ted.
I like the idea of this movie, but won't get excited about it until it actually starts to film. Too many movies never get farther than this step. They say they want to modernize the take on it. A gay angle would be really cool. With Austin as the vamp seducing Jake,of course we know he would not be able to resist.
Oh and yes, I do think Austin is quite comfortable, joyous even, with the OTH crowd and that there are shout outs.

Two days ago a stand-up comedian/tv-personality came out in Norway. Sturla berg johansen is 41 and charming. He said on the premiere of his own stand-up show, he`s gay. It was a big shock because he`s been with so many women, and was very popular with the ladies. "I tried hard", he said. "I tried very hard many times, but it didn`t work"
Sadly, so many people around the world tries too hard, even though they deep inside know it won`t work:(

Can`t quite understand why he`s that much of a fan of american idol. In the audience in two weeks a row..., is a little much, i think. Well, at least his boyfriend, David, thought it was enough with one. Looked like he was dying in pain ore something, so Neil had to go solo the next week.

He sees himself as an alcoholic and a drug-abuser, though he hasn`t used neither since year 2000. It`s because he sees himself that way, he can`t. So... he`s shocked us once time before. I just love people who are being honest, and he`s one of them(or so i believe...,(if i can link now too,(yeah?)).

Hey, guys, I forgot to mention earlier today that Jamie Foxx's video made "The Best Week Ever" on VH-1 this morning. Jake got first mention. I've not really been watching VH-1 in the mornings while getting ready for work because there's not any good music out right now that I like, so been watching my Partridge Family Season 3 dvd. But I may have to tune in VH-1 a bit; maybe I'll catch the video on there.
It was the Alaskan salmon sandwich at Celebrities Cafe tonight! Oh, man, that thing is excellent. Celebrities is just a hamburger/Philly Cheesesteak joint and instead of calling a number when your food is ready, they call a celebrity's name that is on your ticket. Tonight it was Vanna White. It's kinda funny.
Well, we'll see if/when the snow comes tomorrow. I'm supposed to dogsit Nikki (black lab) and Puddy (Australian shepherd) tomorrow night, but I'm sure it depends on where he & his band are supposed to play their gig and the weather. Weather may call it off.

Spain was grait, pg:) at least the weather..., unlike norway. Only snow, snow and snow:( SO TIRED OF SNOW.) The food is better in Norway, i think, muck more taste in it, at least it was very different from our hotel and home. I miss the sun, buit glad to be back to see family and friends:)
