MTV interviewed Jana Kramer, who plays our favorite once an actress/misfit model now screenwriter Alex, about working with Robert Buckley, James Lafferty, basketball and Austin.
Forced to make a choice between the three she agreed with us, "I love Austin — he plays Julian. He is amazing," Jana said. "I mean, I have an amazing boyfriend so I don’t look at these guys like that, but that would be my catch."
And between the characters? "I would totally pick Julian. He's more caring, someone you can actually have a relationship with. I think Clay’s kind of — he has some things he has to work out. I would totally go with Julian. He's just an all-around good guy: hard worker, believes in you, good friend, good boyfriend. Pretty cute. Not too shabby on the looks."
Jana said that she was scared meeting the girls on the show but says “I'm not just saying this because I'm on the show, but [this] is the nicest, most welcoming cast and crew I've ever been a part of. For the first time I feel like I'm part of a family." and that Sophia has become of one her best friends. She hangs with Lisa Goldstein who plays Millie, and Sophia spending a lot of time together off set. “I hang out with Sophia and Lisa a lot. We do girls' nights; drink wine and watch movies.”
Hmmmm I wonder what Austin is doing during these girl's nights, isn't he supposed to spending all his time with Sophia? You know not writing, learning more about behind the scenes production, working on the independent film Beautiful Boy, collaborating with Southern Gothic, reading or mysterious weekends .... and don't how much he loves movies.....hmmmm. 
"What else to learn about OTH from Jana? "It's primarily [Sophia's] show"....
So that would mean the storylines about Brooke will be about all Brooke and Julian would be a just vehicle to move the story along? And that when it's your show, you do the PR kind of thing?

Love this song. It's Santa and well Gene Autry is the singing cowboy, and all kinds of Texas, and then it makes me think of the SWAT team descending in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation to it. Of course I veer of track thinking of hysterical moment an entire squadron of PR swat teams descending in New York fanning out (Alpha Team Go, Bravo Team Go, Go Joe Go!) clearing the way as someone ties to take Manhattan. And I don't mean the Muppets.

Kinda harsh but when I see these scenarios, I cannot/do not see the family thing. When you're a family, and it's holiday time, it seems you would travel together and want to be together at that time. If not that time, then when is a good time?
It's not Christmas yet, and BT maybe visiting Grandma and Grandpa in TX with Daddy till then. We don't really know what Austin really doing in TX, and 4 sighting have been during the day and don't sound like big trips just out and about errands. We also don't know where Jake is celebrating Christmas yet either. Another thing is that Jake's name has been put on party lists before without him being there. So there is a lot of spec about if was there, and exactly what he was doing. He may not have been dancing the night away, but stopped in for a bit and and then went on his way.
I think closeted actors in the public eye avoid spending particular relevant dates (birthdays or holidays like Christmas) together. They must celebrate together in alternative dates and make it special for themselves, but not on the days where they know people will search for their significant other to be around as proof of a relationship. I think they carefully plan to be seen in different locations on this kind of dates to avoid being linked as a couple. It’s part of the game of being in the closet.
It could also be that they are spending a few days with their respective families before having their own Christmas together. And closet does make a good point that things are carefully planned. If people think one is TX and one is NY they assume that is were they are staying for the rest of the week. But while people fall into line with that thinking they can be somewhere else entirely.

I dont think that was the way it was meant to be seen. Jake wasnt in a gay bar but at an event with str8 men and women. Maybe he also wants to show people that he is not sittting at home acting like a loser but moving on with his life as "recently single"

I've been super busy lately and during my web crawling saw an article about a study that confirmed that gaydar is extremely accurate. Subjects were asked to assess a person's sexual preference based on a photo, then the guess was compared to actual. Bottom line, gaydar works, and it works immediately. The researchers opined that this trait was an evolutionary development needed so one could quickly assess the suitability of a mate for survival of the species. I forgot to make a note of the site to pass it on. But, looking at some of the promo photos, videos etc of Jake and Tobey for Brothers (not in character), I could not help but notice how Jake pings off the chart gay.

And I know she was just a beard but they spent 2 years in each other's company, traveling together, eating together, shopping together, meeting together, conducting business, you name it. They still spent time together for 2 1/2 years and they did get along at times. You cannot tell me that it would be strange to not have that person around anymore. IHJ has the new pictures of PoP too, and the HQ picture of Jake looks amazing.
One thing I noticed is he looked really big on that shot walking on set with well you know. But in all the other pictures he is not super bulked up and bigger than he was for Jarhead, he just looks like he really fit and like he spent hours and hours working out and training.

Face it: Reeke Pr photo ops SATURATED Jake's life; it wasn't just coffee twice a week - it was traveling, shopping, dining, working out, driving, going on weekends, to markets, med buildings, sets, practically everywhere. And the few times Jake's friends were there with the beard, they didn't look too thrilled or interested in her one iota. Sure Jake had his private time but considering the beard has little or no friends and no other hobby or interests than shopping and pap shoots, you know damn well she forcibly inserted herself into his life beyond what is normal.

Everything was appointed and scheduled and it worked into maximizing the minimal amount of time together. If you look at the number of day vs. the impact you can see how strategically it was planned.
I think he had as much private time as he could get and I don't doubt for a minute that the long stretch in Morocco and London, and a chunk of time in SC and New Mexico he was with Austin and fam and Austin was with him wasn't working. Which interesting it was very rarely they overlapped working, until Austin became a regular on OTH, and then interesting Jake worked the East Coast, and will do that in Montreal too with Source Code for the couple weeks Austin is finishing up Season 7 of OTH.
Even Sheridan slipped during an interview and said Jake was up with the kid, and then said Maggie's kid after that. So I think that he had the family with him while shooting Brothers. And you can see that in the fatherly way he was in the role if you saw the movie.
Jake and Reese both visited each other on set, very much a scheduled thing, then where two two weeks a year of a "trip". Just look at the patterns when you look over all the pictures at IHJ. You can count it off. Very structured very scheduled, very spelled out.

That role was a transition for Jake to really start playing adult leads, and I really don't think it and you know what the timing wasn't right. Brothers was the better role and the better transition piece for Jake to take on that.
I don't know if was because of the material, the director,or that Jake was a place in his life where is all just clicked.
It there anyone else out there who's seen both and want to give their opinion on it.

Jake did a great job in Brokeback.
I agree he was transitioning from boy to adult. He did very well.
I also agree that his Zodiac character was what the director wanted from Jake. I did not care for the character Jake played and the movies was too long and could have had more and better suspense to it. Did not work for me.
I think Jake was miscast in Rendition. A More mature actor or should I say, Older actor could have been better. But again, somehow I think the director wanted a kind of softer agent (character) for the role and somehow I think Jake gave him what he wanted. I think Leonardo D. would have Iced the role since he has played these types of roles very often.
Jake does Very well in the troubled roles though.
Was talking to a friend today who said the same thing, that Jake does flawed/troubled roles well. Just looking at DD it is outstanding how he captured it without making it so over the top it wasn't believable.
Yeah I think an older actor would have been a better fit for Rendition, not that Jake didn't work hard at it, it was just like he was wearing his big brother's suit.
Tom, have you followed Jake for how long? Because even pre Reeke, and especially when not working and hanging out he was maybe not flannel shrt but the same buggy jeans for weeks in a row and some over washed and almost disintegrated ugly t-shirts, or cargo shorts which are not less 'butch' and 'soccer dad' than a flannel shirt. I don't see this change of style you mention, at all. The change of style happened more in his official appearances, where earlier on he had a more edgy look rather than the very polished and formal suites he has used lately. He also used to wear more jewelry. But this change happened independently from Reeke, way before more to do with transitioning from indie to mainstream, IMO.

The good old days. Paint Stain Jeans with a long white dried paint drip on the leg and a tear patched up how many times. Olive pants with a small tear near one of the fly buttons that kept getting larger, then the button was gone, then later the tear was sewn up. The standby Ralph Lauren cargo shorts that sometimes hung low on his waist showing his boxers and that everyone wished and hoped they would fall off him. IMO there were no ugly t shirts only endearing ones.
First of all I didnt say Jake constantly dressed like a flamer in the olde days. I just dont think he would wear some of the clothes he wore pre reeke now. Either he is butched up or grown up. I still ay he changed the way he dressed post reeke.
I think the reason some of us still talk about reese is that we are still not convinced it is over. I admit reese being in NYC shook me up a bit. I wonder what Deacon is getting for Christmas. Maybe he will get one of those PoP action figures from his step dad. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Jake Gyllenhaal braved the snowy New York City weather for a guys' night out at the Smyth Tribeca hotel, where Justin Theroux, Mark Ronson and Scott Campbell were throwing a bash to benefit God's Love We Deliver, an HIV/AIDS charity. The single actor chatted the night away with Matt Dillon and they seemed like they were having a great time, a source says. Ronson, meanwhile, provided the evening's soundtrack and guests like Josh Hartnett and Mary-Louise Parker danced the night away.

1985 – Hospice volunteer Ganga Stone delivers a meal to Richard, a man living with AIDS. He is too ill to prepare the packaged food she has brought him.
1986 – God's Love We Deliver is co-founded by Ganga Stone and Jane Best. Restaurant Claire begins donating prepared meals that Ganga and volunteers deliver--many by bicycle--to people living with AIDS in Manhattan. Other restaurants join in. Ganga and volunteers deliver an average of 50 meals per week.
2008 – God's Love We Deliver prepares and delivers over 800,000 meals this year to
over 1,600 clients-a 20% increase from the previous year.

The article clearly pointed out the celebs. there. I think all of them consider themselves straight and i assumed there for a great cause. Mo mention of any gay celeb. I know what will follow with this comment of Jake being gay, but Sorry, he has NOT confessed to it or made any Statement regardless of what any posters here thinks about him.
He also appeared at the GLADD Awards some time ago. Although he looked nervous and uncomfortable as a pig at a meat market.

Jake did not look uncomfortable at the GLADD awards - it was one of his best appearances.
I liked him in Rendition Spesh, as well as Bros. I'll have to think of a comparison. :)

I also think someone needs to watch that GLAAD video again. He beamed that night and looked like he had a blast. He flirted with the crowd and they loved him. I saw more chemistry in his 30 sec dance with Jeennifer than I saw in 2 1/2 yrs with reese. That was the Jake I was crazy about.

Curiously enough however, a new item just appeared on People.com this morning. Jake Gyllenhaal is apparently in New York too. He was partying with some dudes at a charity event. Coincidence or conspiracy?
It’s a big city. People are allowed to be in a big city at the same time. Especially famous ones. But at the same time, is a Christmas reconciliation totally out of the question? Maybe if she takes the thornbush out of her ass. No Fun Reese is a buzzkill. And please stop suggesting Anne Hathaway for him. Those two are like brother and sister for me.

Totally agree with PG and Beard about Reeke and the amount of time they spent together. If Jaustin were not in the closet, Jake would spend time in NC instead, among other things.
ITA Tom about the way Jake has been dressing. it is not so much about butch clothes, but clothes that hid his body. Because we all know only gay men show off their bodies (rolls eyes). As with so many things that atre put off limits as being too gay, it also devalues what women want too. When you dress in baggy, Lmasculine" clothe what you are saying is I am just a streaight guy who could care less if I look good for the boys or girls because that is so "gay".

God Love We Deliver started out as a gay charity, but now I thinkb they have expanded to help all sick people. Not sure Jake being there quite couints as a gay charity event, especially since all the listed guests were straight.
