Producer Mark Gordon

Jake worked with his friend Mark again on Source Code, with Jake hand picking Duncan for the director's job.  Source Code was such a success for Gordan his production company went on to work on a TV series based on it.

So Jake got his chance to work again with Gordon, and it looks like Austin has again as well.  Gordon is the producer of  Ray Donovan.

Hmmm makes you kind of wonder if Gordon knew who he could get to play Tommy right off the bat.

And speaking of small world, guess who else in on Ray Donovan with Austin?

And what makes that a small world?

Because Austin was at Jonathan's wedding to Austin's OTH co-star Jana Kramer, that lasted all of a minute.

 It's a smaller world after all isn't it?

Although Austin's interview on the Tony Danza show went poof on YouTube, it is still out on the Interwebs.

But you had to wonder, why did Austin only Danza's show to promote Glory Road and nothing else?

And why would Danza have Austin, his character wasn't that prominent in storyline?

Could it be that Tony already knew of Austin?

How? From a guest appearance Austin did five years earlier on the CBS series Family Law?

While Austin was in college he did some guest parts on shows, and one was for Family Law's third season for episode (#6) called Sacrifices that Oct 29, 2001.
Austin played James Perliss. The episode had two stories: Lynn(Kathleen Quinlan) fights to help a couple retain custody of their 14 children when DCF decides they can not adequately care for them; Randi (Dixie Carter) represents a man seeking to maintain the amount of child support he receives from his ex-wife. But there was a third attorney in the practice, and who was that? Tony Danza he played attorney Joe Celano in the episode.

Small World isn't it. Maybe that's how he knew Austin loved Who's the Boss? You have to wonder if Austin still have the DVD set Tony gave him during the interview.

It's another example of all the stories we have heard about anyone who has worked with Austin thinks he's a great guy and want to work with (or in this case interview) again.

Who would have been more fun to see Austin meet on the Family Law set? Dixie Carter of course. A good Southern Boy meet Ms. Julia Sugarbaker herself? Oh my that's enough to give a grrl the vapors.

It's a Small World After All

Usually when OMG plays 6 degrees it's with Jake's connections, but this time, it's Austin's that connect to Jake.

And crazy enough it comes straight from the Crazy Tree.

Who knew that a friend and co-star would have a connect to Austin's blue-eyed boy... well more like his beards. And no not the one currently growing on Jake's chinny chinny chin.

....It seems like Mr. Hilton aka Chris Keller has on screen connections to 2 of Jake's go-to fauxs.

Tyler played a young Elvis in "Walk The Line" with Reese and was Taylor Swift's love interest in the video for her 2007 hit "Teardrops on My Guitar. (Source)

24 Seven

One Tree Hill Season 7 is back for a full 24 episodes. And it premieres September 10th on the CW.

And OTH has 24/7 a whole different way. They've jumped on the Twitter train with an official OTH Twitter site. From the tweets things have been quiet since filming wrapped on Friday. Maybe there was some down time for everyone this weekend.

Now what would a mystery man do with a free weekend? Maybe the shadow knows?


Now back in Wilmington, you wonder if Austin gets as worked up about driving around there as he does in LA. (Posting this video again here, since it might have gotten missed over the weekend.)





Gotta ask can you moon and scooter at the same time? And is it me or does he lose the point somewhere in the middle of what he is saying? Or is he trying to make sure he doesn't say too much?

That Red Carpet can spook ya. Wonder if crowds do that too?

Just a few fans came out to see them film the first scene of Season 7 of OTH. You think there were crowds like this for JFC?

Not sure they're getting crowds like that in DC, but you never know Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd are popular guys.

Holmes played Kirsten's dad in Bring It On the year before he was Daddy Darko.

Ushering in the Weekend

Austin has written posts on blogs and mentioned pursuing , but remember when he was a writer in a film. Roderick Usher had quite interesting writing rituals.

And well a lot other interesting things going on in the House of Usher.


Austin has mentioned picking part that he finds interesting. And as an English major you can imagine Austin would be interesting in reinterpreting the Edgar Allen Poe classic. Going a little Southern gothic way before meeting up with Hil, Nick and Kelly. And when you think about it Poe was about as Southern Gothic as you could get in a real Goth sense. (While Poe was born in Boston, he was raised in Virginia, and he spent his college days, many of those gambling, at UVA before getting kicked out )

Working on a small independent film like House of Usher it makes you think that Austin had the chance to put a lot of input in his character and his role.


What do you think he brought to the role of Roderick? The hair? The coat? The earmuffs? The shirtless scenes? The heat shield visor sunglasses? Or the hoodie? ; )


Did anyone else think that the silk scarf around his neck was Maddy's?
