In the Pink

Some more pictures for Austin's newest project San Patricios and little more about the movie.

The screenplay was written by Adair Cole was in competition at last year's Austin Film Festival and was on of the festival's second rounders. (semi-finalists). San Patricio's director Sean McGinly describes the movie as "It's about two brothers and loyalty and family and just had such a compelling tension."

Dud(e) to Stud

In 24 hours Jake went from

 Dude

to  Debonair

He ditched the robe and sandals for a midnight blue impeccably tailored Tom Ford tuxedo with satin lapels, cuffs and trim.

Saturday he paid homage to the iconic Dude from the cult movie The Big Lebowski as he presented the “Original Dude Award” award to Jeff Bridges at the Spike TV Guy's Choice Award.
Anyone notice his chain is back too?

Out of the dudewear at Guy's Choice

On Sunday he was the perfect gentleman helping the great Cicely Tyson to the microphone as she accepted her first Tony.

Jake presented the Tony Award for Leading Actress for both Play and Musical to Cicely Tyson for "A Trip To Bountiful" and Patina Miller for the revival of  Pippin, respectively.

Interestingly enough he presented by himself while most awards were presented by co-presenters.

While he didn't have The Dude's signature White Russian with him at the Tony's he did have one accessory for both awards show

His pinky ring

Showing off in LA

Jake made sure he got seen in LA this week.

First at LAX on Sunday

Then at the Chateau Marmont on Thursday

And tonight at the Guys' Choice Awards

He was also seen out dining with friend and former co-star Carey Mulligan

And today out for brunch in LA

If Jake has really relocated to NYC then were did he get all these clothes he keeps showing up in,  because unless he's Mr. Mary Poppins, that backpack could never hold all these clothes.

So there has to be some place that is still home for Jakey in CA.  And probably more of an established home than some people would like it to appear.

Of course tomorrow they will all be talking about Jake in NYC.  Since he is heading out of LA tonight to return to New York to present at the Tony Awards Sunday night.

Jake wasn't the only thing that returned in LA this week.  So  did the jewelry.

There is no way anyone can miss the thick gold band Thursday night

Or his chain today.

Luck of the (Texas) Irish

Some more pictures of Austin and Co. on the set of San Patricios.

It definitely looks more modern day and a story of two Irish brothers Tommy and Sean.

They did an awesome job casting Patrick Flueger and Austin as brothers.

Both brothers are married.

Tommy (Austin) is married to Margaret played by Julianna Guill and their daughter Emily played by Farrah Sinclair Mackenzie.

Sean is married to Claudia played by Daniella Alonso

Also starring in the movie Kris Kristofferson and Beau Bridges. Not sure if they are brothers too or not.  Stay tuned.

No doubt Austin will love getting a chance to work with both of them.  Talk about Texas bad ass... that's Kristofferson.  Singer, Songwriter, Actor, Director, Producer.  Kristofferson wrote Me and Bobby McGee which was made famous by his one girlfriend Janis Joplin, sang with Waylon, Willie and Johnny as Highwaymen,  went toe to toe with Barbra in Star in Born, and made two movies with one of Austin's favorite directors Sam Peckinpah in Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid  and Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia just to name a few things on his long resume.

Beau is part of an acting dynasty and has a long career starting with working with his dad and brother.  He and Austin have a couple of things in common a not only played characters named Baker (Fabulous Baker Boys) but have both worked with Beth Grant. Austin in House of Usher, and Beau in the hilarious black comedy Sordid Lives.

Playing for the other team?

Austin's on set and possibily switching sides!

Day 1 of my new movie. Me and my brother. SAN PATRICIOS - AUS10

So now we know that Austin is up to  and  have an idea what the movie is about:

The St. Patrick's Battalion - known in Spanish as el Batallón de los San Patricios - was a Mexican army unit comprised primarily of Irish Catholics who had defected from the invading US army during the Mexican-American War. The St. Patrick's Battalion was an elite artillery unit which inflicted great damage on the Americans during the battles of Buena Vista and Churubusco. The unit was led by Irish defector John Riley. After the Battle of Churubusco, most members of the battalion were killed or captured: most of those taken prisoner were hanged and the majority of the others were branded and whipped. After the war, the unit lasted for a short time before being disbanded.

It looks like Austin might be playing half a pair of Texas brothers who switch sides and fight for Mexico against the Texans.   Careful Austin you might have to give up your Big Ass (Texas) Star for that.

And if Austin playing for the other team isn't enough of a spin, how about  he's a dad.

  Check out his tweet.

Day 2 of new film SAN PATRICIOS. This little beauty plays my daughter. - AUS10
Wow! What big blue eyes and great big grin.

And wearing some big ol' boots.

Austy sounds like you're a perfect pair there.
