It's a Smaller World (part 1)

They say that everyone is seperated by 6 degrees. But sometimes in Hollywood its even less.

How about this:

Jake co-starred with friend Selma Blair in Highway, who

dated Jason Schartzman

when he was in the band Phantom Planet

with Alex Greenwald who was in Donnie Darko with Jake

who co-starred with Austin in The Day After Tomorrow

who used to be engaged Claire Oswalt

who dated Jason who co-starred with Kirsten in Marie Antoinette

who worked with Austin in Wimbledon

and dated Jake

and who well..... you know

Awww, I love seeing pics of Jake and Kiki, they really seemed to have something going, and of Jake and Austin. I don't have a problem with people making out in public, it's beautiful, if it's real. I'd be surprised if anyone in the City of Love did either. I never did see Kiki in Marie Antoinette, she looks beautiful in period costume. :)

I personally don't have a problem with people discussing Heath in any way - let people talk about whatever they want, we don't have to agree. I think it keeps Heath's beautiful memory alive, I'd hesitate calling it obsession myself, since I've been following J&A for almost, what, 4 years now?

I thought J&K had some really cute pics together too. They looked real.

OK: here's what i don't get. Ya'll have probably talked about this a million times but i'm knew and i'd like to hear what other folks think.

For over a year, J&R denied dating. Vehemently. Finally they quit that, but they've never actually acknowledged a romance. Then all the engagement rumors started, and after a while they actually issued PR saying they were NOT getting married. Months go by, rumors fly, and then Reese has her big cover spread on US where she announces loud and clear that she is NOT interested in getting married any time soon. She refuses to acknowledge him in any but the most generic of ways in any interview she does.

SO who, other than the mags and paps, has ever even said that they're even dating, much less on the verge of marriage?? They are getting all this mileage out of hanging out wihtout having to do a thing but drink coffee and shop, and dry kiss once every few weeks for the cameras.

My theory is that way back when they were filming R and ryan did the big nasty and basically cuckolded Reese, she needed a shoulder to cry on, and who better than a nice platonic guy who wouldn't try to get in her pants. Jake, at the same time, was dealing with all the nasty gay rumors that had to be affecting his role possibilities. (the guys at my work laughed when they heard he might play joe namath because they all think he's gay, and that isn't my fault)

So they've really saved themselves both a lot of aggravation. Reese has rebounded with the hottest guy in town - take that, Ryan - and Jake is obviously in love and not hankering for boy booty!

Win/Win. And all they have to do is show up and drink coffee. And look dorky. :)

Sorry for the long ramble, but i'm full of words about this and had to get some out or i'd pop. :)

Reese's marriage was just a pretense long before divorce - she needed Ryan for her Oscar PR campaign.

Jake and Reese didn't film Rendition together (those photos are from Rendition costume fitting).
Rendition filming and tabloid Reeke stories started few weeks after her divorce was announced - Reese's PR didn't waste any time.

I love Six Degrees of Separation games, and this is a really good one. I like the way you've worked in people who are not so obviously connected.

SiennaB, I think that's the way it kind of started out, but I think they've taken it well beyond the point where they can say it's just the tabloids making things up. I'm sure there are other examples, but one of the clearest ones to me is the whole Reeke Tour de France last summer, where pr clearly had a hand in the US story, which had to have been written before Bastile Day, and then rushed the photos to the magazine right before the publication deadline. That one also has the added "bonus" of using Reese's children and pushing them all as a family, which I find utterly disgusting on many levels.

limbo said...

I think Reeke is so fake and PR manufactured that it’s scary. The worst part is that it makes Jake looks asexual, not straight. I wish Jake would be confident enough to stop this charade. He turned into such a bland manufactured PR product. All his personality is gone. He doesn’t need to come out if he can’t in homophobic Hollywood, but he should stop bearding and just be himself. Make a career out of working in movies and not in magazines.

SiennaB! said...

yes, destiny, i agree that they've definitely decided to make use of the situation to their full advantage. the one thing i don't totally agree about is the kid issue. J isn't a monster - i think he's probably a pretty decent guy to have around the kids, and it's very possible that the kids know he isn't their next daddy, that he's just mom's good friend. i'm sure - at the level they live at - they never go anywhere significant without at least a helper or two, so having him added to the entourage isn't that big a deal to them.

if they're just using the kids to make it look like the perfect family, then yes, that's sucks. but if they're just making the most out of what they have to do anyway - taking trips, bringing along the kids so they can have some fun - then i don't really see an issue with that. :)

SiennaB! said...

Limbo: I made a post about what i've thought for a long time, and i think it's a bit naive compared to what most folks here think. I still like to think it's a possibility - 2 acquaintances/ friends using a situation to their advantage, but after reading the opinions here, i'm very torn. I want to think the best, because i want to hang on to my feelings about jake (don't care much for her). I find myself agreeing more and more with what you said, however. He's gone from being the cute, interesting guy who was fun to watch, to a cardboard cut-out of a Jake Picture, and Reese just carries him around and puts him wherever she wants to make herself look good. Blech. And my Pollyanna is showing. Scuse me! :)

reeking said...

Kids had their nanny and mother and bodyguard during those Reeke promoting trips, I don't think they ever paid much attention to Jake and vice versa.

destiny said...

Just to clarify, I think pr has been involved from the very beginning, so I was just talking about the change from the early stages. The only question I have is whether the shift in strategy was planned from the very beginning, i.e., a gradual roll out of Reeke, or if it changed because not enough people were buying it.

What the kids did on the trip is immaterial. It's using them to sell Jake as their stepfather and as straight that is wrong. I'm divided on the subject of Baby Tile, but if there is one, this is doubly wrong. And what exactly does Reese tell Ava about the whole thing? Does she lie and say Jake is a boyfriend? Tell her people are just making things up about "Uncle Jake"?

I guess those poor kids are back with Reese now that Ryan is filming in South Africa. The movie he's making sounds interesting. And M, did you see Taylor Kitch is in it? I'm happy to see him doing something besides Wolverine.

charybdis said...

Sienna,

Reeke started just as PR-planted stories in the tabloids, with no photo ops and certainly no confirmation by the principals in interviews. Even though I didn't like this, I thought it was a clever move -- it created positive romance buzz about Reese (to counter the divorce negative press) and gave a straw for the "Jake must be straight or my head will explode" crowd to grasp; and it didn't require any actual effort from Jake or Reese. At some point (I could go back and check, but I really don't care to) someone decided that virtual bearding wasn't doing the job, and that Reeke needed to go do photo ops and joint trips, and otherwise invest some effort to make things more believable. We're still in the middle of that phase of things (I still don't know what to make of their allowing a photo op of Jake and Austin...).

I don't think that it's terrible for Reese to "expose" her kids to Jake. I'm sure they've been introduced to him as a friend of hers, and probably are told something like "OK, today Mommy and Mr. Gyllenhaal are going to be out doing some work; you all will be coming along so you have to be on extra good behavior." when they go out for a photo op.

Oh, and yes, Reese and Ryan had been over for a while before they divorced.

I do agree with lots of you who think that the fauxmance is sapping Jake of his charm. But I don't see an end in sight.

Okay, I can only get on here for a few minutes or so. I'll see how fast I can be.

Austinite, I LOVED Heath. I'm not going to re-post everything I said over there the other night because I'm done with it. But I wanted to clarify & correct on what you said. I don't have a problem either with discussing Heath. Ask anyone here at OMG; good gosh, I've slobbered & swooned over that guy plenty of times. I don't have a problem with people wondering if anything ever went on between him & Jake for real. I wonder myself. What keeps annoying the heck out of me is someone repeatedly insisting that Austin is inferior & "not good enough". That Heath was far superior as a person. I'm not even going to go into all the logistics & possibilities. That's totally beside the point.
I don't care what people discuss. I'm all for keeping memories alive of the guy. And with that, I'm done with it. It's an endless, circular discussion & goes nowhere.
I find my bp rising already just thinking about it all.

Hey, that picture of Jake & Kirsten is cute. I've not seen that before. I don't know, though, Special. I think I can just picture PR blowing that picture up into a big poster, putting it up on a display easel, then sitting Reeke down in front of it, with a big laser pointer. Okay, you 2. Now this is what we want. Think you can manage it?

The best those 2 have ever gotten to being this entwined is them entertwining their fingers when they hold hands. If you look at all the earlier pictures of Reeke, notice how their hands were always clasped handshake-style. For a long time they were like that. Then somewhere along the way, they must've had coaching by a Body Language Expert because now they make it a point to entertwine the fingers. Undoubtedly, it's to be the key ingredient to clue everyone in on the idea that they're for real.

reeking said...

PG,

you are so right about hands holding coach. LOL

And the best part? Reeke don't need to talk, don't need to look at each other nor pretend not to be bored - and they still look like a "couple".

prairiegirl said...

Sorry - I'm feeling a little snarky today, so I'll make it short before exiting out.

Everyone knows my ideas & thoughts on the involvement of Reese's kids; I won't go there today. I'd love to spill my observations up to this point, but I am withholding til it plays out more. We'll see soon enough then.

I am thankful for a couple of things, though, as I don't want to focus on the negative. There's some good things going on. Jake is looking great. He's got the enviable blessing of looking 5 yrs younger than he is. I've got the solo biking pic right now on my laptop @ home for my desktop and those biking shorts are a great thing to see in the mornings, lol. He looks awesome. And we've got solo pictures plus the return to mostly solo Jake since that European fiasco. What does that say, anyway? We had solo Jake for quite awhile before Europe; he has to jet over there for that blitzkrieg and then comes back and we've got solo Jake again.

For right now, I'm thankful for that.

Okay, I've got to go. On the homestretch now. Oh, wait, I need to call out to a couple of people.

Lane! NETB! What's going on? NETB, when I go visit Special, we are going to need to hook up & meet. Don't ya think??

Good evening everyone

Indeed planet Hollywood seems really small lol

Clair Oswalt was Austin's girlfriend???? She looks like so much older compared to him , oh well she is pretty nontheless lol.

Kiki is a pretty girl too and she and Jake were too cute for words I have to admit! Maybe my second favorite couple behind Jaustin of course lol. Great good old time like you often say.

I see Reese and Jake take a lot of place in discussions what's couldn't be otherwise, it's true I never gave an real opinion on this subject but I have a good reason : I ignore it lol ( or at least I try) I have no anger against her or him , no negative thoughts on mind so I remain relax and Zen and can concentrate myself on what's really matter : Austin will always be there for Jake and Jake for Austin too, whatever what life can bring.

Completely out of subject but I am listening a classical masterpiece called " Spartacus" composed by the great composer Khachaturian.
The first part of this piece is so beautiful , romantic and tragic in same time and souds a bit oriental.
For POP it would be perfect lol

Ok it's fanfic time now, ideal to make beautiful dreams .

Sex 2 opening on the same day is likely to cut into the female audience that PoP will need to be a blockbuster. And with Reeke not winning Jake any new fans, that could be a problem.

I don't see Reeke ending anytime soon, and I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't dialed up if PoP looks like it is in trouble in any way.

As it is there's an US Reekely sigting of Jake sharing edamame with Deacon (no mention of Reese). I'm sure we're all supposed to read this as evidence that Jake is living with them and very much involved in Ava and Deacon's life apart from being the boyfriend.

And unless Ted has new evidence, he's just being a twittering tease.

What the fuck? You think confronting homophobia is "not important"? I'm a gay man, and frankly I am SICK of people just turning a blind eye to things like SiennaB described and I just wanted to know whether she said anything to those guys or not.

Which leads me to believe the # is intentional. Maybe he added the # to Rob a few times so it doesn't look obvious or maybe there's a link (blind item?) between TT, Rob and Reese that we don't know about yet?

Don't be part of the problem:
For brevity, I actually didn't do an accurate job of describing what happened at my work. However, since that's the part that caught your eye, i'll expound. Everyone i work with knows much about me knows that i'm a big jake fan and they all know that i write bbm fanfic. i work at a large air traffic control facility and the work force is rufly 90% men. It's taken a while for them to get their heads wrapped around what i do, but they've never been ugly to me about it and several of them have read some of my work.

What actually happened was: a friend came in and told me he'd heard on a sports show (not sure if it was radio or tv) that Jake was being considered for JN, but the broadcasters were making fun because he'd played the gay role in BBM, etc, and they didn't think he was appropriate for this role. My friend was just conveying the story - no feelings about it either way - but the broadcasters were not liking the idea of JG as JN.

And that's how it all happened, probably over a year ago now. :)

It is interesting that one of the places Ted is following on Twitter is hashtags

And over there it explains what it means.

Hashtags was designed to accommodate the real-time news community. We provide analytic reports and indexing features to allow users to track what's happening now.

Hashtags are a community-driven convention for adding additional context and metadata to your tweets. They're like tags on Flickr, only added inline to your post. You create a hashtag simply by prefixing a word with a hash symbol: #hashtag.

Don't be part of the problem, read over posts at this site and you'll find out PLENTY of comments like the one the guys made at SiennaB 's work. Maybe you should bring this up more often here. Just because it is a 'supposedly' gay friendly gal making those comments does not make it any better. This is the one and main problem I have with posters here. SATC1 was rated R so SATC2 will probably also be R too. POP is going for PG-13 I imagine. R rated movies do better than PGs. There's also the possibility that POP will have the same or bigger box office sales than SATC2 but because of the under age girls who buy the POP PG-13 ticket so they can sneak into the SATC2 R movie.

I explained more about the details of that exchange. i didn't realize anyone would even be interested in that and didn't do a good job of explaining what happened. as for the men i work with - they are like everyone else. they have good points and bad. i live in the south, and unfortunately we aren't known for embracing new ideas. however, i feel like maybe my interest in bbm, my writing and talking to them about it possibly helped open their minds to the fact that gay does not equal freak. if that language offends you, i apologize, but that is the world I live in and i'm honest. we only have one gay and one lesbian who are out here. we had one other gay in our area who recently moved. i'm sorry to say that he got a lot of teasing, and he told me that memphis was not a gay friendly town. personally, i hate memphis - it's very small-minded. i hope to move as soon as i retire.

however, reeke aside, i can't drum up any real interest in any of the movies he's made since BBM. Zodiac was ok. I skipped Rendition because of the torture stuff, and reeke. Brothers sounds depressing. Nailed... blah. POP? Just not my thing at all.

so not only is the competition fierce for opening week, but realistically, who is the target audience for this movie? tweens maybe?

All the gamers I know, and, thanks to a 15 year old son, that's quite a number of thumb flicking, blankly staring, hunched shouldered kids, have no interest whatsoever in seeing PoP.

Now, Wolverine, yes, because it's based on something that in its original form is a closed off story. X-Men has always been a watch/read only, they had no control over the story, (unless they're playing the game, which most are lameass* anyway)

The PoP they know, that fantasy world, is mutable, THEY can change what they see and experience, they are an active participant in the experience with the game. In a movie, what ever the film maker's vision, that's all there is. Not what a gamer is looking for.

That generation lives for FPS (first person shooter) and hit points and magical charms and creating characters and the visceral action of doing. Sitting in a theater just watching, uhm, not so much.

If you look over Jake's career, you have say, he is a great actor. He's had some stuff that hasn't had the best box office, but his performances have always been more than solid. I think he's weakest was Proof but even that is above a lot of other people in HW. I think sometimes you don't realize how good it was until you see it again and they you look at something like Lovely & Amazing (an overlooked one) and say you know, he's good.

At first I wasn't so sure about Nailed, but now I'm interested in seeing it; I Heart Huckabees and 3 Kings really appealed to me, but for some reason I didn't get around to seeing them. Clarity... I will admit i am probably the most naive adult you know. If you show me a video of someone being harrassed/stalked by a pap, i believe it. However, you're right... it's 1000+ pictures later, and the pictures are about as predictable as US weekly stories. They shop and drink coffee constantly, strolling the streets like no one would possibly notice them, and then they get all spazzed out when the paps want their picture. I've finally noticed that we never see them doing other things, like lugging out bags of stuff from Costco or buying gas or hitting the drive-thru like we see of the other celebs. We are fed a very steady and regulated diet of Coffee runs, fancy shops and occasionally some exercise. So while i used to believe that i was seeing random stuff, now i have to admit it's probably all planned, and in that case, i don't feel so sorry for her. I guess i just don't believe any of these pics are just accidental, and so it's hard to feel sorry for her if she gets a little annoyed with the paps sometimes. It'd be like feeling sorry for me when i got out in my yard and one of my 8 dogs jumped on me. Well hello, if you don't want to get jumped on, stay your silly self in the house!

Jake's movies. October Sky blows me away. It amazes me that was his first major role. It was effortless, such a natural performance. And to play against Chris Cooper your first time, and do so well. He was great in Good Girl, of course Darko - what can you say... just amazing. I think it was the lack of chemistry in Proof that really kind of sunk it for me. Unlike the Good Girl -where his chemistry with Jen just made the movie even better. And have to say that about BBM,the chemistry with Heath. BBM seemed like another effortless performance because what he brought out of himself. Zodiac I think he really got overlooked for performance, because it was so small, quiet, in a way meek, and introvert, and for an extrovert like Jake that had to be a tough one. And Bubble Boy - I don't know how much that was acting as much as it was him being his goofy self - and I love that stupid movie.

NETB said...

Oh I forgot about Bubble Boy, I never, ever thought I would love it. :) I adore Chris Cooper; Jake has worked with some fantastic costars. He "nailed" Greysmith's character in Zodiac, and I liked Rendition a lot, not the least of which was a certain scene. ;)

Off to watch CSI, I love Laurence Fishburne in it.

Good night!

Xbox Duster, interesting comment. I don't know anything about the gaming world. Nice to get their take on it.

If you look over Jake's career, you have say, he is a great actor.

I think he's good but not great.

"Sex and the City 2" is currently set to share the 2010 Memorial Day weekend with the video-game adaptation "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," potentially giving thousands of couples a way to go to the movies that weekend without arguing over what to see.

Q: So, you are in a stable relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal, right? How is he?

R: Yes. And we’re just fine. Thanks for asking.

We are just over a year out from the POP release and I am not getting a good feeling about this movie for poor old Jake. Let's look at the tidbits that have come out:

-a release of some promo shots of Jake as the Prince...the majority view over the net was not, man he looks fabulous! (I thought he did!) but it was more of a WTF!?!

-a movie critic seeing a quick sneek peak of the movie and all she could muster was "I hope they fix his hair"?

-Ted C hearing rumours that Jake's british accent sounds like a woman

-an interview with a POP crew member who said it was not the greatest of movie shoots

- a big deal made of the fact that we would catch a glimpse of the Prince of Persia movie poster in "Confessions of A Shopaholic"-- the movie bombed....

I hope things turn around....

I don't know what to say. I gasped, I laughed and had to watch it again.

I was howling, and so was the Mrs.

Along with SATC opening the same weekend as POP, Shrek the Fourth is opening the week before and Toy Story 3 is opening 2 weeks later. Along with the not so positive tidbits out so far about POP, it's not looking good for Jake. He will Reeking for the next 5 years. The only thing keeping him in the spotlight is his good looks and being Chinormica's neutered boyfriend. Also, Ryan's away filming, that little tidbit about Jake and Deacon is probably on the beginning of the Reeke and the kids PR campagin. Ryan's not here to physically take the kids back to his house. I remember a post by TR last month saying that Reese had the kids from April to June and to get ready for the photo ops. Good reporting TR, you were dead on. Hope there's some good news you can throw our way.

This weekend Reese's last at #1. Hannah Montana opens next Friday. Hannah's gonna kick her butt.

MvA's box office take must take into account the inflated ticket prices. When normally say $8.00, for 3D viewing, you bought those dorky glasses along with your ticket for $11.00.

If averaged down without that add on, the opening weekend isn't as ginormous as reported.

Florida Tom said...

That sighting by US Weekly scares me. I seriously hope what Movie Reporter said does not happen. VERY SERIOUSLY HOPE. What kind of human beings would use children this way. Nah not Jake. Won't happen. Jake is a decent guy.

Speaking of Ryan P. saw Stop Loss last night. It was terriffic as was Ryan.

The vacation saga continues. Dropped my cell phone today. DEAD! NO PHONE! Damn I need my thumbs back. Try not using your thumbs for a couple hours. Aint Easy:-)

Florida Tom said...

Oops almost forgot. Have a safe and fun trip PR Girl. You are about to meet some really nice people.

SiennaB! said...

Jersey Tom - at least if you don't have your phone, none of that pesky thumb texting! that's probably not enuf of a bennie tho. sorry!

Special K... regarding Jake's older movies, Bubble Boy, Donnie D and even Oct Sky, i'm not really interested in seeing them. This will sound totally dumb, but it's sort of like not wanting to go to a bar if you can't drink or to a candy shop if you're on a diet. I really really don't want to confuse myself with who he used to be and who he is now.

Having said all that, even tho i'm not loving what's going on in his life right now, i'm not turning against him. I think we've all kinda danced around the issue, some closer than others, but his career is nothing to get excited about these days, and while some of his upcoming movies may or may not be good, i doubt any of them are going to be HITS, which is what he needs to move forward, imho. I know what it's like to want something really bad, and he's young and has a lot of folks pulling on him, telling him what to do. I think he's made some bad decisions buying into Reeke, and if his body language is anything to go by, i honestly think he's beginning to figure that out. I'm not ready to give up on him yet, because i've made plenty of lame=o decisions in my life with a lot less riding on them than what he has at stake. I don't think i can stand a whole nother year of Reeking, however,so i hope they realize this isn't doing either of them any real favors and give it up soon. Blech.

Special K said...

What have I been watching the past hour? Bubble Boy.

Total movie crack, once you find it on you end up just watching.

"I'm Todd, and I'm Lorraine."
"You're not a singing group you're a cult"

And there is a homage to Hal Ashby's Harold & Maude in the movie, Jake in the tub.

destiny said...

Tom, sounds like you need some air bags for your body and your belongings. :-D

I kind of understand how you feel Sienna, with the exception of Bubble Boy I haven't been able to watch any of Jake's movies since Rome. I do like some of Russell and Sheridan's films, but they've also done some not so great stuff, especially Russell. Time will tell.

I hope PoP doesn't turn out to be as much of a mistake as Reeke has been, if so it may take him a long time to come back from something like that.

prairiegirl said...

Alright.

I need to start packing, but I need to address DBP...etc. foulword laced comment.

You know what. I just spent about 1/2 hr typing, retyping, editing, etc etc and I just deleted it all.
What I said anyhow earlier which DBP...etcetc. blew a gasket over, did come out wrong & I did stress over it during my walk. As I have said earlier, that's what happens when I hastily comment before heading out the door at work.

It wasn't meant literal but I'm going to defend anyone, particularly new, 365 days out of the year to a rude comment.

And now? I'm just going to get down on my knees and I'm going to bow my head down and beg forgiveness. Boy, did I phrase myself wrong. Boy, did I butt in whereupon I was not asked to join in the conversation. Boy, did I disrespectfully refer to you as a time instead of your name. And boy, did I grossly underestimate the importance of acknowledging a given name despite it not being a registered Blogger name - man, I'll never do that again.

All I can do is say I am so sorry. Honestly. I feel bad. I don't know why I leap off the dock like that. Now look. I've cast a bad light on this blog and for that, I ask not only for your forgiveness, but everyone else as well. What can I say. I'm human and of all people, I'm the queen of making mistakes & uttering things without thinking how I'm phrasing them.
This is going to bother me tonight; good thing I'm not even packed yet. I'll probably be up all night anyway so at least take solace in the fact that I wouldn't be able to sleep anyhow. This might even keep me from having a good time in D.C. over the weekend. Wicked might have to ship me back, return to Sender.

Do me a favor. Hurl a few more f-bombs at me. I deserve it. Don't even deserve to be on here. Would you consider relieving me of my Ambassador duties and taking over for me? I think you're just the man for the job. I'll be glad to recommend you - you've got to be better at it than me, that's for sure.

And now that I've totally swallowed my pride and sucked up to you, I'm going to go ahead & give my last Welcoming Ambassador greeting and say Welcome to OMG!! I do believe you might be new. We are mighty glad to have you and I'll look forward to reading more of your comments.

I'd like to hand over the baton to you and say, "Take it Away, DBP...etc.!!"

Criminetley's, guys. You know, I need to be packing. But I hate to be misunderstood or misinterpreted, you know that.

Ah well, wasn't the first time to be slaughtered, won't be the last.

SiennaB, sorry I got you in all kinds of hot water there. I didn't mean to give you a good baptism that way, lol.

Tom, thanks for the well wishes! Boy, you are having a Griswold type vacation so far, aren't you? lol. I think Destiny's right - you need some airbags around you. I am excited about my trip, very.

And, Tom, I very much doubt that sighting of Jake & Deacon. Funny how we get no pictures, just a vague mention. With most cellphones having cameras now, no picture? But just the fact that someone's got to send in the story using one of the kids, is in my opinion, a desperate attempt to re-solidify the image of Jake in her entire family's life. And it's just not considerate of the kid at all to use them like that. I could go on for an hour about this subject, but....not.

Lane!! NETB!! Good to see you all. I had to check on you.

What I said way up above did come out wrong and I fretted over it during my walk. But I would hope I'm known to be better than how it all came out in my words.

Sorry to miss out on the movie talk. I LOVE October Sky. And now I really have to go.

I hope the Detroit airport has Wi Fi. I think I have a layover there in the morning. At 9:21 in the a.m., give me a thought and maybe a little prayer that no geese fly into my plane's engines. I do not swim very well.

Prarie Girl.. I'm not feeling ruffed up at all. I was very surprised that anyone even noticed that tiny aspect of my post, but that will teach me to be more careful about what i say. Regarding the issue, I can't do much about other folks opinions, just try to set an example with my own.

I hope you have fun on your trip. I think all airports have wifi so you should be set. be happy you are travelling tomorrow and not today. the wx sucked today. it was not a good day to fly.

i will try to watch Oct Sky soon. i've only heard good things about it, and he was sooo cute back then. I hope we will be back to happy Jaking soon and all this obnoxious Reeking will be a thing of the past. Don’t you think it’s weird how he’s basically given up his whole life to this project. No more hanging out with Chris or Austin or just dudes in general. No basket ball or walking the dog. As someone said, the maggie and ramona shots were a long time in coming out. It’s like his entire existence is only about HER these days. May I say again… Blech.

destiny said...

PG, I have no idea what post has been troubling you, all of your posts today seemed perfectly fine.\

Watched the Bruno trailer, it was very funny, although it seemed pretty tame to me, so not sure why the trailer itself was rated NC-17. Seemed like The Informers was a lot racier. I guess it was the toys.

Interesting catch on the hoodies Lane. I do think like in DD the covering may have to do with insecurity, it does seem more like something a teenager would do. And I don't think it has to do with the paps, but how Jake feels about himself.

prairiegirl said...

Oh my goodness, SiennaB,you haven't seen October Sky? You have got to see that one. It is excellent. When he kneels against Miss Riley's hospital bed, holding up his medal, it makes me cry every time!!

Thanks, Lane!!! Wild turkeys? Are you serious? The birds? Where - out in the country? Or are you kidding? Is it a political joke - you know, politics go right over my head, lol! Pfffftt!

You know, this song today is unusual. It reminds me of that opening song of Natl Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

I think Lane & Destiny you are on the right track. I've always thought the hats are all about hiding. Not hiding something bad. I mean it in a psychological sense. And the hoodie? Although alot of kids & guys wear their hoods up, this seems to be a new trend for Jake. And can be a way of drawing into oneself, not wanting to be seen, etc. Or I could be wrong. Just how I've always felt about all the hat wearing. Although, see, the hats came off around the time Reeke did their disappearing act. The stubble disappeared. The hair came out in all its fine, nicely cut glory. Now the hoodie has made its appearance again.

I'm with you, too, SiennaB, I know I can come down on the guy sometimes, but I'm holding onto alot of hope here. We've seen glimpses of the old Jake lately, out with friends, out with his sister & Peter, at Whole Foods, biking with Austin (our one crowning moment), and it's enough to make me curious as to what the next couple of months hold.

And I'm not going to panic & conjure up images of With Six You Get Eggroll. It will surprise me if it happens. If it does? Yeah, I will explode. LOL. And you'll hear it even if your computer is turned off that day. But not going to worry about it.

Okay, back to finish up. I'm almost done.

Wicked, I'm going to shoot you my itinerary again, just in case you don't have it. I'll have my sign & all, but I don't want you at Canadian Air or little Mom n Pop Airline, looking for me.

IA, taking into consideration the inflated ticket prices the opening weekend was average.

"I really really don't want to confuse myself with who he used to be and who he is now."

I totally agree. I cant really wrap my head around this whole thing so I cant really watch or get into any of his movies right now past or future. I kinda feel bad about that but that's the truth.

Hi PG and all,

Speaking of Bubble Boy, my favorite line is when Pushpop says:

"Have you ever been karmically bitch-slapped by a six-armed goddess?"

And when Jimmy doesn't reply, he says:

"I'll take that as a no."

One of the funniest things I've ever heard. Speaking of which, it might be a good idea for a certain famous someone who shall remain nameless. Snap out of it! ;)

If you're talking about the real thing, I've got a family of four wild turkeys who live in my outback, as well as a herd of deer and other critters. They are beautiful.

Have a safe and fun trip in DC and enjoy the cherry blossoms. Wicked is one of the nicest people evah! :)
