London Calling and Redialing Groundhog Day

Is Jake doing a Lonely Planet Tour of London? He was seen out yesterday in the city for a solo lunch and a wander down the walk.
Last night Jake joined Bear Grylls and his wife and TV Presenter Dermot O'Leary and his fiancee for dinner at The Wolseley.
No lonely lunch today: Jake was spotted out having lunch with UK celebrities, TV presenters Ant & Dec. Perhaps they invited Jake to lunch last night after being snapped at The Wolseley last night too.

And while it seems like Jake celebrates Groundhog Day more than just once a year.Could it be that seeing this shadow, is the sign of no more snow faux?

Can't have a Groundhog Day without a mention about Source Code. For the fact that relieving the same time over and over until you get it right, is right out of Bill Murray's hand book.

Now that Jake has time traveled three times, it is time to move on to changing characters. The word is that talk has resume over the remake of the movie Fletch with one of Murray's fellow Not Ready for Prime Time Players, Chevy Chase, and the article in The Hollywood Reporter mentions they are reimagining it. A Fletch remake has attracted interest in the past from Ben Affleck, Jason Lee, and Joshua Jackson. Jake has talked comedy and is one smooth talker... and Fletch is all that.

Harvey (Weinstein) tell Jake he gets to do the dream sequence playing for the Lakers, and you could get him for scale, or better he'd even pay you.

But Fletch was never so handsome as this:

Jake looks every inch the movie star on the cover of Vanity Fair.

Devastating handsome. Smoldering. Does anyone any other man in the shot come close to Jake? Ryan Reynolds might have nabbed People's Sexiest this year, but he got schooled standing next to Jake.

The photoshoot was probably done in Decemeber, but it must have been late December, after his birthday and the holidays, because Jake is sporting that new watch he has proudly shown off since getting it.

Sunday night at the SAG awards, Natalie called Jake “...he’s the Cary Grant of our generation. He’s so charismatic, and so dapper and smart. He’s wonderful.”

So if Jake is Cary, then Austin must be Randy. Well... he does love westerns.

Jake says that Source Code is like Groundhog Day in the beginning.

The otter must make the difference.


Asked about a sequel to PoP, Jake said there are no plans but he wouldn't mind spending 6 months in London and Morocco again. With Jake pretty much living on the East Coast since fall 2009 (hmmmm funny how that happen when Austin did too), sounds like living away from LA is not too tough.

Punxsutawney Phil came out of his hole and saw his shadow and as the legend here goes it means 6 more weeks of winter.

In Groundhog Day the movie, Bill Murray has to keep reliving Groundhog Day over and over again until he gets it right . As that's just what Jake will will be doing in Source Code.

Jake soldiers up again, this time on orders to investigate a terrorist bombing. To do so he takes part in an experimental governmental program as Colter.

Colter awakens on a passenger train in another man’s body with no idea how he got there. He starts to explore his surroundings and finds a bomb… which blows up, killing him and everyone else on board. End of story. Or is it?

There's no Sonny & Cher playing on a clock radio, but there is a similar result. A reset.

After the explosion Colter awakens in darkness, strapped down with a monitor in front of him. He discovers that he’s part of a mission to solve or even prevent the terrorist attack. Nothing else to go on Colter is sent back to the train seventeen minutes before the explosion. He gets sent back again and again, always for seventeen minutes, each time bringing him closer to the answers and to a truth about himself.

Vera Farmiga, who received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress, this morning for her role in "Up in the Air",is a communications officer who controls Colter during the experiment from a control room.

Michelle Monaghan plays a victim of the train bombing and the love interest of the man who's body Jake inhabits. Just days ago, an article about Source Code using Ottawa's train station as the train station for the movie mentions that Ben Kingsley might rejoin with Jake as part of the cast but how remains to be seen.

Source Code is a sci-fi thriller that's part Deja Vu, Groundhog's Day, 24, maybe I dare say Sliding Doors and video game. While it looks like it's all, it's deceptively more about the characters, and how the smallest things about them can change the course of reality

And just like Bill, Jake will do it over and over again until he gets it right but without an angry driving groundhog.

Source Code starts filming in Montreal the middle of next month.
