Whisker Wars

It's Beard vs. Beard

Not that

This

Because it is looking Austin has upped his game under that helmet

Jake's  going for the natural beard category

Austin's got a little more control

On length you've got to give to Jake

On shape - it's a push

But on white whiskers

While Jake's got that patch that looks like he has a big of eggs left from breakfast or the Skunk Boy version of a beard  Austin has a little more white and more symmetry to his (when it's not Just for Men'd darkened)

Maybe we should just let the Austin Facial Hair Club decide who wins

or the guys could just ditch the beards for good.... and shave too.

 Happy Austin Friday!

Not so smooth Face Time

It's been all about Jake's beard for a while and in 20 days that wooly mammoth will be gone.

But before it goes how about some time for Austin's face fur at it's fullest.

Surface was when it was it's wooliest on screen.

And off screen, this one of the more recent pics- during ACL 2012.

While is not as Old Testament, Crazy Coot as Jake's you can see it has the potential.

Let's hope it never goes that way.

End over End

Jake's trip to England is more of a busman's holiday with him doing promotion for EoW to at least three outlets tomorrow.

Jake will chat with BBC Radio One's Nick Grimshaw Friday morning,  field questions on MSN UK later in the day and then his late couch time  with Graham Norton.

And it looks like the end of the End in terms of promotion for it's theatrical run too. And for those who missed it  End of Watch is coming out on Blu-Ray and DVD in the US on January 20th.

While Jake works his way out of 2012, 2013 will give him a little rest in Jan will soon ramp up in February as he goes back in front of the camera for Prisoners.

Then maybe Jake's beard will get a break.

All work and no play?

Bring Us a Shrubbery

It's a process, but it looks like it's

going
going

but will it be gone? (by November)

Why knock it down in stages?

It's like pruning shrubbery. You just don't hack at it because you end up trying to even one side with the other, and it get a bit hole where you don't want it.

First pass. Just gets the crazy brush out of the way.

Second pass. Getting the shape back into it.

Third pass. Finer detailing work. Putting down the electric clippers and get the shears.

Or it could be that badger of a beard had to be deconstructed for the safety of the clippers. How many clippers do think he burned out? : )

And we're walking, we're walking.
Jake has that confident determined walk with a carry-on down pat. You know he didn't even slow down when he walked on that 3 by 3 foot square of red carpet that American Airline throws down for their special frequent fliers.
Red Carpet .. over it.

.... the hair on your chinny chin chin..

Soft and smooth is lovely and amazing,

a little scruff is sexy....

a close cropped one can be cute, but...

but you're getting close to the crazy old coot
livin' alone in the jungle
or on an island
a little too long.

Birds could nest in it and
knights could ni about it

It could be on a cough drop box

or Zig Zag pack.

And you're way too handsome to hide under a bushel.

So unless you're a poet

a prophet

a pro-sleeper
or two dudes from Texas

Let your co-stars do it not you.

Meryl

Judy

Don't worry Conan will understand, you'll still smell as sweet to him.
