Steel Cage Jake Match

Let's get ready to ruuuuuummmmmmmmbbbbbble........

It's The Informers vs. Mysteries of Pittsburgh

Both written by literary heavy hitters

Both set in 80's

Both have colorful characters

Both have actors with rocky pasts

Both have disjointed narratives

Both have bisexual relationship

Both have a wild blonde

Both have a threesome

Both have Jon Foster

Both open in April
(The Informers (April 24) - The Mysteries of Pittsburgh (April 11)

Both have gotten mixed reviews

Both star co-stars and people very close to Jake

Oh my! Check out the newest pictures of Austin in The Informers over at Spooky's
The Man in Black - I am without words.

Sweet Ending:

Maggie Gyllenhaal thinks if brother Jake's acting thing doesn't work out, he could be a chef. "Jake makes a mean chocolate zucchini bread." Cindy Adams - yesterday's column in the NY Post. And here's today with an "interview"with Peter.

Here's one to try:

Chocolate Zucchini Bread:

1 1/2 cups shredded raw zucchini (about 1/2 pound or 227 grams)

1 cup (140 grams) all-purpose flour

1/2 cup (45 grams) unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted (not Dutch-processed)

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

1/2 cup (120 ml) safflower or canola oil

1/2 cup (100 grams) granulated white sugar

1/2 cup (105 grams) light brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

3/4 cup (125 grams) semi sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) and place rack in the center of the oven. Grease (or spray with a nonstick vegetable spray) a 9 x 5 x 3 inch (23 x 13 x 8 cm) loaf pan. Set aside.

Grate the zucchini, using a medium sized grater. Set aside.

In a large bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and ground allspice. Set aside.

In the bowl of your electric mixer (or with a hand mixer), beat the oil, sugars, eggs, and vanilla extract until well blended (about 2 minutes). Fold in the grated zucchini. Add the flour mixture, beating just until combined. Then fold in the chocolate chips. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and bake until the bread has risen and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 55 to 65 minutes. Place on a wire rack to cool for about 10 minutes, then remove the bread from the pan and cool completely.

Makes one - 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf.

Please excuse my forgetfulness:

To all of those gathering and celebrating

Here We Have a Story for the World
Here we have the story for the world,
A tale of justice served and freedom won,
Principles of goodness, universal,
Printed out on stone by God's own hand.
Yes, the past was bloody, and the old
Promise was by faithlessness undone.
And wonders ceased, memories turned brittle,
Shadows fell, and love turned into land.
Still, the story breathes the air of words
Old and new, a tale not writ in stone,
Vast as the hard history of a people
Ever changing, ever one, a grand
Recital running through time's glass like sand.
- Nicholas Gordon

Happy Passover!

Hollywood PrivacyWatch: Jake Gyllenhaal Stars In 'The Gay German Shepherd'

Sunday at the dog park. My dog starts playing with a cute German shepherd that proceeds to hump him, without benefit of formal introduction or dinner. The owner and I intervene to restore civility and suddenly I'm confronted with sapphire blue orbs. Who else but Jake Gyllenhaal. Very sweet, drop dead hot, and very apologetic- although none was necessary. Our dogs just lived out my fantasy, by proxy. I say "WOOF".

ITA, also our pretend power couple get about 1/4 of those JJared comments from people who don't make sense or spewing political crap.

I'm not expecting The Informers to do much in the box office, but the deluge of hot Austin pictures is worth it's weight in gold.

For the life of me I don't know how some people come up with their guesses re Toothy or Grey Goose. They are so far of left field I'm not even sure why Ted posts them.

Thanks for showing the Laker's lean photo again. One of my favorites. Jake is never as happy as when pressed up against his man.

The chocolate zucchini bread sound delish, will have to try making it, and great Austin pics. I want to check out both of these films.

destiny said...

I must have been reading your mind this morning Special because I was just thinking about these two films and all the coincidences while I was walking to work. That interview with Peter is very funny, he's usually not so bad at them. I wonder if it has to do with what he thinks about the film?

I really have my fears about Mysteries; I love that book, and I am afraid they have ruined it by rolling two of the male characters into one and playing up the story involving Sienna Miller's character, which is not that large in the book.

And those photos of Austin from the movie--OMG!

M, sometimes I think Ted answers letter like that to make other points. In this case, that Cooper is gay, as the only difference he notes is their ages. I also wonder if he's trying to make any kind of connection between Austin and Anderson's glass closet.

Just don't know what to think of the hair cut and the blond color .

Thanks for the recipe,I am glad Jake loves cooking, I would do anything to see him in a kitchen.

Know nothing about Mysteries of Pittsburg! But Peter is sexy in the first pic! So much hot guys today , we are lucky here at OMG
Thanks thanks thanks!!

I totally disagree with you FFL on the last thread. People here have different opinions. And just because a poster will not jump on the daily bithching about Jake band wagon does not mean we are trolls. I follow my own path. There are many post here that I do not agree with, but I do respect most. I'm sorry, but I'm not one to follow anyone that I don't have any respect for and that includes any actor or Jake. I just know that these things (bearding) happen often in show business and when the person is ready to change and stop, more power to them. Complaining about Jake and his (beading) won't change a thing. And since I'm not God or All knowing and know exactly what's happening in Jake's life, I will leave it at that. Plenty of complaing over acusations and assumption from some. Then the disgustful comments. Why bother? Apparently You and some who have witnessed the signing of the bearding contract do know what's going on in Jake's mind and out of the pap pictures.

Toothy said...

I'm curious Toothy's Dentist, if you don't have any respect for Jake and don't follow him, why do you care what people say about him? Why do you come here? Why do you never write a post that goes "I think...." rather than "I disagree with _____ (fill in the blank with the name of a regular poster) or ___________is bad for hating on Jake?

The driver who killed the 22 year old baseball pitcher and also a 22 year old college cheerleader girl, was drunk and driving w/o a license becuase he had prior DUIs. This is another reason why Jake, and all of us, need to live honest lives, we never know what might happen.

I wonder if Austin will be at jury duty today or if he's finished.

My comment of I do not follow anyone that I do not have any respect for, even actors, which Jake is, did not mean that I do not have any respect for Jake.
It was for the posters who constantly complain about Jake and what they assume and accuse him of doing, although it may be true, or False. Those posters sound very disgusted with Jake and everything about him. So my line of questioning meant, if you can't find any good in a person that you supposedly like or are a fan of, then why are you still a fan or here. I'm not disgusted or disappointed with him. I can except him as a celebrity and actor that I do like regardless of his personal life. I may not agree with some of his decisions, but it's his life. Mine is interesting and busy enough. I don't believe everything written and interpreted about him as the truth, pro Toothy or pro Reeke. I have to take alot of things said about him as a grain of salt.

My belief is that he is not totally straight or straight at all. So What.
You read my comment wrong.

This blog is strictly for entertainment purposes. Its writers make no serious claims about the sexuality of either Jake Gyllenhaal or Austin Nichols.

We also complain, accuse, get disgusted, so what. That's life.

Toothy Dentist: if you can't find any good in a person that you supposedly like or are a fan of, then why are you still a fan or here.

Maybe you should read all the posts people make. No one here, especially regulars like Destiny or flf, don't dislike everything in Jake. Stop making "all or nothing" accusations. I think most of us here are mature enough to know what you're implying is unrealistic. Grow up.

I call it like I see it. No, maybe you should read most of her post. I notice you used the word "most". And, I'm not attacking her. She seems to be a big girl and able to speak for herself. I consider my question a valid one.
No need to get upset.

I can agree to disagree, maybe you can't, but that's not my problem. And you're telling me to grow up?

He answered to the role call of Nicholas Austin, as there was a Nicholas Austin in the jury pool as well. Then the juror coordinator had to figure out with him and all of us that there was an Austin Nichols and Nicholas Austin amongst us, so that is what prompted me to turn down my Ipod. He looked hella tired (aka rolled out of bed or front lawn or bar stool)and had ripped up inside out clothing on, which btw I am told he may not even own any clothing without rips in it. Don't blame the messenger, I'm just calling it like I see it.

Happy Passover everyone. Vacation is over and headed back to colder temps tomorrow. I have decided to take another week off from work though. I need a week at home to just chill. Tough busy year so far.

Toothys Dentist I have said for myself many times I dont consider OMG a Jake fansite. For me the site has to do with Jake and Austins relationship and my belief that Jake is gay. I dont approve of the bearding and I strongly suspect that is what he is doing. It is Homophobic.

destiny said...

Have a great weekend Meg, I have to say I'm jealous about the countryside, lambs and good ale (flowers I have). And I for one celebrate all the holidays this week, but mostly because I'm joining friends, not because I have any real beliefs of my own.

That jury sighting sure is strange, I don't know what to make of it, but we all know for a fact Austin does have clothes without rips in them.

i agree with Jersey Tom. this site is devoted (it seems to me) to free discussion of the aspects of Jake's life that many other sites won't allow: his sexual orientation, his lovers, his beards, and things in general about his life that are of interest to us. i think that if a person isn't amenable to that sort of discussion, they should go to other, more white-washed boards, where they can talk only about how hot he is and how cute he and reese are and how they are so obviously perfectly in love, etc. there are folks who believe that and enjoy talking about it. those conversations make me crazy, which is why i love this place. we can love Jake without loving the crap he's pulling with his life right now. S!

Austin said...

That morning when I left for jury duty Jake was sobbing, holding on to me and clawing at my shirt, begging me to stay so he wouldn't have to go on another pr run with the leech. It took all my mental and physical strength to get out the door, those jury people musta thought I was in a barfight or something.

m said...

So I was right, he did roll out of bed, then put on the clothes Jake tore off of him the night before. After seeing those Informer pics, I can see why Jake would have hastily ripped Austin's entire wardbrobe during the period when he was sporting those blond locks.

Sienna, you said your piece very, very well. Couldn't have put it any better.

Hey, we're all family here, you all know that. Some of us (namely uh, me) spout off at times and some of us even have a little verbal exchange at times, but at the end of the day, well, maybe the next day sometimes, we're all still friends & family. This isn't life & death, thank heavens. And I think most of us realize that. And bein's as we are family, I have to stick up for my very special friend, Special. Anyone who's a regular around here knows that Atticus is a fairly regular poster, as well. So, last night was just a good bout of fun. No harm whatsoever; it's nice that poor Atticus got to come out with the common folk, I think. Excuse me, with the really beautiful people. lol.
So we're all good & fine on that front. Now, if we could just resurrect Boo......too bad the Easter bunny doesn't take wishes & requests. I'd be asking for Boo in a heartbeat. Wouldn't you like to see your lil' bro, Atticus???

And I have been absent-eo today. It's been one hectic day. I have wanted to get on here really bad about 2-3 times, but I know myself & I knew I couldn't get it typed out in time.

LOLLL! 40 mph gusts I walked in today. Whew! It was crazy. Practically had my park to myself and it's no wonder. Who else would be insane enough to walk in that. Forget that walking stick! I left it in the car - probably pierce myself with it the way that wind was blowing.

Special, I just wrote you a big ol' honkin'email. I had to cut myself off, lol.

We had a terrible day at work today, everyone stressed, not enough dropped trailers to load, loaders not wanting to stay OT to finish the work, doors falling off of trailers & laying in the middle of the lot, just not too Smurfy at all. It's a good thing we are given Good Friday off. Saw the folks at lunch hour today; Mom was putting together Easter sacks for the kids, who are coming up tomorrow evening with my sister in law. My brother has to stay behind & work.

So my weekend will be sucked up by the kids. My folks got a Wii and my nephew has just been dying to get on it. We'll probably not see him all weekend, actually. He'll be glued to that thing. Naw, he can't. It's his sister's 9th birthday so that means cake!!
Wooohooo! I'm telling you, I'm dying for some cake, myself. It's been awhile.

Well, hopefully things have calmed down around here now. I did spout off a good one last night. I did mean what I said, although maybe the Jessica Fletcher headshake thing was just a wee bit overboard. So I'll take back the Jessica Fletcher headshake. But, that's just business.
Still love the boys. Was just a little hacked last night.

Hey, Meg, good to see you. I hope you have a great time in what sounds like the scenic, quiet countryside.
And flf, I didn't know you were a student. What are you studying?? We haven't seen too much of you lately. Are you having finals?

Orchid!! Orchid, what's going on? I've missed seeing you. Usually we see you a little more often; got me kinda worried about you. I hope all is okay. If you're still popping in, can you say "Cheese as you Please" and let us know you're doing alright.

Okay, well don't know where that Cheese as You Please came from. I blame it on the chili. We have been eating out of this big pot of chili for what seems like forever and tonight I said that was definitely the last time I was having it. Whatever is left is going down the disposal, lolll. Enough already, geez.

Alright, everyone have a good evening. Be prepared - I may be a little chatty tomorrow, in between my Easter basket shopping, laundry & walk.

Blind Vice: Judas Jerks It Again!

Ever since Judas Jack-Off made his smarmy debut, I do think it’s fair to say Toothy Tile’s been breathing a tad easier. Of course, Toothy went so far back into the proverbial closet, I think the only heavy panting T.T. ever does anymore is when he and the GF moon over Pottery Barn chenille throws together. Back to Jack-Off: The dog’s still trying to finagle the old BF into sex again—and I think he’s damn close to succeeding.

After all, Judas is impossibly sexy (some say too much so, but I think of beauty like Kate Bosworth does thinness, never can have too much of that stuff!). He’s hard to resist. Especially when he’s lying to the ditched boyfriend and telling him they can still go off and get married like they'd originally planned, only he just has to “hang out” a little bit longer with the fake girlfriend his management set him up with.

Look, you cretin publicity whore with killer dimples (I mean the ones on your rock-hard ass, not your innocent little face), you’re screwing with the feelings of a man who loves you. This ain’t no Rock Hudson movie. It’s real life. And unless you want some pathetic kind of lying, lonely ending like Hudson himself got, quit effing with people’s lives, starting with your own.

Interesting TR.

Great catch Evidence on the sweatshirt. Maybe Austin holds on to old favorites until they fall apart.

That article on faith groups sort of indirectly touched on something I always think about when people talk about homosexuality, and that is race. Just substitute the word black or hispanic in any of those examples, and then ask if it is still okay. Plenty of religious organizations used to feel that way about people of color too. People shouldn't go into certain lines of work if they can't treat everyone the same, particularly the health field (although I can't imagine wanting to see a counselor who couldn't deal with gay people).

And religious organizations don't have to take government money either, which is what some of these cases turn on.
